Not sure what kind of suggestions I might get for this month's pinup, but I want to challenge myself to do a more dudely illustration this time if I get a character that piques my interest!

Variant cover for volume 5 of Pat Shand 's ongoing DESTINY, NY series.
I don't think I actually teased this one at all while I was working on it, so here's a lil before/after of the sketch concept and then the final art!
Just felt like time to do a new avatar drawing, had the concept of doing something weird/edgy with like, a bug in my mouth, who knows?? I THINK I'm gonna use the (somewhat) colour version but I liked the inks on their own too, so just a lil' indecisive now XD

How could I resist the suggestion to do these gals?? Totally Spies was very much my jam as a young teenager and probably not surprisingly, Sam was my fave.
The animation company that did this show also did one called Martin Mystery that I liked, and was actually based out of Quebec. It seems like they didn't go on to do any other shows in this style since then, which is kinda a shame! Seeing "western anime" from a Canadian company was pretty neat to me grow...

Process breakdown of the previous commission!
Despite the details I tried to incorporate, this one was actually pretty easy-going; once I had the poses roughed out, I knew pretty much exactly where I wanted to go with everything so apart from some finagling with adjustment layers/ gradient tones (you can see the unfiltered colours in step 10), this was a very chill commission ^.^

On another recent art nouveau note, really fun commission done for Nicole based on the idea of Death being sunny and cheerful and Life as more sombre with moon imagery. I referenced a few pieces of Mucha pretty heavily here and gd it's fun doing over-the-top flowy hair and dresses!! ♥
