Adriana if you'll remember was a yoga instructor before she became the tank of Ajax's group. In the art I'm having done it's each of the girls outside the game. Different artist than the one that did Missy. I like this one better and started her rolling on doing a number of the girls now.

“What’s wrong with my eye?” I pulled my phone out of my pocket and flipped the camera around to see myself.
“Your eye is a slitted pupil.” She said, but I barely heard her as I looked at the phone. Staring back at me was exactly what she said. My eye looked like a serpent’s eye. It was a dark, nearly black iris, with a faint gold outline that pulsed in time with my heartbeat.
“No way.”
“Way.” She chuckled behind me. It was a strange sound mixed with her b...

Jadelyn eventually calmed down, and the calm aristocratic mask fell back on her face. I gave her an extra moment to collect herself before we headed back to Bumps in the Night. I hoped that Morgana had found better luck than we did when she talked with the other pack.
“You know, a vampire owning a nightclub is kind of cliche.” I said, going to open the door.
“Do not say that to Morgana’s face.” Jadelyn warned me with a shake of her head. “Almost like you’d want her t...

“Order, order.” An older male elf stood, and the lights from the other side of the ring caught his front, giving me a quick glimpse of him.
For that brief moment, I thought it was a sober Simon, but I realized that the elf before me stood mature and sure of himself, instead of a brat drowning his worries in a bottle. But they easily could be brothers from the resemblance.
“We have the matter of great importance. Weres were found using vampires to produce drugs for humans. Wo...

It was hard to make out much through the scope. The inside of the plant was dark, except for an area that had been cleared out and lit with the kind of floor lamps used around construction sites. Between the lamps, clear plastic tents were set up and nearly empty.
Workers hurried about, packing up the last of the paper-wrapped bricks and shoving them into an assortment of bags, from your standard gym bag to a hard shelled suitcase. There was no uniformity, almost like they’d gone barg...

I strolled into Bumps in the Night. The bar wasn’t quite as laid back as it had been the last time I was there. Vampires and what looked like goblins were busy bustling about on the stage, setting it up for some sort of show. The goblins climbed easily through the stage light frames, testing each one and checking the equipment. Meanwhile, the vampires did the heavy lifting of getting everything into place
Every now and then, one would pull a wrench from their tool belt and adjust some...

Normally I wasn’t a clothing guy, but I had to say I felt pretty good as I walked into biology wearing some of my purchases from the day before. My new jeans looked better now that I’d put on more muscle mass, and the simple white shirt with my new favorite leather jacket made me feel a bit more armored.
The classroom was the same as it had been for the last few weeks, the same cheap linoleum tiles, white with black splashes to hide scuffs, and cheap stadium seating. But I had chang...

The apartment door thumped closed behind me, and I was in such a stupor I tried to lock it twice.
I felt like I was in a daze, but I’d grieved enough before to recognize what was happening. I was grieving for the loss of my former life. Even if I was able to keep some of the normalcy, with what I now knew, I wouldn’t be able to approach the world the same way again. There was no going back to the way things used to be.
And if the change itself wasn’t bad, now somehow this ne...

While we waited for the book to come, I dug into the food that had arrived. I couldn’t believe the assortment of delicious food in front of me. They’d prepared a medallion of perfectly cooked filet mignon, accompanied by a side of creamy mashed potatoes. Next to it sat a plate of golden-cooked salmon. And next to that was a simple bowl of spaghetti. I wasn’t sure where to begin as I dug in, but the food seemed to vanish in no time. Morgana just watched me, a smile on her face, as I devo...

“Hold on for a second. I didn’t even touch Simon. Why would we fight to the death?”
“You stood up to him, and now his pride is hurt. Elves are very old-fashioned; they hold on to their honor as if it were worth more weight than dragon’s gold.” Morgana explained. “I should know. I’ve seen just what they look like when their masks are peeled off, away from the public eye.”
I looked at Jadelyn for confirmation. She’d calmed down, her eyes once again a chilly blue....

We only walked about fifteen minutes off campus before we came upon the bar that Jadelyn had intended, but it was clearly part of the city and not the campus.
Steam rose from a vent in the sidewalk, as the warm subway air clashed with the chilly fall wind. You could hear the SEPTA roaring under our feet. Unlike campus, Philadelphia proper just felt a little grungier, more worn down. Most surfaces were covered in a layer of old coal power plant soot.
But that didn’t stop any of t...

I woke up as the sun streamed through the window. I stretched, blinking rapidly to try to bring the world back into focus.
Did my contacts fall out?
I felt for them and ended up pulling one out to look at it, but as I did, everything out of that eye became clear.
Blinking, I pulled the other contact out and stared at my room in awe. Things were clearer, crisper than they had ever been. My eyesight was twenty-twenty, maybe even better. Insane.
Slightly freaked out but a...

I walked back into my apartment, still thinking about the prospect of spending more time with Scarlett, but my phone pinged again with a reminder from Frank.
“Yeah, yeah. I won’t bail on you. Not like I have anything better to do tonight.” I muttered to myself as I put the phone down and looked in the fridge. It was pitifully empty, and I was reminded once again that I needed to do groceries.
The apartment was pretty basic, but there was a nice, open area for the two of us. ...

