January End of Month Update

First I would like to apologize to everyone for the lack of updates this month. As many of you tried to warn us about the studio pushing so hard back in December to try to get this update complete we ended up just burning ourselves out.

We're not working again now at a pace more adjusted to us and we will be sure to not go this long without at least telling you all what's going on ever again.

It has been a bit demotivating how long this update has been taking us, but we're not giving up.

No more excuses we will continue to update the game and release something we're proud of and all of you will be happy with. This will make a better product for you all and us.

End of Year Update

Sadly we couldn't make it for the holiday season like we so hoped. The team went into overdrive to try to get it done but it wasn't possible. I hope you all can forgive us. But please understand, it hasn't been from lack of trying, above is a handful of the over 20 pieces of artwork created just for Vallory's H-Scenes alone.

We was not able to complete Alek in time but everyone here at AstroKaen will continue trying to push until we finish our previous work so that we can finally focus on new content alone. (Remasters of Flare, Sevros, and Karla artwork will be intertwined into new content updates)

Monster XXXperiment Almost Year Newsletter

I know it's been a long time, but I just want to say thanks to all of you for being so patient. I know it's been a long time, the latter part of the year was not kind to us at the studio. Having to spend months revamping a majority of the game's artwork, going through a lot of studio reorganizations, paying back tech debt for loose ends we skipped when we first released Monster XXXperiment almost a year ago now.

But we're still here and I know in the past if you did follow our studio for our previous games keeping our commitments have been a bit rocky. But all we want no matter what is to give the best to all of you the players. Without you all here supporting us and what we strive to create there wouldn't be an AstroKaen. 

We're finally seeing the end of the tunnel, there's only a bit more of artwork revamps needed to be done (the older CG's need to be redone with the new style of the newer CG's). But this can be accomplished along side giving you all new content and what you're all here for. To research Monster Girls and Boys!

Our goal for next year is to finally no longer look back and redo what has already been done. We're moving nothing but forward now, Monster XXXperiment's Beta version is in the works, content for Kin you were supposed to have months ago is finally being finished (I know you all want your Vallory and Alek CG's so bad by this point). Most of all content for the next set of Kin we've shown months ago is now in the active development pipeline.

There's so much to look forward to and I hope that you all haven't forgotten about us and is looking forward to it as well.

Vallory CG WIP

Monster XXXperiment New Cut-Ins WIP (Vallory)

Good Morning everyone!

It took us a long time to get to this point but the long wait is finally over, we're finally done remastering all of the character sprites and their designs so we can finally start on their CGs.

With this it's time to try out something we've been thinking about for some time that I feel will give a much appreciated boost to our lewd content.

We're now using manga panel like cut-ins for smaller actions that need highlights in our H-Scenes, I hope you all like it and the idea. 

We know Alek and Vallory are long over due for their scenes so we're hope this extra bonus will make the wait even more worth it. All of the previous characters will be getting this same treatment as well when we go back to remaster their H-Content.

Project Droidshop Progress Report #5

Hello once again everyone for another not exciting but still forward progress being made week. This week we implemented and was playing around for lighting systems in game. In the final game we want a lot of neons on the shop, maybe shining in through the window reflecting off of the girls, and while you're working on them with an overhead lamp.

While not the most exciting you can see that our girl has some color now! Next week we'll be working on the "Create a Droid" and Customer Generation Systems so be on the lookout!

[Current Behind the Scenes Development Work]

Hey everyone! As you know, a while ago I mentioned we were going to begin moving on to phase 2 of Monster XXXperiment's development. We’re still trying to figure out all of the logistics and putting all of the puzzle pieces together, but we’re hoping to have something to show for our next big version update by December (Monster XXXperiment’s 1 year anniversary!). I know development is taking some time but please be patient with us, we’re trying our best to make the best experience possible for all the players and supporters!

It feels surreal not having the next set of Kin in the game yet, so let me tell you the reason why. Right now we’re still heavily focusing on doing catch up work on Monster XXXperiment after the game’s original artist left the studio. We want to wait until all of our catch-up work is completed before releasing the next set of Kin because right now it’s just too much for our little team to handle. I can confidently say now that 100% of all of the character sprites are all remastered. We’re aiming for being able to release the next set of Kin by December but don’t hold us to that.

