ACR - Ch6 Bonus

This is a deleted sex scene from Chapter 6. It starts right after the ambush, and this is basically an alternate version of Chapter 6. There's also a little bit after the sex scene, as the post-ambush scene changes a little.

Year 1, Summer

Breakfast was simple this morning, as usual. Lyle spooned up his wheat porridge. Although he didn’t have any plans for heavy labor today, he’d been badgered into breaking into his meat reserves. A plate of grilled sausages sat in a bowl in the center of the dining table—he’d brought plenty of cured and smoked pork sausages with him. Protein was important, after all.

ACR - Ch4

The homestead felt like the best option to Lyle. Whatever advantages offered by the mine, they were outweighed by the draw of a simple home. Lyle’s mind wandered back to the idea of a quieter life.

If he was going to establish himself in one place, it was smart to take everything he could from the other locations. Most of what was at the lake could wait until he had built his new home, as it was furniture, but the guardhouse was of immediate interest.

The sun began to set, and Lyle finished up. The wolfgirls trotted off to the lake and cleaned themselves up, while Lyle kept things much simpler. He still didn’t trust the water here.

DT2 - Cover

It's Mina. Definitely more skin on show than many of my other covers. I also put up a side-by-side of both covers.

As you can tell (and as Messengers already know), I've changed artists for Demon's Throne. Everybody knows Caterina, and I intend to have her continue to do the covers for Heretic Spellblade - I absolutely adore the covers she has done for that series.

With that said, I do like my new artist...

DT2 - Ch3

Mina twisted back and forth in her room. The only thing protecting her modesty was the jacket of her robes—Rys recalled that it was called a haori. Her pale skin poked out from the gap between its folds, and her chest threatened to bare itself at any moment. Demon's Throne Mini-Serial - Vallis Ch1

This mini-serial is a slice-of-life piece that focuses on Vallis and takes place from Rys's point-of-view. It'll be a number of chapters depicting the growth of Vallis and some of the daily activities that take place in the palace, that will otherwise be glossed over in the books themselves.

Messenger Story Update

This is just a quick update on the status of the July stories. They'll be out very soon, but wanted to let people know since the schedule has been shot.

The first chapter in the Demon's Throne mini-serial should be up tomorrow, alongside a new chapter of DT2. I plan for the mini-serial to be Vallis-focused (from Rys's PoV) and slice of life, capturing a lot of the palace's daily activities that I'd otherwise skip over because it's unnecessary detail in the books.

HS3 - Commentary and Editing Notes

So the book is out and I hope people are digging into it and enjoying it, whether you read the early chapters or not. If you did, I hope you enjoy the changes and the chapters you didn’t see. It was nice to actually write a proper climax in a book for once (ha!).

This post will include broad commentary on Heretic Spellblade 3, including many of the editing decisions I made (and didn’t make). As such, it is loaded with massive spoilers. This is also a fairly long post.
