Vent pieces are always interesting.
Always have trouble being a beginner again, because after pursuing something else for so long you realise that you forgot what it was like. Music is of particular difficulty for me because it is so far removed from the visual arts. The framework for its theory is completely different and any skills you have with the visual arts have basically zero application in the realm of music composition. The stuff hits you real hard and I find it very easy to ge...

Painting mountain scenery continues to be equal parts fun, invigorating, frustrating, and nightmarish. It's hard for me to articulate, but I think the shapes caused from the exposed rock showing from under snow are incredibly subtle and hard to capture easily and quickly; you just have to spend time rendering every little crevasse and ridge.
On the flip side, I do now at least have one more piece of Kathid and Lis actually, like, flying, and with Kath's new ike anatomy too. Hopefully I ...

Something of early access, I suppose. For the record, I'm not into dronification or latex beyond what they are now as a mental exercise for my design/concept skills.
So following a commission by Meredith earlier this year I ended up growing really attached to the guerrilla fighters in the background, and decided to take it to a proper design extent the same way I did with Shock Army...

With permission from @Taborlin123, I got to parody their PSA about fantasy TTRPG gear and give it a +700 scifi spin.
Favourite is, of course, motherfucker unlimited on the right.

An experiment to bring Black influence into +700 fashion sense. Found that the muted colours of the latter allowed bold accent of the former, and the end result ended up being a pretty good balance that wasn't too skewed in one direction or the other. Still, I mostly worked with a Japanese priest-like kimono on the part of the +700 side of things, so trying other "templates" will yield more interesting results, I reckon.
Of course, I would be interested in doing more of these, especiall...

Keen viewers will note that, indeed, the Honda Clarity's aesthetic is Extremely Me.
Gloss and metal, especially chrome, has been a pain in the arse for me to render in the past - so I'm trying to get as much practise in as I possibly can.
What was very interesting about this car was that its A-pillar (the front pillars next to the windscreen) are incredibly shallow. Normally, the A-pillars of a saloon car like this would eventually intersect with the centre of the wheel, but with ...

SORRY FOR SPAMMING THIS REPEATEDLY but it is a piece I'm pretty alright with the outcome.
You've probably noticed that I've been using this gouache brush a fair amount recently - I think it puts me in a good mindset about how to render. These gouache brushes are, by nature, difficult to blend, and so I'm forced to stop worrying about blending colours and getting specific gradients, and instead concentrate on getting large blocks of colour and value down on the canvas first. It's proving...

Some experimentation with some Kyle Webster guache brushes. I'm alright with the brushes and my application of them, but I don't think I did a really good job with the form of his head and anatomy.