We're back on Friday I hope you all liked the double this week! LustFire has completed the basis for the model in game so now we're starting to see some progress! This week we'll be starting on basic animations for the droids, and working on the inventory system among other systems so stay tuned next week!

 Hello once again everyone sorry for being MIA the last 2 weeks and a half, I posted an update a few days ago informing everyone that I had the flu but now I'm returning to work.

Because of being missing this week I'm going to treat you all to 2 Progress Reports on Project Droidshop!

This week I'm showing you all all of the tools we're going to have for repair of our cybernetic women. The plan is for the player to unlock these tools throughout the game through purchasing them, this will allow the player to perform even more different repair types and see even more customers.

The list of tools is Hand, Wrench, Screwdriver, Blow Torch, Scrub, Bolt Cutter, Zoom, and Damage Assessment.

This Progress Report also comes with a Prototype that Nebula Tier and higher supporters can play around with and leave us feedback!

Vallory Coloring WIP

Back to work starting off strong, Alek's and Vallory's Sprites remasters are almost complete, all that's left is the CG's and then we'll finally be caught up after remastering the games artwork.

Thank you so much for being patient with us I know we've gone awhile without brand new content, but it's all for the sake of the game's Second Year of production starting off strong.

I hate the Flu

Sorry for the lack of uploads and content everyone for the last 2 weeks. I caught the Flu and god damn it kicked my ass harder than Covid. I'm feeling much better now and will begin normal progress reports starting today.

A lot of progress has been made in Project Droidshop so be on the lookout for that!

Since I was down with the Flu I couldn't finish the Monster XXXperiment update for this month, as usual I will send the update in a message to supporters who couldn't get to play it this month.

Coloring Alek WIP

Sorry for absent in posts, wanted to give some time for my artists to get a bit more work done. (Last week was Levy's the person who colors the sprites and sketches the CG's birthday, and SanZhang the one who does the line art and the new designs for Monster XXXperiment's artwork was moving earlier last week as well so wanted to give him time to settle in!)

Project Droidshop Progress Report #2

Hey everyone here is our weekly progress report for Project Droidshop. Last weeks post has been made available to the public.

This week still mainly a humble start. Sorting out all of the tools that the player will be able to unlock to make their repair job easier and do higher quality repairs of our cybernetic ladies. 

Right now it's just point in click but in the future we plan to have the player perform different mouse movements to use the tool effectively. You can also see a radar like item that tells you the status of each body part to further help improve and increase repair speeds.

New Range of Expressions and Emotions

Hey Everyone!

Monster XXXperiment is a bit hard to update about currently since one of my artist is moving and Phase 2 of the game is still in the planning stages right now but I do want to share this.

So far we have been able to achieve a nice range of emotions from the Monster XXXperiment cast but we felt as though this can be improved even further. Above is an example of one of Alek's new expressions.

In terms of the next update don't worry everyone it's coming this months update is still more on the polish side rather than content side since the Incubus and Rabbit stories aren't fully written just yet.

But there will be new content none the less, Karla and Sevros will be receiving new content, along with their updated artwork as I've been showing.

In terms of process on the art remaster, the game now only has Alek's Harem sprites to remaster and then all of the CG's so far, after that's all done then we'll be finally finishing Alek's and Vallory's CG's for you all and then we're done doing remaster work and can move forward with the game!

Project Droidshop Progress Report #1

I'm going to try to make this an every Friday thing, all of our lovely patrons will receive the progress report a week before a public devlog. Also as prototype versions of the project becomes available Nebula and above supporters will be able to play and give us feedback.

Humble starts, right now we're setting down the foundation and framework of the repair system. We plan to have multiple different tools the player has to unlock to perform different types of repairs. While everyone will use the basic standing model for some repairs the 5 characters with storylines you can go after will have repairs scenes at different angles.

Introduction

Hello Everyone!

Kaen here with some hot news. Over the last few weeks I've been posting some teasers of a possible return of Melting Point. Well let me get the disappointment out of the way first Melting Point will not be returning just yet. Now hold up before you click off let me explain myself quickly.

