April Sketch Jam Topic!

Hello everyone! Thank you SO much everyone that voted for the 'Battle Maid' topic!!

Legiana Alpha Set

So! I sketched this commission during one stream. Then I cleaned the sketch and colored it on another stream. 

ONLY THIS TIME... I forgot to save and closed he document once the stream was over. Couldn't find a recovery file of the piece. Thankfully I'm finally getting into a system again on coloring this way so retracing my steps only took half the time. Took a little better care in the details as well, since I was able to work in silence.

HR Zinogre Armored Luli

I was commissioned to draw a FFXIV character in Monster Hunter armor again! I actually drew this character before in this armor set, but they had difficulty handling the great sword.

This is a new version where she's quite adept at the short sword and shield!

Magical Girls!!

A commission that I was able to work on from start to finish on stream. (not all in one go, unfortunately) 

The characters are based off several players in a game like Dungeons and Dragons, but with a Magical Girl theme. Sorry, the name of the game is lost on me. I was so happy to draw something cute and fun like this. :)

Thought I'd show the the work process of the card up until the colored rough edits! I couldn't attain the realism they were looking for, so that is something I will definitely work on this year. 

Orion

A D&D sketch commission of a halfing sorcerer. 

Client wanted him to look a bit scruffy, like some kind of short shady guy you wouldn't want to cross in a dark alleyway. I never drew a halfing before and didn't realize they were more closer to hobbit appearance wise!

The coin is his magical focus, and I loved adding a little rat peaking out of his coat. Also that's supposed to be a boomerang on his back, but looking at it now I probably should have added more info to make it app...

Colored sketch commission I worked on stream! 2 Miqo'tes and an Au Ra decked out in hunters gear, with their Carbuncle comrades along for the hunt.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

For this month's theme, we decided on a Gold Brush Patreon's character of choice enjoying their favorite drink.

I drew each character individually in stream, then combined them in the end to make a huge table where everyone's just chilling. I had a drink myself while sketching this, it made for a a more lively stream on my end, haha. Although I haven;'t watched the video since to see if I made an ass out of myself. ><

Aedos Process

From sketches to finalization! I kind of did this piece differently by painting it in grayscale first then adding color later. I tried to create a better focus on lighting this way. 

Aedos

A commission that I had to slowly work on during my streams. Thankfully the client was generously patient. ><

Their character was a high class Elezen that wasn't afraid to show off her more 'rough side'. Originally the idea was to have her holding a bloody pelt or a the head of her latest kill while still wearing pristine armor. but we opted for something a bit more subtle; a couple sawed off fangs would do!

Since she's a resident of Ishgard we though a couple white chobobo plumes ...

MC Concepts

Some development sketches for main character from a project I cannot name yet, haha.

She was described as a woman who can give off a Lightning from FFXIII vibe, so I tried to hone in on that!

For February we settled on a Valentine's Day Theme for a character of their choice. Patrons settled on a Valentine's Day outfit or sketching how their character spends that special day!   

I pretty much sketched this character as is, but the Patron suggested a cupid motif as this character would be more interested in match making other people than for herself. I apologize the the sketch is too straight forward but i very much enjoyed sketching her. :)

I want to get my Patrons more involved in a fun way! I'm going to start holding sketch jams on the public Discord and letting you, the Patrons, be the judges and pick the winners each time. I will showcase the entries on Twitch and draw the winning sketch live. Patrons can also join, if they wish!

Mermaid

I tried sketching this mermaid OC in a seductive way but not too over the top as I was drawing this live on Twitch, haha. One of the viewers suggested her tail curled in a beckoning motion and that was such a fun idea to draw!

I got a request for a more somber piece, where a character is currently alone and reflecting on his previous relationship. It was great to try and switch gears from fun flirty stuff to the other side this day can bring to those who are alone.

Always fun to sketch this character! She's a bit of a tomboy and I wanted to try to capture her looking a bit embarrassed acting so cute. 

Not So Sweets

This Patron had an adorable animation of their character munching on some cookies. They requested that I sketch her reaction as if one of the cookies tasted like garbage, haha! 

Odagaron Heart Hunter

For February we settled on a Valentine's Day Theme for a character of their choice. Patrons settled on a Valentine's Day outfit or sketching how their character spends that special day!

This was a request for a Patron's Odogaron set from MHW to fit a Valentine's aesthetic. We added more hearts, cut some more holes in the armor, and made the face mask a bit more friendly. I know the Odogaron doesn't have ears but I think puppy ears helped sell the cute flirty factor, haha. 

Poison Ivy

Last year I was able to color some beautiful line art from my former boss and colleague, Art Thibert. 

At the time I tried to color her a bit more softly than I usually did and keep the colors relatively flat and simple. That way the line art didn't get lost under tons of effects and lighting!

I wanted to give this particular character a more mystical look as she's a fae creature. :) I got stuck on her redesign for a while, but in the end I had fun with the design.

I was told to take this character into any direction. For some reason I wanted to give her a really cute outfit. I was thinking of Christie Monteiro from the Tekken series when designing her.
