Hi Deluxe Tier!

Here's some new WIPs.

1. XXX-Mas Poste Sketch: It's almost December, so I want to make some Christmas art. Here, I drew Poste wearing a Santa outfit. This will have a uncensored version that doesn't hide anything.

2. Tsunade WIP. I added color to the sketch. This will have a few alts, namely a huge boobs alt and a messy alt. I think I might add more hue variation too. It's a little too red for my taste.

Art Tip: Choosing Shadow Colors

Hi everyone. Happy Art Tip Tuesday!

Here's a tip on choosing shadow colors. Instead of just lowering the brightness, also increase the saturation and change the hue to another color. Which color you change to can depend on the background and light source, but a good rule of thumb is to change the shadow color toward blue on the color wheel. So if the object is orange, shift toward red. If it's cyan or green, move to blue. This will make your shadow colors more vibrant.

Art Tip: Types of Shadows

Hi everyone. Happy Art Tip Tuesday!

Here's some notes on shadows. Form shadows are soft when the form is round and cast shadows are hard. There can be soft cast shadows under certain conditions, which I can cover later. I usually make the artistic choice to have cast shadows be hard when they are on a figure, but sometimes I'll soften them if I think it works better.

Contact shadows are often overlooked but adding it in brings a lot to the render if you ask me. It's a subtle thing...

Here's updated WIPs for this week's artworks.

1. Melony Christmas Pinup: I added the lighting and started rendering. I'm going for a Christmas card look.

Art Tip: Shading with Hard and Soft Edges

Hi everyone.

Here's a new art tip.

I've seen beginner artists rely on soft shading too much sometimes. Shading with too many soft or blended edges makes a drawing look blurry. Not every edge has to be blended. I think shading with all hard edges is generally accepted as good. It's pretty much cel shading, like Wind Waker or most anime, where all the colors are hard edged. Mixing both hard and soft is more advanced and is closer to how real shadows are.

Poste Fullbody Turnaround GIF

Hi Deluxe tier,

Here's an animation of a Poste turnaround.

This was a warm up project I did this past week. I wanted to see if I could animate a fullbody turnaround that looks 3D. For a rough animation, I think I did okay. This is great practice for drawing the full figure in perspective. Here's some stuff I worked on since Sunday.

1. OCs Walking Sketch. I don't know what to call this sketch. I had the idea to make a poster, something I could potentially sell as a large print in the future, with all my OCs. I guess it was inspired by the Beatles' Abbey Road album cover, but not exactly, more so just the composition of people walking single file in a direction. Art Tip: Softening an Edge

Happy Art Tip Tuesday everyone.

Here's some methods for softening an edge. Next to each one, I included a stroke of the brush I used so you can find something similar in your program of choice.

I also added a bonus tip for blending skin, but I think that will need it's own more in-depth explanation in the future.
