AT LAST!!!

I didn't even have anything planned for this post, I just wanted to say that yesterday-ish I finished the last "hard" programming stuff!!! So now I'm just adding the SFX/VA and checking some other little stuff!!!

This means the demo is 90% complete so around this Sunday, I'll be sending it to my friends for more in depth playtesting!!!

Halloween News (Completely unrelated to halloween though)

Hey guys, sorry for posting this on the last day of the month, been a little busy with irl stuff, and I have to keep with that in a bit so I'll be quick.

Sadly, my friend is quite busy with his own project and irl stuff so I'll have to keep doing the programming on my own,. I've been working on the game as usual but I still have some problem with it, despite that around 70% of is pretty much ready to go; at the moment I'm writing this I'm finishing the last long story event, and since those are the tricky part, now I just need to do one or two of Alice's events. After that it's only eventing for objects around the map and one last revision to add vfxs and check the music.

After my part is done, I'll send it to my friends and wait for a couple days or so to make sure is fully playable.

Sorry about this month, I got a bit too full of myself with how much better I've gotten with drawing that I forgot why it took me 6 months to learn and program the new UI for the game... at least I can say that I'm really liking how the events are playing out. I'm pretty sure you guys will like it, I'm just really slow in this regard, sorry for that.

This post is shorter than usual but there's not mcuh left to say this month, I'll be working on my coding skills, hopefully I'll be able to get obsessed with it the same with I did it with drawing.

Quick news!

Hey guys, it's middle of the month and I had some more free time today so I'm gonna give you a little breakdown on how things are going.

First I'm doing decent progress with the programming around of 1/3 of the events are fully functional and just need some tweaks for the sound effects and typo checks (which will be done during playtesting phase).

The coding is taking longer than expected because... well, I kinda suck at it, I spent so much time doing art studies that I thought programming would be as easy (it was not).

I'm thinking asking to friend to help me with this since, honestly, it is a huge waste of time doing this by myself; I'm not particulary good at coding and unlike writing and drawing, I don't enjoy it that much. So I'd rather have help in these parts where it's less noticeable if I don't do them myself than try to learn it.

That being said, I'll still work on it myself until I get someone for it. I just wanted to point out that right now, the progress it's being held back by my lack of programming proficency rather than anything else.

Other than that everything's been going smoothly, as in: I got my friends ready to playtest as soon as the thing is ready, the pixel art/tilesets are done, and even if Alice's VA got sick, it's nothing that would delay playtesting.

I'll try to get my friend to help me with this, since fun fact: he also works on a RPGM game, and he's been helping out with all the cool Javascript needed to make the game look as cool as in the previews! But even if that doesn't go well, I'll get the project sent to my friends for playtesting this month, after that it all depends if what's needed it's typos or some major fixes.

Also worth noting that some compatibility issues with the text have been fixed already, so now you can change the font in case the more "magical" font is hard to read (I'm sorry about that, I thought it looked cool and built a lot around it without checking for problems first).

I think that's the most importarting things so far, I'll make another post later this month with more progress, I'll make a juicy offer to my game dev friend so we can have an actual programmer for MaM...

Anniversary News #11

Hey guys, Axl here, I want to make it quick since I have some irl stuff to do in a bit so in short: underestimated the programming time I'd take...

Well, not really the programming itself but some of the more technical stuff I forgot about since it's not really important until I have to work on them.

This month I've been mostly formatting the tilesets so the auto-tile generator(?) thingy RPGM has works, which has taken it's time but not really major issues with that. What could be considered a problem would be that the guy I commission for the tilesets did a job I wasn't satisfied with for the map above, so even after revisions, I decided to make it myself, which took me around a week and a half.

Just finished the map yesterday and today I finished fixing some resolution/compatibility problems and is working as intended in the engine; I didn't do that much testing with the lights since that's way easier to do, but I just wanted to showcase it works.

(Sorry for low res, Patreon doesn't let me upload videos to the posts themselves and didn't want to make a YT thing just for this).

On that regard, I've been working on a fix for the font plugins so it's possible to change it mid-game whenever you want for easier read if needed; at first I tried modifying the font itself but after a headache that didn't go anywhere, I am just reworking the sizing of the text alongside the textboxes.

