Getting this version inked & colored has been a little trickier than I thought...  Since I'm still working on the shading for both versions, I wanted to keep it all in one file, but without having to duplicate existing parts that haven't changed.  The shading may take a couple more days, but the current uncensored version is up on last month's Dropbox folder.

Forceful (updated)

So out of 22 animations, I have 9 left to go. I'm hoping to get most of them done tonight, if not all of them. The sooner I get them finished, the sooner I can get this image inked and colored. Not having time to finish this actually worked in my favor, since there were a couple of things that needed fixing.

What could have been

Well that didn't take too long - I felt too drained to draw today, so I cobbled these together instead.  This is what pages 2 & 3 of Late Again would have been, if I'd stuck to the original script - shorter and lazier.  On the other hand, this version wouldn't have taken nearly as long to complete.  Or at least the second page wouldn't, since it recycled the art from the first page...

Late Again 6

Here it is - the sixth and final page of what was originally supposed to be a 3-page comic!  A comic that was started over 14 months ago...  holy crap that's depressing...

There are a few reasons why this comic took so long to finish.  One is simply that I lost interest at some point, BECAUSE it was taking so long.  It became maddening - I wanted to just quit and move on to the next chapter, but at the same time I wouldn't let myself move on until this one was do...

Rainbow Corps

I'm trying a slightly different approach to coloring this image - normally I do it all in Illustrator, but it can be rather time-consuming to color and properly order the inks, and then create the color fills. I thought it'd be quicker to color the inks in Photoshop instead, but so far it feels like it's taking just as long. After separating the inks in separate colors in CMYK mode, I copied the later and started filling everything in. These fills will be used as masks for the actual colors, ...

GL Daisy thumbnails

Some initial GL Daisy & Monique sketches, while waiting for some files to upload. I've got Daisy's pose (left) pretty much figured out, but Monique's is a challenge. I like the top one, because of the two it feels more like a hero pose. But I also like the idea of the second one, of her putting everything she has into the blast... the execution is a bit lacking, though.

Daisy's uniform will need to be modeled sooner or later, and it'll help to have a model sheet. I could probably re-use her the old model's uniform, but modeling a new one might actually be easier. Even fully clothed, her breasts are a challenge. The top half of this image shows roughly how I normally draw them - big for her frame, but hopefully not so big that they'll get in the way. 3 weeks to go

I've got 3 more weeks on my current contract, and then - assuming I don't have another one to jump onto immediately - I'll finally have some down-time to both draw and maybe resume work on my 3D models. I've been making small adjustments to my Daisy model these past couple days. The latest is to her face - mainly reducing & softening her lips, and some minor tweaks to her nose. Sooner or later I may have to take this model into Zbrush, and do my tweaking in there. These obsessive little...

Never finished

It's been some months since I last looked at it, so yesterday I took some time to review my Daisy model. Maybe it's just me, but she seem just a hair too tall... I don't even know why I'm bothering with this, because the first chance I get, I'm going to create a lower-poly model that I can animate quickly with 3DS Max's Biped.

I should not write dialogue when I'm past ready to pass out for the night...  I wanted to show that Lily is a little - scratch that, a LOT - imbalanced when she hasn't had her medication, but towards the end it went too far, on top of being too wordy.

Only one more panel left to draw, and the next page to my far-too-behind Rose comic will be nearly finished! I probably won't ink and post it until the final page is also drawn, though. The sooner I get this bastard finished, the sooner I'll finally be free to move on to other stories!! And while I'm at it, at the top left is a tease of Daisy-as-Elvira pic I'm working on, as part of a trade. I don't think the full pic will be giving anyone unpleasant dreams. :D

Now the pressure will be on to get the most use out of it, once it arrives. 2D animation, livestreams, and Zbrush might be good starting points...
