For ever one of you beautiful patrons who I do not deserve, a point by point before and after featuring Trang and Joana, and the edits that go into the finished image.

I had a flash of inspiration today and spent a surprising amount of time on something quite different from my normal efforts.
Do have a look, and let me know what you think. ^_^

I try to work with the client's ideas but when they ask for something like <that other shoot I thought was a complete failure> I'm sort of at a loss. I can't tell if it's working or not because I thought it was a total screwup the first time. Everything on the back of the camera looks terrible, so I guess we're succeeding?
This image is from one of those shoots. This is one I like, but it took a ton of work to get to this stage. The whole shoot was hit-or-...

Here's something a little different. I've been using the fisheye lens a lot lately so I scraped together a bunch of my favourite shots and talked a bit about how much fun, and how much a pain in the ass this lens is.
Please enjoy. =)

I've just added a gallery of photos featuring Laurynn, who was in the studio not long ago. I picked a half dozen of my faves, plus her own selections, and she's pretty great. Enjoy. =)

As recently requested, an image of your humble photographer, seen here under attack by two vicious pandas during a recent shoot.
Hope you're all having a wonderful day. <3

The gallery's coming along. I hope to post it today or tomorrow. 7 images done so far, hopefully at least 15 when it's ready. ^__^

I'm doing another Silhouette Project, and while looking through the old files I found a shot of Laurynn from 2017 I liked but never edited.
So, I edited it. ^__^

HEY! Things are picking up and I've got more stuff for you this month, but I had an idea:
Tell me what you want to see, and I'll do one shoot this month that's exactly what you ask for. I don't know how it'll be selected, or if anyone will actually reply to this (cough cough) but let's see if it flies.
Tell me what you want. Indoor, outdoor, nude, clothed, pole, aerials, rocks, whatever. If it can be done, it will be done. You guys are important to ...

Yesterday while looking for a photo (of a duck in a hat, of all things) I found a bunch of photos of a girl I worked with a lot several years ago. She was an acrobat and contortionist, very fit, very flexible, and we'd shot a lot of nudes. I haven't worked with her for maybe 4 years, haven't talked to her in at least that long.
Today, out of the blue, she contacts me and asks me to delete all her photos from my website and social media (She'd done me the courtesy of finding ...

Photography is half art, half science, and about 46% luck.
It's hard to let go of the numbers and just create images that are fun with whatever gear gets it done, sometimes.
This post talks about this very subject!

Things are still slow here, it's unbelievable. I had only two shoots in April, so I've just got nothing to show you. This month isn't a heap better so far, today's big shoot at an aerials studio was canceled a few days ago because no one was booking photos. Everyone I talk to, everywhere, is uninterested in the expense right now. It seems to be the case in every industry too, it's just slow.
So I'll try and make it up to you this weekend:
I've got s...

I was out biking today, and this guy was doing this large drop.
I grabbed my rarely used backup backup camera, and it was configured all wrong. Fuck knows what I was doing with it last! And I think buttons got bumped while it was rattling around on the floor of the car.
Anyway, I shot this guy doing cool things at ISO 25,000 ( horrified-face.gif ) on an old Olympus E-M1, and...
It's a confetti festival, if I'm being honest. This is t...

Here's something I don't normally share. This is a work in progress, a trial run of sorts, trying new ideas to see if they'd pan out or not.
In this case, I'd downloaded a trial software package and it was about 80% cool new tools and 64% frustrating, weird behaviour, as if it was written by gnomes who'd never used another art package before.
Anyway, it gives me wild new controls for brush handling etc. I hope to turn this into more colourful, fanciful images, but I'm ...

OK, you all voted fairly strongly in favour of an editiing video so I'm going to make one. Tomorrow I'll start working out the details - mostly I'll be cleaning off my desk so I look like 10% less of a filthy madman hunched over a keyboard...
Please look forward to it, sometime this week. =)

Since this month, and the last two, have been miserable death as far as photos are concerned, I thought maybe there was something else you might like to see. Maybe a video (live stream?) of the editing process? Or just more photos?

This year continues to be rubbish photographically. I can't get paid shoots and I can't get people to do free ones. The start of the year is always bad but this is unreal. Both my shoots for this weekend canceled.
But, when I shoot, I think I'm doing good stuff. Here's a small gallery featuring Donna from a couple of days ago. ^_^

This was a spectacularly rewarding shoot. Melanie's awesome, my rope was pretty decent, the lighting worked... It all came together and this might be my best rope shoot yet.
This is a $5 Patreon post with a bonus photo for $10 supporters.
Thank you all for supporting my madness over here.

I've been wanting to shoot more ballet but have not had much luck finding dancers. Until someone connected me with Tamara.
A chance to try out some new lights and editing techniques, with a ballet instructor?
I think it was a total success. =)

It's been a slow month (again) and there's not much to show you, so I went back to Aurelie's Pantheon Project shoot, which started off as a standard pole shoot.
Well, as standard as it gets with Aurelie - there's not much standard about her.
Enjoy. ^__^

I've got two posts ready to go live as soon as I resolve a problem with the site. Talking to the plugin developer but it's slow going.
One's some never seen photos from a session with Aurelie, and another is a new face, a ballet instructor who came in for some really neat new stuff. New lights, new editing.
I'm keen to show you. ^__^

Well January has totally sucked. Only three paying shoots all month, one for city council and two people in the studio. A few Pantheon shoots, which you will get to see next week (Augh, next week!) and there was that Hannah shoot, which I hope you enjoyed.
I hate these slow months, it's a massive blow to the psyche and I start looking for barista jobs. And I can't make a good coffee, so it's really just bad all around.
Speaking of Hannah, the voting results are...

Well, it's 2019!
Thanks for all your support last year, it means a lot to me. But... I feel bad (because I'm an artist and everything I do is either total shit, or awesome, or both, or it alternates) because I don't know if you're getting what you came here for. And that eats at me a little bit.
So... Why are you here? Are you happy? Can I make awesomer things for you?

OK, so November was pretty slow as far as releases go. I was out of the country for half of the month, visiting family overseas, plus another small trip where my wife broke her ankle so a surprising amount of my time is taken up helping her function...
But I managed to shoot six new bodies for the Pantheon Project! A real variety of strong women, including a professional aerialist, two over-40 women (bringing the total to 3 so far), a PT and bodybuilding coach, and a girl who was a...