As for VA stuff, other than the Alice VA was slightly busier this month, nothing has gone wrong with her.

And as for me, I really haven't had any major problems, if anything I'm feeling pretty good recently so this is just game developming as usual and why I don't like announcing release dates or anything; I'm just really bad at it . _.

Hope you guys understand, this time it's all on me for miscalculating but I'll just continue to put everything into engine, since even now it's the easiest part; I already got 5 people to do playtesting so that part goes smoother. If you guys got anything to ask let me know and I'll respond, sorry for being more inactive than usual lately but been too focused on this.

Anniversary News #10

(Image unrelated to the news, it's just a little study I did back on April, I do a lot of MaM study, I just don't post them anywhere).

Hey guys Axl here, I'll be quick since I've already updated you a little bit earlier this month.

Due to the ear infection I lost around 2 and a half weeks worth of time which is not that much really but it's the time I needed to get the update in time this month.

Even if I could work a couple of hours during that, it just wasn't enough, I'll tell you how the progress currently is and what's left to do:

  • As it is right now, I'm completely healthy again, no need to worry about that.

  • All the scripts/dialogues are done; just doing some final revisions and improving some flavor text.

  • Right now I'm working on the last full voiced script with Alice's VA and after it we'd only need the small fixes for some lines.

  • All the art has been done and it only needs the different expressions and VFX's for each.

  • The custom assets are almost done and I only need the last tilesets for 2 maps, althought, some may need some final revisions.

  • As for the programming, I just need to put all the events into engine, all the main programming is done; it'll be boring work but doesn't take that long; so it shouldn't be a problem.

In this moment my biggest concern is music and playtesting.

As for the music: There is not as much variety as I would have liked to have, mostly because for a while I had in mind hiring people for this but that'd take way too much time and extra money, so the demo may have limited music... sorry about that, I'll improve it later, I just want to get this demo out.

As for play testing, it just takes time, I'll do it a bit for myself and give it to some extra friends to speed it up, but I can never be sure if it'll break or go flawlessly; I'm hoping the pacing of the game feels right so I don't have to do major changes.

I really want to say that it should come around the 14th-21th of September since that's the time gap I lost this month but I'm expecting anything to happen at this point... at this point I'm even expecting to get run over by a car while going to buy groceries.

I've made some cuts to the content I had in mind since it was taking too long, my vision for MaM has only kept growing bigger, and while I'm still working on the full thing I'll just release something right now and patch it if necessary.

I'll announce when the demo is in playtesting phase since I can't give an exact release date; I'll try to not get sick or anything anymore.

And if some of you had any questions about the commissions, I've only delivered the rough layouts for confirmation on the posing, which didn't take more than 2-3 hours away from the game; on that regard I'm still according to plan at least, I'll commit to that once the demo is out so I can do that while I fix anything that may have gone unnoticed during playtesting phase.

Notice Update

Well, I wanted to write this on Saturday to be posted on Sunday but I've spent a lot of time sleeping, and I mean a lot.

For starters, I did go to the ear doctor on Friday, I got told that yeah: I did wound my ear and on top on that it got infected. The infection is mostly ear fungus again so no need to worry about it scalating too much.

I got the respective meds and I've been using them the whole weekend; something that I'm slightly unsure about is if the meds themselves were making me sleepy: I'll be honest, it was probably just the exhaustion of not being to sleep even decently for 3 days straight...

As I said above I spent a lot of time sleeping during the weekend, almost 2.5 entire days 😅. I did try to work but it didn't really work out even when I was feeling gradually better from the sleep. In that regard, the doctor said it would be around 3 weeks for full recovery, I got told that the wound was healing pretty quickly and I should be able to get back to proper work conditions around Friday or next week.

It sucks that I will have to wait the whole 3 to go swim again but at least I'm not losing too much time of work, it seems that the first week was the hardest one and now that is over, things should get easier and I'll be able to work back on the art quickly enough.

I'm still unsure how much this will delay the demo; I'm hoping that it doesn't but for now it could be between 0 and 21 days (this last one is worst case scenario).

I don't think I'm forgetting anything important right now so I'll just say thanks for your patience. Usually when I get sick it's just the seasonal cold or such; which, granted, take a day or two off work but it's never something this bad. I'm sorry that this happened, I'll make sure to do everything my doctor says to prevent this from happening again... even if the hard pain was 3 days only it was awful... 😭

Next post should be about news on the demo, maybe around the 11th-18th since that's a good time to see how my ear recovers.