Title is a little TBD, still playing with a few ideas, but it will likely be Dragon 'TBD': An Urban Fantasy. Interestingly enough titles are one of the last things I finalize on my books :p
I put a WIP of this idea out at one point, but this is a new start to that same idea. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this one, I'm working through it and I think it's pretty interesting. Zach and his tag along 'beast' have a fun character arc.

“What is that?” Dar stared at the half man half spider devil.
Fire continued to rage from both sides of the ettercap fortress, filling Dar’s nose with the scent of smoke and obscuring his full view of the devil, but the smoke didn’t seem to stop it or even really concern it. The devil reminded Dar of a drider from table top games, but its human portion was unnatural pale with a face that was too bulbous to be human.
The devil focused his attention at that moment solely at ...

As one, the eighty some villagers left Hearthway into the southern forest. Their torches made great tools for burning through all the webs that they began encountering, with their first steps into the forest.
It had changed drastically in the week Dar had been away from it. The webs seemed to cast the whole forest in a gloomy, dying light as they passed by with their torches. Ettercaps and spiders fleeing from their group as the torch light illuminated their shadowy hiding spots.

“I’ve looked everywhere. He’s nowhere to be found. Nobody has seen him.” Kro’s mother looked like she was fraying at the ends of her sanity.
Dar bolstered himself with what mana he had left and looked to the two maids. “Let’s go hunt for him.”
Dar knew that Marcie and Amber weren’t going to be able to be much help with how weak their bodies were, so he first worked to get them back to the central hearth so they could eat food and work to regain some of their ener...

Dar wasn’t quite sure what to think about Rex’s comment. Rex had clearly meant it as a compliment, but Dar wasn’t sure how comfortable he was with that.
He’d like to rationalize it as a clear choice; the monsters were threatening his village, but Dar also had to admit he still had paused when the village was attacked when he’d first come to the world. Something in him had changed.
That thought lingered as he left to go meet up with the girls for another training session ...

“Boss!” A kid’s high-pitched voice broke into the meeting.
Dar looked down to see the miniature version of Glump, the only exception being his bright red hair.
“Kro. This is an adult conversation. Please go back to your mother.” Glump said steadily, and Dar could see the little kid deflate.
“I think we were about done, anyway.” Dar suggested, not wanting to get too in between a parent and their parenting.
The group nodded, and Bart stood, slapping his kne...

“It was for a good cause, I swear.” Dar gave her a quick kiss before taking a seat in their dinner circle.

The rest of the girls were already there, watching the two of them.

Bart’s men crawled off the last frame. They had used several days’ worth of lumber in a single day of framing, but now the village had rough frames for their homes and family units were starting to inspect and admire their soon to be living places.

Dar nodded, somewhat disappointed the work had completed so quickly...

Only a sliver of light made its way through the trees as the sun set beyond them, marking the edge of the river. Dar thanked his lucky stars that there hadn’t been any major hazards in the river itself.
“Drop the anchor.” Mika commanded Lou, who had awoken and had helped spot for any issues along the water. Dar had been lost in his own head.
“Come on.” Mika disengaged the boat’s enchantment, pulling Dar off the boat. The village had started stirring as they’d been sp...

Standing in the room were Mark and Margret. She was holding a knife to the prince’s throat while Mark stood boldly in front.
Both of them were deeply imprinted in his mind from his time in Bellhaven. Margret, the flirty woman with a crippled husband and Mark drooling in his wheelchair. Dar had felt so stupid when he’d trusted Margret enough to the point that she’d managed to drug him. Her husband then revealed to not be crippled at all.
Mark still had the haughty look Dar re...

The continuous clang of picks hitting stone sounded before Dar could even see Bellhaven’s quarry up ahead. The place was packed; several thousand workers sweating side by side working the quarry for all the stone it was worth.

Dar reached out, sensing what they were chipping away. Feeling a sense of familiarity, Dar instinctively knew the stone w...

Dar and Mika devoured the fish. As they finished, Mika stood up, walking towards the water. Curious, Dar watched as she waded into the water, pausing before diving and submerging below the surface for only a few seconds.
When she came back up, she held a handful of fish eggs.
Standing up, water dripped down her blue hair and toned body as she looked at him with eyes that smoldered as she took in his perusal of her body.
Knowingly, she swung her hips slightly as she walked ou...

“The one and only.” Kelly spoke up. “How’s Claire?”

The next two days went by quickly as the village banded together to get ready for winter. The villagers had adopted Dar’s approach to use coal to hollow out the boat, which had sped it up considerably. And food storages had been filled to the point that more was available for everybody in their day-to-day meals. Morale across the village was increasing; they actually stood a chance at making it through the winter.
Dar had focused on helping with the houses and heaters. They’d stoppe...

Dar woke up pleasurably and looked down between his legs. Marcie lay between his legs, sucking him off with her eyes closed. The last thing he wanted to do was startle her, so he just propped his head up and watched.
She was clumsy, but any oral sex was a treat as far as he was concerned. It wasn’t just the physical pleasure, but a smidge of his own male ego loved the dominance that came from it.
He let out a grunt as she circled the head with her tongue, causing her to look up ...
