More from Maui

I loved this beautiful Island. I loved the hiking, the ocean (and all the creatures in it), Mount Haleakala, the waterfalls and all the fresh poké!

But by this point, I was so excited to be returning home in the evening. It's evident in a few portraits. By the way, in addition to my swimsuit tan lines, I have a subtle tan line on my forehead from wearing a bandana.

Robe - Maui

A few images from my 2017 trip to Maui with Animal Magic.

Truth be told, this was a weird trip for me. I won't go into any further detail, but I had to cut ties with this photographer. I have a lot of raw images from this week which I hoped to edit myself, but of course, other work always got in the way. It's a difficult job to sift through hundreds of images and edit them if it's not something you regularly do. Anyway, these were taken on the last morning. You can probably see on...

Black Blouse

Here are some portraits taken by Mark Harris in NJ a couple of years ago. We were playing with dramatic light, as you can see.

It just occurred to me that I have not posed for a photographer since January 2020.

Perhaps this autumn will change that.

XO.

Black Shawl

This black lace shawl was given to me as a hand-me-down by one of my dearest friends. She was my godmother, and the older sister I never had. She unfortunately passed away in 2005 after a tragic car accident. This is one of the few material items I have of hers.

Anyway, every once in a while this garment makes an appearance in my portraits, and the portrait almost always takes on an entirely new life.

These were made in NJ by Mark Harris in 2017.

Polaroids from Yesteryear

Have I posted these? If so, they're worthy of a repeat.

These were taken in 2015 in Jupiter Beach by Dan Warbrick, who was snapping Polaroids of shots composed by Craig Blacklock (who was working from a DSLR on a tripod) during a Palm Beach Photo workshop which featured MonSekaa (a long gone creative duo comprised of myself and Sekaa).

Blacklock & Warbrick hired me for a side trip up to Jupiter Beach, where a few of these were made.

The last two images, thoug...

Marilyn Monr’Oreo

Hi :)

Still trying to find ways around my new home for shooting. But in the mean time, here is my cat.

Her name is Oreo. But because of her Monroe beauty mark, we’ve decided her full name is Marilyn Monr’Oreo.

In February, my partner and I decided to start looking online at shelters for dogs. My only rule was no cats. I am allergic, and truly, more of a dog person.

One hour later, this girl comes waltzing into my house like she owns the place, demanding to be fed a...

End of an Era

Hi friends :-)

Anyone who followed my career as a traveling model knows that I spent some time in a Volkwagen Vanagon. Then I bought myself a Toyota Tacoma and retrofitted the back (with the help of my partner) and lived out of that for a few years. I traveled through some pretty amazing places all over the country in my little rolling home.

I paid the truck off early in 2020, and was excited to have a few years without a payment. Recently, I enjoyed having it to haul kayaks, or t...

Here are a few more from my shoot with Animal Magick, though I did the majority of the work in composing each shot.

In the Light

These photos were taken late at night by Animal Magick a few years ago in Austin.

I acted as creative director, composing each shot and adjusting the light.

Being perfectly honest, I was irritated halfway through this shoot. It may have been this shoot which inspired me to start a Patreon account and try taking more autonomy over my work.

Polas.

Hi! I'm sorry for going dark there. I turned 30 on July 1, and my sister took the train up to see me. Plus, our July 4th issue, and the following issue, are the biggest, busiest issues of the year. More coming atcha this week.

For now, here are some polaroids taken while I was still touring. Most were taken in the mid/southwest. All of these polaroids have either been sold or sent out in some of my very first patron packages, so this is all that is left of them.

Misplaced

Misplaced

I should have let you be,

Knowing I could not just sip of

You; who were spilling over with somber ardor

And my thirst was a sadness

That had been violently handled,

But certainly not touched

For what felt like centuries.

You whispered into my void

With fluid fluency.

But so buoyantly did you flee

In the night

These barbs sliding right off

Your back.

This heat has never oppressed me

Maui

A few years back, I traveled to Maui to shoot with Animal Magic Photography. That was our last time working together. There is only a handful of sets from that trip, unfortunately, and I haven't posted most of them for a few reasons. I know I've shared a few of these ones here, but I don't believe I shared this whole set. So here you go! Maybe I'll unearth some of the others from this trip.

Some Candids

Here are just a few of my favorite candid shots, taken over the years by some of my favorite people.

(Photographers include Scott Stillman, Photosensualis and John Gorecki).

Feel free to ask a question about any photo you see and maybe I'll tell you the story behind it. ;-)

Coffee in the cottage. By the way, the time on that enormous digital clock was definitely wrong. This was my very last photo shoot before the pandemic hit. Hoping to get creative again soon, though I am enjoying writing for a living. :-)

Pop of Color

Hey, hi! Thank you for continuing to follow my journey, even through all these weird transitions. Photosensualis only rarely posts color images, and usually they are exclusively for Patreon, so this is certainly a treat. We took these after sunrise, while drinking coffee.

These were taken during my very last shoot with Photosensualis, just before the pandemic in my little cottage on the water. My favorite part about this house was the fact that it was ALL windows, and it was situated on...

Summer 2013

Memorial Day Weekend marks the beginning of summer when you live on the Jersey Shore.

Working for a newspaper, that's a huge deal. Our paper just doubled in size. I am the music writer, and I also just debuted my first edition of a weekly column, called Sound Waves. Tomorrow, I'll be reviewing the first full capacity concert since pre-covid. Sunnier days are ahead!

Thanks to all of you who have supported me since my baby model days. I'm happy to be doing what I love as a full time...