Also thanks for your well-wishes, I do appreaciate it and it seriously boosted my morale a lot, I'll just try resting harder this night to heal faster.

So guys, remember how I said some stuff didn't go well irl lately? I'm gonna elaborate a bit on that.

3 weeks ago I got an ear infection, the equivalent to athlete's foot but for swimmers and got that checked up on the same week. Then 2 weeks ago I had to work feeling a little itchy and uncomfortable but I felt well enough for it to not be trouble: It was mostly just itchy after taking the meds for my ear. Last week it was solved and I went to get my ear cleaned and I felt nice for a couple of days.

Thing is, I went to swim again after that, and on Monday I started feeling pain in my ear again; during the noon and afternoon I thought it was just some water inside my ear so I disregarded it and continued my day as usual but around nightime it got so bad I just knew I wouldn't be able to sleep.

At midnight, I decided to go to Emergency Room since even after taking some Paracetamol it didn't get any better, and it was painful enough for me to not be able to work either. I got told that I basically injured the inside of my ear while swimming and I got External Otitis.

They injected me some painkillers and such which really helped me but as I'm writing the post, it seems like I might need to go back if it doesn't get any better; this at least until Friday where I get properly checked up by a specialist (I don't know the name for ear doctor in English, sorry).

What I wanted to say it's: If the doctor doesn't give me a good way to deal with this, I think I actually be unable to work until this is solved; I hate to say it but when the pain gets sharp, it gets SHARP.

I really hate that this happened this month and technically I could go and spend 60-100 everyday to get injected the real painkillers until my ear gets healed enough so I don't need them anymore so I can work on the game, but I know that'd be irresponsible.

I'm sorry for this news after the last ones were not so good either, I'll keep you guys updated on how this goes on Friday-Saturday but for now I just need to make it clear that today things doesn't seem very good.

I'm praying for things to be get better enough so I can work but I really can't guarantee anything right now.

Sorry for the bad news again, I'll try to get as much work done as possible even with the ear/head pain but I really can't focus at all...

Extra news

Hey guys, I wanted to record some extra stuff showing a last progress in the UI but I don't think I can get the energy to properly record or edit for it at the moment.

Between irl stuff going not so well and a couple days ago the whole itch.io thing, I would rather just focus working on the game, I don't really have much to say other than I'm really sorry about this.

While, I'm pretty sure this will solve by itslef in, honeslty, less than a month; it still was a mood ruiner when I woke up to that.

On a brighter note, something I can share is that the art for this demo is now around 90% completed, just need to finish a couple of them and then it's all just giving the writing one final check and making sure RPGM doesn't break.

Above, there is the new tittle screen, it evolves as you play, don't worry.

As for the VA's, yeah, I don't think Cyrillia is getting voiced in this demo; I don't think I'll magically get un-ghosted or anything like that so it's going to be all Alice, I hope you don't mind.

I would like to say that there will be no delays, but with how crazy things are lately, I just don't know anymore.

This is a low energy news, but I'm mostly okay, just without much energy to do what I had in plans, I will still try recording it for the last news before the demo release though; thanks for understanding, I'll go back to the grind.

FOR BEFORE THE PREVIEW

The prologue of the game has been rewritten a bit for it to make more sense, the context of this scene is:

You just freed Cyrillia from where you found her and after accidentally using the spell on Alice last night, Cyrillia appears to you and after some talk, suggests for you to try it out again.

Of couse, you told her that is some sort of mesmerism so decided to do some quick investigation on how to hypnotize someone; with a downloaded script and some guts you go to Alice's house to do try it your new ability.

FOR AFTER THE PREVIEW

Well, for starters, yesterday I wasn't at home for much of the day, so as you could see, there are some really minor tweaks that I decided to just leave in there since I had already been recording for like 30 minutes when I noticed... I'm really sorry about that but it was around midnight...

Well, I hope the preview and give you guys an idea of how the remake is looking and what I'm going for. I'm really glad with the direction I'm going and I hope you guys like it it... And if not, don't worry, I did not show it much in here because that's going to be shown later this month in the second UI preview, but among other things, you can turn the voice acting off.

