Desert Escape

When the Trex spotted her in the open desert, she knew she was in trouble. She figured the rex would give chase, but she did not expect how persistent it would be. After almost an hour of running through the harsh, hot desert, she tried to take some cover in some ruins. The rex was right on her tail though. As the beast approached her, she made no more efforts to get away. She was exhausted and ready for this rex to be her escape from the desert.

Crystal Craft

Ever wonder how they make those crystal skulls? Its not as straight forward of a process as you might think. But if you play your cards right, they make a killing at the local markets.

Suuuuper happy with how this series came out. Fun fact: I made the skulls and the sacrificing pole! And they actually came out pretty good too! I do need to do a better job at texture mapping, but I can at least fake it for my purposes pretty well.

Upgrade is (finally) done!

It has not been an easy week. I ran into an issue at almost every step of the way getting a new motherboard, processor, and SSD into this thing. But last night I finally got my main programs working again. It runs a little hot for my liking, though I'm slowly tuning it to hopefully not be too bad. In the future I hope to get a custom liquid loop for this, and that should deal with the heat.

Out of commission for a short time

I was attempting to upgrade my PC's motherboard, and a resistor broke off the back. I'm going to try and solder it, and if that works then all will be good. If not, then I'll put everything old back in and get up and running again.

I might be down a few days while I get this all figured out.

Update: I decided not to risk soldering, so I've ordered a new motherboard. The good news is i got my old stuff back into the case and working, so I'll be able to do the monthly ima...

Divine Meeting (1 & 2)

This is a bit of a follow up to the last journal I posted. Thanks for all of the replies, I know I didn't reply to nearly all of them but I certainly read all of them. I'm surprised that its a nearly 50/50 split on outright leaving and staying.

Need Some Advice

I am very, very seriously considering quitting my retail job.

I've simply had it. From dealing with the risk of covid exposure to working with customers who don't seem to care, I simply can't do it anymore. Even today, a day where my customers were actually nice and pleasant, I left feeling totally dead inside.

The problem though is the money. It is now the only thing keeping me there. While I do live at home (which really sucks at my age), I have a few expen...
