“What do you mean there are three Roaches?” Kim hissed. “How are there three?”

Dragon cranes continued to attack the military caravan, swooping in and picking off women around us while they tried to get the trucks moving over the roughly cleared wilds.

Pratt had ordered the line forward, and there was some progress, but it was slow.

SSV4 Chapter 36

We paused by the lake, hoping to meet up with Daeva.

Pratt was still a ways away, and we were well clear of the city.

There wasn’t as much need to hide, so I chopped down large trees and made the mother of all bonfires. It would keep us warm and help Daeva to find us.

The Obsidians had retracted to just the main three that had come with Prime after realizing I was going to carry the trucks the whole way.

I had to make two more stops before the infestation in Point City was cleared, leaving Pratt and Roach as my last two targets.

I let out a breath. It was gruesome work, but it had to be done.

Rather than throw my consciousness again and reform the body, I flew through the air towards the BSH, landing on the steps. The building felt foreign to me rather than returning to a job that I’d left almost two weeks ago. I’d changed quite a bit during my time in New Haven.

The cloud of death peeled back from Point City, and where it had spread was suddenly silent. All life had been smothered by the Fenris Wolf.

As the cloud pushed back, the scarred face of the Fenris Wolf appeared and it snarled at me.

Then its howl shifted slightly, and the dead city began to come back to life, only in the most terrifying way as people stood up like marionettes with their strings plucked.

The next several days, we spent our time rebuilding homes by day and resting together at night.

Stella had become determined, and I wasn’t holding back as she often rode me into the wee hours of the morning with a giddy smile.

The side of the city where I’d been fighting the titan was clear; the presence of such a terrifying monster had caused any townspeople to quickly try to move away.

I raked my power outside the city, smashing and crushing the forest along with the monsters present.

There was no need to hold back at that point. It was a fight to save the city.

SSV 4 Chapter 29

I was flying over New Haven with Daeva, keeping my power extended to see the world in a grayscale.

Daeva had good vision, but it wasn’t great in the dark.

New Haven was darker than the nights in the city; there were no lights for miles. Everything depended on the moon for light, and it was only a thin crescent in the sky as I carried Daeva through the air.

Getting out of the manor proved harder than I’d been expecting.

Kim had clung to me, throwing everything she had at me to get me to stay. The desperate super was very unlike the director that I’d come to know.

In the end, I hadn’t brought anyone from Point City to help in the hunt for Roach. If he started to realize that Point City BSH and the gods of New Haven were working together, I feared it would spook him and we’d never find him if he hid himself in the wilds.
