As I explained before in this kind of post, a drawing has to tell a story, or more specifically in this case, has to tell us about the character.
After the face, hands are the most meaningful element to express, feelings, behavior, vibe, etc.

The improved taste of the mixture had a nice side effect: James was now chugging each serving quickly, losing track of how many bottles he drank.