As for the art, I'm thinking on giving some major tweaks to the sprites, since those are pretty old and I feel like I can do way better. I don't think this will be done for this demo though, I'm so close to getting it done that I don't want to get sidetracked with stuff that is not essential.

AXL'S COMMENTS

Well, here is the first important post of the month, I think I can post a few drawing I haven't upload yet but I'm not sure.

I'm rushing this post a bit since I have to get back to drawing but there is something I HAVE to say: Due to some problems with Cyrillia's VA, Alice could be the one who is fully voice acted.

This is stuff that I can't control and even after reaching to THREE different VA's for her, I got either ghosted or it just didn't work out. Something similar happened with Alice who had another 2 VA candidates/casting before setting on the current one.

It's really frustating since with Liz's and Bea's VA's the proccess went so easily that I thought it'd be like that for all of them, I didn't think that the two that appear right at the start would give me so much trouble.

I really don't want to delay this, so even if I get another VA quickly, I might release the Cyrillia content just partially voice acted or fix it in a possible second demo.

I'll give you an update on this situation later this month, maybe I'll add a release date for it but so far it's still looking like mid/late August.

I think that's all I had to say for now, thanks for reading and supporting me, I'm really sorry for this; as I said before, this is stuff that I can't control so I just have to work around it.

I'll try to speed up production but this week I had some minor health problems (which are mostly solved) so I had to take it really easy for 2-3 days.

As I've said before, this batch is mostly because I saw quite a few patrons interested in getting something; and since I'm finally getting closer to finishing the demo, I think it's around a good time to publish the sheet.

HOW IT WORKS

So, before someone asks: No, I will not interrupt the developement to work on commissions, up until the 15th of July I'll have the submissions open and during the second half of the month I'll be reaching out to 3-5 of you to work on your requests.

Thing is, since I'm working on the game nonstop, after accepting the commissions: I will be taking my time with this batch. Unlike the previous batch I did around February/March that every commission was delivered within a week or less, this time I will take it really slow at least until the demo is done.

3rd Anniversary News #8

Hey guys, Axl here, I'll keep it short this time since I don't want to spend much time writing posts... I'd rather write for the game xD

PROGRESS! PROGRESS! PROGRESS!

Not much to say, just that everything is going according to plan and there shouldn't be any delays to the demo release.

However, there may be one or two maps with default RPGM assets since the artist I hired to make them took some vacations earlier this year and that changed a bit their work schedule. I don't think it's worth it delaying it just for that so I will just take the shot and hope it's not that much of a problem.

As for VA work, I just need to finish the some stuff with Cyrillia's but since she's not too dialogue heave (at least compared to Alice), it should be fine. As for Alice's VA work, it's all going smoothly now, I'll just finish the remaining stuff during next month and hopefully everything goes as planned.

Art wise, I aside from a couple of difficult drawings, I am going really well; not much to say other than I hope it's noticeable all the practice I've had since I started drawing 3 years ago.

AXL'S COMMENTS:

I don't really have much to say this news, I'm a little nervous but that's just me overthinking.

Next month I'll do 1 or 2 showcases; probably Alice's hypnosis session and maybe the UI now as it will be in the demo.

3rd Anniversary News #7

Hey guys Axl here! Sorry for the delay on the news, I wanted to make them around the 13th but some stuff happened.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Anyways I'll go straight to the point with this one, I have one thing to say: Mind and Magic's remake demo comes out on August, no exact date yet but I'm 90% sure this is how it'll happen.

As for the content in it:

Considering adding Audrey's and Liz introduction but it'd be difficult to do as it is right now.

The demo will be voice acted and will have art such as the one above (this one is from Cyrillia's intro), of course the new sprites and assets will be there too, basically everything I've been addressing in the news so far.

That's basically all I wanted to say this post, honestly there isn't much to say other than that and that you can see how my shading study from 2 weekends ago improved my skills so much; gladly, most of the art was in flat colors so I hardly have to remake anything.

Next month hopefully I'll post another video of one of the events of the remake since the development is going pretty well, and everything.

I don't have an exact date yet, mostly because I know I can mess up the timing sometimes due to my standards, but expect it around August regardless.

Anyways, I don't have much to say so thanks for your patience so far, I'm looking forward to finally show at least a piece of what I have in store.

