April Update!

It's been three whole months of the year and I've had...  five photoshoots so far.  It's been miserable and I'm itching to get going again.

I hope you've all been checking the blog, that's where all your hard-earned and very much appreciated money is going.  I just posted another almost entirely Patreon-only gallery this morning, as a matter of fact!

The New Content

So far only about half of you amazing people have checked out the Patron-only content on the new website.  I'm not sure what that means, TBH.

A few changes!

I've changed a few things in the rewards.  Overall I think the change is positive, but...

The magazine is going to come out a lot less often.  I don't think there's any point when I will be delivering more photos more often via the blog.  

There's no more snapchat rewards.  I'm not going to boot anyone who's already on there, but given how difficult it is to work snapchat into my shooting schedule, and how difficult it is to manage access, I've binned it.

The New NFGphoto Blog

Woo!  Patreon's got a thing now, and I'm using it!

There's a new blog fired up on NFGphoto.com, and I'll be updating that more frequently, to deliver amazing images more often than the monthly magazine format allows.  In addition, I'll be able to add more meaty words to these posts, since I won't be so concerned about covering up the art with the story.

A brief slowdown...

A few days ago I visited the Emergency department at the local hospital.  I was in agony, and they quickly diagnosed kidney stones.  As anyone who's ever had them before will attest, it's one of the most painful things to ever happen to a human. My prognosis is good but I expect I'll be shooting a little less in January & February than I'd prefer.

The Best of 2017 Gallery

I started putting together a Best of 2017 gallery, and if you want to have a sneak peak, please do.  ^_^

Finally figured it out.

I've been trying to figure out a certain kind of process for a long time, and yesterday I finally cracked it.

I'd seen things like this before, where dark areas maintained a rich, saturated colour, but lighter areas became pale and didn't have a lot of colour.  

The image on the left is the original.  After applying the technique, I get the middle result which is...  not quite right.  After a quick tweak, I get the one on the right, which has this beautifully pale loo...

Update!

Hallo you new folks!  Very happy to have you on board.  Never hesitate to let me know if you're not getting your money's worth. ^_^

The December mag is nearly done!  Got a few more girls to add, and it's gonna be a massive issue.  More than 40 pages!  Not much text, but a heap of tinsel.  =)

December Magazine

It's almost here!  I finished most of it today, I've got one more shoot on Wednesday that I suspect will be worth waiting for.  

This may be the best one ever, unless you've got a phobia of athletes and xmas lights...  ;)

Amanda: Before & After

Amanda was in the studio a few days ago, hoping to create some images she could use in her bodybuilding pursuits.  The images on top are the raw proofs, with the final edits underneath.

I used four lights for the shoot, three large grids and a white shoot-through umbrella.  The image on the right is what happens when I turn the umbrella off and use only the grids.  

And then there's the usual hour of editing the final images...  ^_^

Update: 50 new photos!

For my beautiful patrons first, the Photostream - just updated with ~50 new photos from November.  A lot of these will be in the next Magazine.  ^_^
