Exact events from my first few nights in he new house. I do not believe in ghosts except at night, then I believe in everything and I know they are all in my house about to Get Me
I also referenced this in me and Kris Straub's new podcast, Scared Yet? In which we discuss horror! People seem to be enjoying it so far, which makes me very happy because talking about horror with Kris is just the best.
And th...

Yeah I got really into Shadow Raiders. A lot of these are Prince Pyrus sketches, including what he might look like when he grows older (because the older members of his species look vastly different than he does, which I thought was real cool!!) I also drew King Cryos because he is very noble and I love him. And that bottom pic is Princess Zera and Prince Pyrus when they are older, as I ship them.
PS why does Princess Zera need a weird metal shell bra when HER SPECIES DON'T GOT TITY. At least ...

WOW did we have fun with this one. Shadow Raiders is The Good Stuff. I'll be posting that fanart I drew to Patreon later today!
(Also yes I looked it up and there is a single bug on Antarctica, and I will never forgive myself for not remembering it, this very special and important bug.)

This is part 3/4 of the first scene of Book 2-- I was gonna do all four in the four weeks following the KS, but wound up getting swept up in some other work. Part 4 is the longest and may take me a little while to complete, but hey, in the meantime ya'll get the rare pleasure of seeing an update before it goes live.
There'll be a Sistertime Podcast sometime this week, tooo! And maybe a mini...?

Here are some little Jurassic ankylosaurs! Ankylosaurs are little herbivorous armored dinosaurs that are beloved by all. Most folks only know about Ankylosaurus, which lived at the tail end of the Cretaceous, but the group first evolved back in the Jurassic and included such dinos as Mymoorapelta and Gargoyleosaurus, which lived in what would one day be the midwestern united states.
And here is where my novice-level paleontologist expertise runs a little dry, because the differences betwee...

Sorry I didn't post one of these last week, I was driving across the country with my mom and the internet was a little bit unreliable. So I'll post two this week! And hopefully there will be a Sistertime eventually... whenever Maddie stops "having a good time with her family and working two jobs" and sends me the files.
Continuing with last week's theme of "scaly Triassic weirdos", here are two such weirdos. The first is Smok wawelski, one of the largest predators in the Triassic, and a bi...

For those of you who long for the days when all your dinosaurs were naked and covered in scutes, I have just the archosaur for you! (And next week, too.)
This is Postosuchus, which lived in the late Triassic. There was a mass extinction around the end of the Paleozoic/beginning of the Triassic which wiped out most of the big land creatures, leaving those niches open. By the end of the Triassic, the niches had been filled by archosaurs, a group which includes pterosaurs, dinosaurs, and mode...

Wow this one took us a while! Our lives have suddenly become very busy, but we'll do our best to keep these coming a bit more steadily despite all that's going on in our lives. I have a big deadline coming up around the same time that I'll be moving across the country to Boston, and Maddie has become a part-time cheesemonger, so her schedule is filling up fast (with cheese, which I hope she shares with me.)
Hopefully we'll be able to get one of these in before my move, but the one after th...

This week, meet Plateosaurus! It was one of the more widespread herbivorous dinosaurs of the late Triassic. It's related to sauropods, and is referred to as a "prosauropod", which isn't so much a group name as it is a way to categorize things that are kind of like sauropods, but not quite. These fellas wandered across the plains of Laurasia, in the same region as Liliensternus.
They were a little odd in that the adults were of varying sizes, they could grow to anywhere between 16 and 33 fe...

Well there isn't a JSPH this week, and probably won't be a The Last Halloween either, but here are some extinct creature sketches! This week, we have two crested Triassic theropods-- Zupayasaurus of what is now Argentina, and Liliensternus of what is now Germany.
Theropods are a group of (mostly) bipedal dinosaurs, and contain the only carnivorous dinosaurs. These guys are a couple of the earliest theropods, from the very end of the Triassic. Dinosaurs were getting to be kind of a big deal...