Melting Point Pt.1

As you all know by now Melting Point had a couple of production issues, being our studio's first ever project Melting Point went through a lot. Admittedly I wasn't ready to manage a project at the scale of Melting Point as well at the time. Melting Point's biggest issues was finances, there wasn't enough money left to keep paying everyone and after the public demo release in March of last year the game didn't generate enough money for production to continue at that very moment. This as you can see ended with LustFire the primary artist of Melting Point and Goblins Can Save the Day! leaving the studio for some time. However...

LustFire's Return

If LustFire left the studio originally why did he return you may ask? Well it's quite simple, I asked him to. LustFire and I were never on bad terms after how everything ended, we're both just guys trying to find our place in the world. There was only 1 person who could bring this new project idea to light and that was him.

New Project Droidshop

That new project being Project Droidshop! In the last 2 months I was approached by an indie programmer named Kurushō who played Melting Point and loved what we did with the repair mini-game and Tin's interactions in dialogue, which inspired him to  want to create his own H-Game. We begun talking and eventually we realized that a lot of the ideas for a game he wanted to create was already a few ideas present in Melting Point!

Play as an innocent Blacksmith who's just trying to get by in this harsh city. Earn money and buy new equipment to become the best Cybernetic Repair Shop in Town!

Project Droidshop Synopsis: In a futuristic Dystopia everyone has a job to do to make a living. Yours? You run a repair shop who repairs broken androids and the the robotic limbs of cyborgs. Repair, improve, and bond with the different individuals who enter your shop in search of repairs, upgrades, and even just companionship.

Planned Gameplay Features (Subject to Change):

• Story Mode - Play through 30 day story where you live through a snippet of your life. Along the way you may make some chance encounters with a few special individuals.
• Endless Mode - Play through the game endlessly until you run out of cash and you have to close down shop! 
• Create a Droid - Pop open the character creator and create your perfect Cyberpunk Cybernetic Waifu!
• Sex sex sex! - Wether its a customers who's buttons you pressed just right, or your own Cybernetic Waifu it's time to have some fun!

How do you all like the sound of that? While it's not a 1:1 it is close enough where I kind of see this project as Melting Point's successor in some ways. This project has been in pre-production for the last 2 months and starting now I can confidently say it's in active production alongside Monster XXXperiment.

Melting Point Pt.2

But why did you bait and switch us with Tin like Melting Point is returning? Well because Melting Point is still making plans to return both LustFire, Myself, and the rest of AstroKaen wants to complete that project but our vision of it is far too grand to complete it currently. But...what if we could bite size down that vision a bit? Project Droidshop is currently in active development and it's using a lot of assets and programming that was initially left over from Melting Point as a basis such as it's Visual Novel like system, and ideas from its repair mini-game. So what does that mean? Well in my eyes that means that once Project Droidshop, a much smaller game in comparison is complete we can use some of the systems created here and use it as framework for those same systems in Melting Point in the future!

Project Droidshop Development

Now that Project Droidshop is in active development I will be posting a combination of public and Patreon only exclusive content once a week. Nebula and higher tier Patrons will be able to play early prototype builds of Project Droidshop as they become available. The difference compared to Melting Point is that our plan for Project Droidshop is to lead up to a Kickstarter so we can get all of the funds to complete and commit to completing the project all at once, rather than hoping on Patreon to become a super success (However if the latter happens we wouldn't need to create a Kickstarter). This way we don't plan to take any money from you guys (Prototypes for Nebula or above just being an add-on to benefits already given to those tiers) until we know that the project will be completely funded.

Will this affect production of Monster XXXperiment in anyway?

No. The teams for both projects are for the most part different except for the writer. Lustfire and Kurusho are the Artist and Programmer for Project Droidshop, while SZ, Levy, and Dragoon are the Artists and Programmer for Monster XXXperiment. WhiteFeather as of right now will be writing for both projects.

Conclusion

I hope you all are excited for what's to come next out of our studio. We're working extremely hard to find a place in the market and all of your hearts and we hope you continue to enjoy our content.
