I have a news crew coming in at 7am tomorrow, so I woke up at 5 today so I'd be better able to deal with an early morning tomorrow. I spent a but of time working on a new shirt.
My wife sent me a photo of a t-shirt about a mythical candy cane factory that someone is selling. That idea lead to this design.
I am still questioning "Sugar is Strength" I like most of the rest of the drawing, even the shadows on the cane, but is that motto funny enough.
It needs to be short and sw...

I know I read this on this podcast. But I thought you'd like to see it for yourself it just put a smile on my face. Sometimes you measure success from the feedback of experts.

Greg reads a letter from a fan who's an expert in Ham, talks about the flavors of Christmas, and talks about marketing and how a space defines a business.
I guess just another week at Lofty Pursuits

I thought you'd like to see the final candies. We started packing them today, so they may ship this week, but around the 4th or 5th is more likely.
Don't worry if they sell out, we're working on our second round of them.

Hanukkah is coming early this year, Just a few days after Thanksgiving (about the earliest it can fall, so URI thought it would be fun to make some Dreidel Image candy in the flavor of a Blueberry Sufganiyot (a blueberry traditional donut that is just yummy.)The side of the dridel shown is the Hebrew letter "Hay", which in the game means you get take half the pot, The other half of the bag is for everyone else to enjoy :)Sadly our kitchen is not Kosher, so these are...

We have seen that some folks have been gaming the system. They have been joining here, getting access to the codes to get the Tangerine Sours and leaving before the month is over so they won't have to actually pay the membership fees.
We are trying to set up some rules that will keep you having access, and filter out .. well some people.
I feel what they are doing spoils the spirit of the wonderful support so many of you long time supporters have given. Its not fair to those of yo...

This is divided into to courses (bags)
Course one: Savory
Ham: A fine Virginia ham, served candied. I mean what else would we do.
Sweet Corn: Fresh off the farm this corn will evoke memories of buttery goodness.
Sweet Potato Casserole: with marshmallows and a little cinnamon.
Beet: Earthy and yummy. It was g...

Two secret links just for you.
Thanksgiving assortment.
In years past we've had trouble getting all the flavors we wanted into a bag. This year we are solving that by making this a double bag assortment. Two bags, each with about 5-6 flavors in it to make sure you get two courses of candy goodness. Shipping in about a week.

You know, sometimes we fall behind. It's the curse of making things by hand. Our shipping times right now are 1-2 weeks. Possibly a bit more. We just sent out a special code to our $5 and up Patreons that will get them put to the top of the stack.
Now a warning here. If the candy needs to be made, this might not make things much faster, but most of the time is because there are 700 orders before yours (Which is the case when I write this). In this case it will speed things up pote...

What do you think? They are hard enamel. Yes they are a keychain. The metal is not grey, it is silver like the cans. I'm going to put them up in a few days. First to you all of course.

As we get backed up regularly, we are working on a priority shipping system with a code for Patreon member. I'm still trying to get the tech to work, so no promises until I do, but I think I can. I figure why should you wait when we get a rush. You still have to we are behind on making candy. But it should work out well if we can make it happen.

We're doing the thanksgiving assortment a bit different. It will be a two bag assortment. It is so hard to make sure everyone gets some of each flavor, we doubling the size of the assortment and that means two bags.
You guys here will be able to pre-order it at least a few days early. Probably before we've finalized the flavors. This is from last year (or the year before) most flavors will return, some new ones will be here. It will be $11.99 for two bags, but heck, it's two bags. ...

Well we are on the new site comfortably. All of the orders on the old system were recovered by 5pm today. Today I integrated the new system into the backed, so we can do things like print postage and packing slips. I got the internal bar code system working (Something I've wanted for a long time.) and I'm working on confirmation e-mail copy that some of you might have seen the start of.
We have all candy for orders we've received, but we're about to use a new untested system so I expect...

You know, you start the weekend with great intentions. Two major projects. Migrate PD.net to a new shopping cart system, and edit a candy video that should have gone up two weeks ago.
Then the weekend says:
"You really need to research the connections between the ending of the Viking Era, the conversion of England from Orthodoxy to Catholicism, the editing of a tapestry to possibly change the political message of history, and the start of French rule of England. Of course all of t...

I set a limit on how many tins it would sell of these. This is a fake limit. I want you to hit it and I want to see what it shows you, and me.
So if you get this, it will be made live again shortly, I just need to test things and you are getting early access but there is a price. You are a test subject. Possibly the software equivalent of a crash test dummy.
I also did not mention that I got all the data off the old server, but any order we got yesterday has to be processed by han...

The candy is not alive. Halloween is coming up, but even we would not do that.
A lot of coding later and we think we've got it up on a new server. Shopify.
I like this. I'll never have to wake up in the middle of the night to repair a computer again.
That being said it needs to be real world tested.
The site is up at shop.pd.net (Before we move the domain, this is a temporary fix)
