Need an NPC

So I need some volunteers for the first part of the Rain and Shine, so go ahead and toss down a reference.  In the case of multiple people I'll decide via random number generator.  Remember that if you will only get a single character in once.  To apply just put down the name of the character and a ref sheet for the sprite to represent you.

The NPC is the custom's agent seen at the beginning of the game.

Rain and Shine, June Update

So what you're going to see here is the new intro to the Rain and Shine game!  Including a few placeholders that I've put up to show the music and backgrounds, which by the way none of the art seen here except for the intro will be in the final product.  I may also go back and include a few more things but I wanted to show just how many new choices there were and how customizable this game really is.  One thing that made it slow was that I had to write all new scenes for this a...

NPCs needed for Rain and Shine

So as part of the overhaul for Rain and Shine I'm going to be having a lot more characters showing up.  As such I've decided to to open up to all of you have been particularly loyal.  Different tiers will allow for different slots, which are listed down here:

$25 tier - an NPC slot of significant interaction, complete with 4-pack of sprites of your character

$10 tier - a one-shot NPC with a single sprite

$5 tier - a brief cameo, probably just a name

In order ...

End of the Month Report, June 2019

Alright, first month of summer is on the books and what a month it's been.  As far as patreon support goes it's been very up and down, thanks to one big donation in particular we've managed to stay on the positive side of things and continue to grow a little bigger.  June itself was also full of ups and down as far as work has gone, certain events leading to road blocks while other times I've been striving to get further ahead on my writing as I could.  Unfortunately the shot t...

Mai and San'nauk don disguises in order to get into the server room of Frost Arc, along with the help of some new friends of the other team.  But security isn't going to stop at the front door and they'll find out that trying to steal the master key from a major corporation wasn't going to be easy, as well as a new meaning for the term restricted area.

Simon clues in that his symbiote destruction may not have gone according to plan, but at the same time he sees the writing on the wall that forces are at work conspiring to get rid of him.  Can he wrangle in the rogue symbiote and keep his job at the same time?

A Most Dangerous Game (6/10)

After the legion attack on Frost Arc the entire facility is in lockdown, which means our team needs to get creative in order to find a way in.  Luckily more downtime means that more people are in the DREAM, which exactly where Magus and his team look to find someone to help.

Things get stranger for Simon when he attempts to liberate the symbiote to prevent it's destruction.  However things don't go quite to plan, but after a botched transfer it appears that he managed to escape with his job and his life.  What he doesn't realize is that he also escaped with something else as well.

Huge thank you to all

If you are reading this, I just want to say thanks for all the support so far coming into what will soon be the second anniversary of my patreon being here (Oct).  I keep looking at that number and wondering wow, what an honor to be able to see that you guys enjoy my work so much that you want me to keep going at this on a full-time basis.  To be honest I thought after a year I might have to start looking for jobs again but you guys help keep me from focusing my full attention on th...

Mai, Zakerst, and Ailsa go to the apartment of Zemira in order to get any and all data pertaining to the quest for the master key.  Fun ensues with the use of mods on their Symsuits, but as they frolic a new threat comes knocking on their door.

Workplace Bonding (1/8)

Simon is a researcher in a job that he hates; the hours are long, the pay is minimal, the co-workers are a pain and his boss as well as subsequent bosses above him make his work next to impossible.  The only redeeming feature is his work on living organisms designed in a lab that can augment human abilities both physically and mentally.  Even that is kept on a tight tether though, so when his curiosity found that one of these 'symbiotes' had the potential capacity for thought it put...

Shift in Secondary Game?

So normally when I'm beating my head against the wall for Rain and Shine I like to work on a different game just to clear my head a bit, and normally that game is Planetary Adaptation.  As you know though I've been wanting to do a psych horror game for quite some time now and as of recent the idea for a Bal'Kar themed game in the same vein of Call of Chtulu was conjured, with the idea of the same investigative mechanics and steadily decreasing sanity only with everyone's favorite tentacl...