So I am gonna do these weekly extinct creature posts! Each one will have some sketches and a little educational info. I'm currently only doing Mesozoic creature sketches, but will probably skip back to the Paleozoic in a little while. As I said, I'll be updating the Patreon rewards pretty soon to reflect the stuff I am actually able to do! These will probably be available to $2+ patrons?
So the first drawing is the only one I managed to do when I went to visit the ROM in Toronto! It's Futa...

Hello, my friends, it's been a little while! I've been Kickstarting for almost a month now and between that and conventions, it's been a bit hectic. Here's an earlier cover design that didn't work quite as well as the one I decided to go with! It may wind up as an extra in the book, but I have so many extras, I may cut it. Oh yeah, less than 3 more days to back this Kickstarter...!&n...

Also, sorry for the lack of communication lately! I am now running the Kickstarter I told you guys about a couple weeks ago, and it is going swimmingly-- https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1203079854/the-last-halloween-book-1
But it also means I am so busy. I always forget that it's kind of nonstop work when you're running one! And on...

Good afternoon, friends! So this month has been a little wild, and it's only gettin wilder. Next week, if all goes well, The Last Halloween: Book 1 Kickstarter will be launching on the same day that I head up to Canada for a few weeks to do both TCAF and VanCaf. I've been putting together some little mini comic collections for these shows while also trying to make sure everything gets shipped off, all the while laying out pages for this big TLH book and planning the Kickstarter and keeping up wi...

Oof, I have been so swamped lately! Thank you all so much for sticking around through this lil rough patch. I think I'll do a post about all the stuff I've been up to in a few days, but for now, I can show you this lil chunk-- a small collection of the mini comics I've made so far! If you'd like, you can download a PDF from this post.
You've seen all these (save for the one featured above), but in case you like PDFs and having all of em in one spot, I have given you this. I had to have thi...

For once in my life I finished a JSPH before 2 AM the night of! So you guys get to see it first.
The first and second things are basically things that people have said to me/my family and they seemed like such a setup for a horror movie but, sadly, nothing ever happened. It's like all the ghosts and ghouls know I wanna see em so they take the night off.

I went to Chicago! I was selling at C2E2 all weekend so I didn't get to see much of the city, but I had a little time yesterday and headed down to see Sue at the Field Museum. I couldn't even go through the whole museum, I was so short on time, which was a big shame. I will definitely have to go back to Chicago, they have TWO WHOLE ZOOS and one of them is free! And an aquarium, too! I have much still to do there. Also, I never got a Chicago Dog, and that must be amended.
Also, I'm sorry fo...

So, major spoilers here for The Witch, look out!!
In this deleted segment, Maddie and I discuss the recent horror movie The Witch, and Maddie wanted to keep it in but I wanted to get that podcast down below 35 minutes and also this is way off topic and ALSO I was afraid that the Horror Gatekeepers would tell me I was an "idiot" who "clearly didn't understand the film", which has happened to a few ladies I know who were less than pleased with it.
I again, want to reiterate, it's a goo...

Okay so... for half this episode.... I am using the wrong mic again. But round abouts 17:30 I switch to the goodish mic, so you will only have to suffer for so long!
Also don't worry about telling me about what we tamed and made into cows, we got that factoid covered~~
You'd think I'd know about these important extinct beasts but for anything that evolved after non-avian dinosaurs died out, my expertise is greatly limited. Mammals? Who needs em!

I just had to upgrade my phone and my new one has a super good camera, so I was able to really easily take nice progress pictures even when I was out in a cafe, far from my scanner! Hopefully they look good to y'all, too.
This panel was really tricky for me to draw. I did like three rough drafts just to get the angle and placement of everything looking good. I hope I succeeded. It looks swell to me, at least!
My usual process starts with thumbnailing, then a rough sketch (t...

Yesterday was my boyfriend's first day in town and I was really sleepy all day! So writing a comic was difficult and this took me hours to complete as we sat there watching Worst Cooks. And I didn't really like it enough to post it as a JSPH! But it's not like, awful, so you folks can see it. My little treat to you u3u
Happy Valentine's Day! Or the day after Valentine's Day, whatever! Happy my boyfriend's birthday, as well. I will make him cupcakes today
