Earfun UBOOM L - firmware 050

Some days ago, one of you had discovered the new released 050 firmware by Earfun which is supposed to offer more bass than my tuning. I haven't even known about this, but wanted to give it a try and also let you hear how this new version sounds, which has nothing in common with my tuning. But many seem to like it, thus why should I care?

I am just disappointed because as you know I had asked Earfun if I should create a version with more bass, but with proper tuning and volume curve, etc...

I got an unannounced package with 2 DOSS Extreme Boom speakers inside. They didn’t ask me if I wanted to review it but obviously still had my address somewhere.

Not sure what to do with these speakers now, best would be to throw them into the trash can. I don’t even want to bother with doing any measurements.

Audio Pro A48 - EQ

I tried creating a quick EQ to smoothen out the frequency response of the A48. The changes are rather subtle and I am not even sure the difference becomes really that obvious through my recording or if it is represented correctly at all. But even after some adjustment I have the impression as if treble wasn’t the highest quality probably due to the special characteristics of the BMR driver. It remains quite choppy sounding. I would like to hear the A48 against another comparable speaker but...

Audio Pro A28 & A48 - listening test

I thought it could be interesting to compare the small A28 to the A48 as well, as both have a more constant frequency response than the A36, unfortunately I didn't notice that my son mounted the covers upside down for the A28 which was also placed upside down, therefore the change in sound with or without cover is quite strong. I cannot hear the differences through my closed microphones that well.

Audio Pro A28, A36 & A48 frequency response measurements

I performed some measurements of all 3 Audio Pro speakers, as usual outdoors from a distance of 50cm. I also did some control measurements from 1m, but they looked more or less the same with the exception of some increased ground influence creeping in. I measured without and with cover (purple) to demonstrate the influece on treble.

Audio Pro A48 - first impressions

A first video with the A48. I am not quite sure about the qualities of the BMR driver instead of a traditional tweeter. In some aspects it seems to give a benefit but in others it seems to perform worse. I lack the treble sweetness of the A36 somehow. Let me know what you think.

Audio Pro A28 - first impressions

I was surprised about the bassheavy sound of the small A28, although adjusted it sounds pretty nice and in some aspects seems even more correct than my A36.

After having had quite a hard time lately because of some nasty family grudge, I finally managed to finish the mild renovation attempt of our home and should be more active on Patreon again. I had suffered from some depression recently which made me ignore anything audio related. HK Onyx Studio 7 better than 6?

Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 EQ

A friend sent me his ATH-M50xBT2 for a test. I attached a measurement compensated for my target which shows some stronger channel-imbalance and a similar response to what RTings had measured.