Comm - Maid

Somehow, I forgot to upload this one; this one is again for a friend who liked this girls from an Utsuro Butai comic.

This one doesn't have anything to do with the original comic (Link HERE) but I still liked the idea pretty much. This one is also a bit old, from February to be precise, but I think it still looks pretty good even compared to the new drawings I'm currently making for MaM.

As for me opening commissions, turns I miscalculated the budget, though in a good way, since the money I got from last batch still should be enough for this and maybe even next month. So until then I don't have to take anymore, which means I can focus on the demo for the remake (I'll give updates on that later this month, things are looking really good for that at least!)

3rd Anniversary News #6

Hey guys, Axl here! Kinda rushing this post since I'll be out for the weekend. Not really much to say here since it's just the preview/sneak peek of the voice acting for the game: This time it's the definitive fan favorite the chip! Alongside Bea, for you Bea fans!

About the cast:

Well, as I mentioned in the last post, I am unsure about revealing the current cast of Voice Actresses. In case you didn't read, this due to me having already to do some re-casting with Alice's VA two times already, besides, I don't think it's that important for this kind of game, but rest assured that I'm being really careful to find voices that fit the Mind and Magic girls perfectly.

And just in case, Bea's voice is as high-pitched as it gets... yeah, I'm not much of a fun of those type of voices. So this is as much anime as it gets.

About the progress and the demo:

Well, I'm still speedrunning everything related to the demo, I have a lot of content but it's scrambled pieces of later on in the game.

I've got a fair part of the intro/prologue of the game done but I have no release date yet, and if someone still had doubts about it: I'm releasing the demo first, there's no way I get all of the game done so soon.

Sorry again for this, I'm trying to not repeat the same broken game I had before so I'll delay it if needed. Not my favorite thing to do but I want a good thing before anything else.

I know I've probably said this a lot but: I am working on it, trust.

At the moment I'm mostly busy with writing and getting the instructions to get the assets done, not sure how much I mentioned it before but sprites, tilesets and such are made by other people now, so even if I get less work over all, I still have to do a fair bit to get exactly what I want.

About next news:

Now, I'm unsure about what to post now, I've pretty much talked about everything I can without giving spoilers (I think). Maybe I can do a Q&A about the remake or the game in general.

Let me know if you'd like that or if you have any suggestions on what I could post, I have really bad memory so I may have skipped something you guys want to see, so tell me if I missed anything!

Axl comments:

First of all this is the shortened version of the new chip induction, so it'll be longer and more detailed(?) when it comes with the game. You can see I'm reworking a bit the vibes for the gadgets to make them more unique from each other.

I hope you guys like the preview, I was unsure on what to showcase for voice acting so I went for a safe bet.

I am doing my best to get everything done as possible, again, thanks for your understanding. I'll try to get a release date whenever I can, for now I don't want to set deadlines I can't reach.

3rd Anniversary News #5

Hi guys, I'm back again after longer thatn I intented, this time with a post made to talk about the major QoL changes for the MaM remake.

Sorry, this month I've been a mess, between fixing my real life stuff and getting those extra funds for the VA's (which I'll talk a bit more below), I haven't found enough time or energy to write the news of this month.

I'll try to be more consistent with the posts but I don't really have a lot to show left, but I'll explain that below in a bit.

For now here are some stuff to expect for the update:

MORE CINEMATIC ART FOR THE STORY (AND JUST WAY MORE ART IN GENERAL)

Not sure how clear this was but I'll say it again just in case: I am doubling down on the lore and story, so that means I'll be making way more art to depict the characters and the world they live in. This also goes for the lewds, I am remaking a lot of them to be as good as posible, and adding a lot more.

Something I can leak here is that I'm making now while custom art for the gadgets, now the lewds for the chip, pendulum and the future new gadget will have their whole unique special events (rather than the current same art but with variations)

(Here is a little art of the rework of the first encounter with Cyrillia, aka the moment where the protag gets his magic; yep, I'm remaking the whole intro too!)

MUSIC

This I think it's a bit clerarer and doesn't need as much as explanation, but I'll make it clear; MaM is getting now background music for the story events and exploring the map.

It's not an OST since that'd be really expensive but it'll do the work.

