I wasn't sure what suit to draw so I just gave him a generic shirt and then added the design in color, and the Background is a revision form an old illustration but more of a bright and calm version, I really love this floral ornament and I couldn't find a piece to use it again.. this was the perfect match.

To be fair the line art looks nice, but the neck started bothering me for some reason, eventually I just gave up on it and now I think it wasn't that bad 😅 I've been a little to self critical lately.

You see why I didn't want to scrap this portrait? BTW this is the closest I've ever got to "comic style" coloring, I am obsessed with Adam Huges and for years I've study his covers, I I think I finally crack the code for his beautiful coloring 😅
If I ever make a comic I think I would try to use this technique 🤔🤔🤔

So I had this "failed" attempts from the Peter Parker portrait, and this one is not that bad, actually it could've been the one, but I just couldn't get the lighting right and the proportions started looking funny, so I moved on to the other version that became the final one you all already saw.
Now.... I kept going with it but with a different approach and tried to keep it stylized and a little less realistic, cause I really like the idea and I didn't want to waste it. You'll see what ...

The nose was making me nervous.. I kinda overlooked the cheekbones at first, but when I started coloring the nose was fairly easy and the cheekbones took several tries 😅 you never know how it's going to be... that's why I don't really like to make tutorials or to give instructions, I'm still figuring things out myself LOL

When I make the final sketch I try to include the structure of the face and folds on the skin even if it looks a little "ugly" those are guide lines for me to follow when coloring, the final line art is a lot cleaner.

The reason why I do the eyes almost at the end, is because they make the face look complete and alive... so it makes more difficult to notice any mistakes, sometimes I push the features around the face while coloring it, and one millimeter can be enough to throw the entire face off... but I wouldn't notice it if the eyes are on and looking right, and I would spend hours changing things around trying to find the mistake.
So, no eyes, and if anything looks a little off, I just go back and...

Tom has very high cheekbones and they split in the middle, that wasn't very easy to get right for me... This is a semi-chronological progress of how I got them to make sense, the chin was pretty straight forward, and I think the jaw is what makes him look so handsome 😅

At first I added as much structure as possible to the eyelids... then I realized he looked too old and started blending them out, but it stills shows in the final image, which I like... I didn't want him to look too young.

Fun Fact: I don't like spiders 😅 and spiderwebs creep me out LOL
That was the one reason why Spiderman wasn't my favorite superhero, and my younger brother loves spiders, so when we were kids he would ask me to draw spiders and tarantulas for him all the time and I was like Eww 😜but since I'm a good brother I did draw a lot of spiders for him. And for this fanart I wanted to add some spiders but I kept it simple with some silhouettes in the background.

Is nice to draw a leaner body for a change, I'm so used to big muscular bodies that this was a nice refreshing challenge. The line art seems a little too busy because all those short lines, but I really needed them to give definition to the body without making it look skinless 😅
My favorite part is the hair nad my least favorite are the hands... again 🤔