Purge Commencing

So I'll be getting rid of a lot of old posts here coming in the next few days/weeks, mostly old stuff along with a number of stories that have already been posted.  The stopping point is going to be January of this year and I won't be deleting anything that hasn't been posted to FA yet, but if there's something that you want to save that's really old I would do it sooner rather than later!

A Most Dangerous Game (4/10)

Meanwhile back in the game Ailsa and Vosh try to make drow sorceress more open to giving up information about Frost Arc while they play, and though they don't necessarily get what they want they do find out some things that should help them in the future.  All they needed was a tentacle plant trap, a corrupted symbiote, and some downtime with one another.

A Most Dangerous Game (3/10)

Back in the real world Mai and her crew use their new Symsuits and the information they gained from the guys in the game to try and find their first viable lead in Frost Arc to the master key.  Anoni and San'nauk take point and find the barbarian known as Brute, but it's not quite what they were expecting and it takes a little bit of finesse in order to get what they want out of him.

Cleaning up patreon posts?

So I've been thinking about going back and cleaning up old posts, mainly old polls, announcements and things, but also possibly story stuff that I've uploaded to FA/SF and old versions of Rain and Shine as well.  Wanted to get your guy's opinion on it.

A Most Dangerous Game (2/10)

Meanwhile in the game another group is working actively to use the information given to them by Mai and the others in order to get what they need to find the master key.  Luckily for them two of their targets happen to be playing an adult module and they split their group in order to try and get both at the same time.  Magus, Vyrnen, and Havok make their way with a headstrong barbarian trying not to get turned into a demon... though for the three that was exactly what the plan entai...

Rain and Shine May Update

Alright, so this is mostly the May Update to Rain and Shine, everything should work as its supposed to and things of that nature.  The only thing is that there are a few more descriptions that I have to work on but whether its sickness or allergies or something like that I've been feeling like garbage lately and not getting everything done, plus this was a big, BIG module to the point I may make this a phase two mission instead of a potential headquarters.  If you find any bugs let ...

Dialogue Choices:

So a question for Rain and Shine with the overhaul, do you enjoy actively participating in conversations (i.e. dialogue choices) or do you prefer to have all that summed up for you?  Right now the game gives your actions instead of a response to any dialogue and I'm wondering if it should remain like that or give you more opportunity to converse now that I know how menu flow works.

(P.S. currently playing through the new module to get out all the wrinkles, should be active by tomor...

A Most Dangerous Game (1/10)

When the hottest new game comes out for the IR (immersive reality) system a savvy tech sees an exploit that could possibly make not only her but her fellow crewmates incredibly rich.  Unfortunately it will require much more than a simple breaking in to a facility, in order for them to pull this off they not only have to get into the advanced Symsuits and risk their lives but also work with another crew within the game itself.  Can the two sides work together to get the master key, o...

Reward Tier changes

So as you know I've been thinking about changing a few things up on my reward tiers, and this is what I have so far.  Changes will not be implemented right away as most of these will only happen once I've cleared down my commission queue and thus freed up the time for them.

$1 - no changes

$3 - Addition of a twine-based CYOA where those on the reward tier can choose things like what paths are included, creatures involved, etc.

$5 - Elimination of patreon-only live...

End of Month report, May 2019

So as some of you know I had a twenty-four hour stream that I just recovered from, so apologies on this being a little late as well as one or two other things.  But in any case let's get right on to May, shall we?

So a lot of high notes in May; not only did a lot of writing get done as far as commissions were concerned and a lot of posting happening here on patreon but we also hit a hundred patreons!  Unfortunately June is quarterly taxes so I don't have much in the way to cel...

What scares you most in a psychological horror?

Been thinking about the scary game again and was wondering what scares you the most when it comes to a psychological horror game.

(I just realized I put two similar ones, the first player losing control is where the game starts playing for you and the second is that you aren't able to make certain choices or that the game pigeon-holes you into having to do something.)