I'm trying to get different songs for each time of the day but I'll most likely simplify that for one that plays almost all of the time and one for the night, this for each place/location of course.

VOICE ACTING

For this one I'm actually unsure on how clear it is, I am aware some of you saw the poll back then but I don't remember if I actually made a post talking about it.

So just in case, I'll say it here now. Mind and Magic is getting semi-full voice acted! 

Around a year or two ago or so while I was working on the initial stages for the remake, after doing that Liz cow piece and getting it voice acted I had an epiphany dream where I got the inspiration to get Voice Actresses to bring MaM even more to life! 

I won't go into details for the cast or such, but I'll say that next month I'm giving you guys a sneak peak on the voice acting, with one of the fan favorites: A chip scene! Also, this serving as a sneak peak of the rework for the gadgets, thanks for your patience, that shouldn't take me as much time to write as this post.

AXL COMMENTS

Next month as I've said above I'll be sharing sample for one of the scenes of the new VA's, I'll also be posting some other comic commissions I did for friends; after that I'm actually a bit unsure on what else can I post until the demo for the update is ready.

In any case, I am again, really grateful for your patience, I am getting really closer to getting all the art for the update at least as a sketch. The story bits have been taking way longer since I'm learning to do actual drawings other than porn, but once that is ready I should be able to post the thing maybe as an alpha since a lot of the hypno art will be left as sketches.

Anyways, sorry for the lack of posts or all this being vague about the game, I want to keep as much content as possible as a surprise so the update hits harder, I am really sorry for not sharing a lot and just relying on the "Trust me guys". But I am working and hopefully with these previews are good enough until I manage to get something playable.

Thank you so much for your support so far, I'll try to speed up the production but I can only do so much on my own.

After this, around the end of April/May I should be finally opening comms for you guys... I kinda need those extra funds for the VA's...

3rd Anniversary News #4 (Public Ver.)

Fourth news about the Anniversary! This time a more in depth post explaining some of the new mechanics I've been working on, alongside with other stuff regarding gameplay.

If you've noticed, I skipped the 3rd news; that one is a video showcase of the remake and will be kept for patrons only indefinitely, probably will do the same for all future vids.

Anyways, here is a bit of what was in the news!

STATS AND PROGRESS CHECKS:

In the remake you'll have 5 stats for the protagonist, the names are the same as in the picture: (Strenght, Intelligence, Charm, Kindness and Magic) and can be leveled during the main story, sidequests or while exploring the map and performing certain actions.

What are the stats for? Well, these are mostly to make sure you've played and explored enough, acting like some sort of block for some quests and such; don't worry though, I'll try to keep it low for stuff related to NSFW content.

NEW DAY/NIGHT SYSTEM:

Well, with this I can now add more customized routes/routines for the girls, depending on which day and hour you'll have to explore a bit more to know where they are.

The structure for the time system is almost the same as how it has worked so far basically:

Early Morning -> Morning -> Afternoon -> Night - Late Night

NEW PROGRESS ON THE GIRLS:

TLDR: Control Remains the same and Friendship the more you progress the more you get some (side)quests to unlock new outfits.

Another thing worth of note is that now the Control Level you have on each girl will affect how you can use the gadgets on them (Might talk about it in the dedicated post for the QoL changes).

AXL COMMENTS

Aside from the stuff saved for the next news I just have to say this: Yeah, the update isn't coming out tomorrow...

I didn't really know where to fit it but the gist of it is: I'll be delaying the update until it's ready. Yes, I was not ready for all the work this would mean, and even after cutting off a lot of content, seems like I'm going to take a while to get this properly done.

I am really sorry to say this as I wanted it to be something nice for you guys but I seriously can not complete this by Match 4th as I originally intented. I'll probably be posting drawings, news and commission while I work on the game. This last ones also being used to fund the game and my life expenses while I am unable to release an update.

This will be only until I manage to get this remake done, after that I plan on going back to the usual release every other month.

Thanks for your understanding, I am mostly struggling with the actions scenes in some story events, since aside from the shading in some events, I have to do it all by myself, it's been really difficult to learn quickly.

I am considering reducing even more the scope of it and maybe release a demo/preview for the remake, somewhat like I did when the game first launched, so you guys can at least see firsthand how good the game is now.

Let me know if you'd be interested in that, since I think that's a really good approach considering how long it could take me to finish the actual thing; also if you have any more questions, I'll try to respond the best I can!

They can also be lowered if you choose certain things but most of the time it won't be that much.

  • Some (side)quests will require you having one or another stat leveled up to accept them or carry on with them.

  • During some NSFW scenes there will be stat checks to unlock additional content (You can replay them at the memory room to see it if you didn't have enough at the time)

For the Friendship it's almost the same, just that these unlock new outfits, new stuff to do in the map, SFW scenes and a less "generic" type of hypno (this meaning, different scenarios from the Control progression ones).

Just a heads up, I may or not add all of this yet since I'm already struggling with the update as it is.

Emily Pin-up - Comm

Another one of the commissions I did last month, this one is for a friend and it's his OC.

Funny thing, if you play Nano Control, specifically the Nano Control+ mod you might find her somewhere around, just a little cameo since her events will be added in the next release but you get it.

Another thing I'll say here to not make another post is that news for this month may be next weekend, I've been really busy irl and even though I have the content ready, collecting my thoughts for the post has been harder then I thought. I'll try to get them done as soon as possible but it may take until next week thanks for your patience!

Yep, last month I opened comissions for a little group of friends and patrons, this because I needed a bit more funding for the game... 😅

3rd Anniversary News #3

Third news about the Anniversary! This time about the new UI and some sneak peeks of some other stuff.

(The video may only watchable on YT, still unsure but opening it should solve it may that be the case! Watch it before reading the post!)

Little heads up, I won't be talking too much in detail about the QoL changes and such, I'm still unsure if I'll talk about those... mostly becuase I'd be hard to list and honestly 😅 I'm not really sure how to present.

PROGRESS

As you can see, the thing is still pretty unfinished, mostly needing some fine tuning and some rework/extra custom assets., but it's good enough to tell that is not that far of completition; I'd say the whole UI should be around 60% done, I wanted to get it completed this month but I'm unsure if that can be done.

The whole bases for the programming have been done, so most of the time that I'll spend will be for the assets since the fine tuning to the code should be pretty easy.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • In the video shown, you can see some placeholder assets, the most obvious one being the tittle screen; something I want to do is give the option to have and choose multiple of those, which is completely doable! So you can expect that!

  • I'm still considering if I should do custom screen for the the new Item/Save/Load menus, since I think I could just leave them as semi-transparent windows and it'd be just fine, maybe I'll decide based on the time I have since it's not really necessary and it can be added later on without much trouble.

  • I may add some previews in the UI about upcoming main girls, not really sure though since I only have very rough sketches of them.

I'm not really sure what else to write here, I think everything you want to see is in the video; so, as always, let me know if you want to know about something in specific.

AXL'S COMMENTS

Honestly, I am really unsure of how to talk about this and some of the next posts. Since I want them to be surprising enough, I can't really go into detail, but I am unsure if they're self explanatory by themselves.

Anyways, next post should be about either the QoL or some of the new mechanics.

This month has been rather "slow" or at least it feels like it, I feel like I could've done way much more but I got sidetracked pretty hard. Even more now that I took some commissions for friends to get some extra budget for friends (I am acing them so I may open them to you guys, not sure if you're interested though).

I'll try to get this as done as I can in what's left of the month, I think there's not much else to do in terms of UI so hopefully I can start remaking stuff soon... I am scared though, Monster Hunter: Wilds is coming out next month and I don't think my productivity will like that.

Right now, it seems like I might need to delay the thing; if that's the case, I am seriously considering opening commission for patrons every month to make sure the income is enough to pay all the people I'm hiring for this thing. In hindsight, I should've get them way earlier but I was too stubborn to stop thinking that I could do everything by myself.

I hope you guys can wait until the big update is done, I seriously want it to be at least decently playabale before airing it. I have no problem leaving some assets and art unfinished if it doesn't affect the experience too much, so I'll cut corners and I'll finish those after the update is out.

[Flat Colors] "Would you love me if I was a worm"

Tbh, I wanted to post more the past week, I've been really busy since the start of the year has been pretty troublesome.

I'll make the news post around next week (?), this time talking about the completely new UI for the game; I know it doesn't sound like much but it's pretty big.

On terms of progress, it's being made, I'll explain in detail with the detailed post.
