The problem with making comics about newly revealed starter Pokémon is that you'll anger fans of the starter you're making fun of. So I just make fun of all three of them! There's no way that can go wrong.

I couldn't decide between a goodbye-comic for Reggie or a welcome-comic for Bowser, so I did both! Also, this comic is 95% about the background and I'm not even going to pretend it's not.

Wow, I did not expect to draw so many characters that are completely foreign to me this week. After all those Pokémon, Smash fighters and Masahiro Sakurai, it took some getting used to these burly first person shooter characters. But I do think we've covered both Apex Legends and Tetris 99 pretty nicely in a single comic, as well as touching base with the (very few) Fortnite fans that found us via one of the three Fortnite comics we've done.

Man, it was really weird to draw all these humanoid characters after months of Pokémon and other Nintendo characters. Luckily, interns Jamie and Nina did the colors and shading for this comic (you can suddenly see the colors and shading appear halfway through the GIF) so we were able to finish this one in a single day :)

Hey Patrons! Slightly annoying news: apparently, the way we handle giveaways (portraits and holiday giveaways) isn't allowed by Patron's Terms of Use. They've recently taken a harder line against giveaways, raffles and contest because there was - apparently - a lot of fraud going on. Their rules state:
- Giveaways should be open to the general public;
- There should be no advantages to your Patrons;
- If the giveaway is stated in the Reward Tier, everyone subscribed should receive...
This comic was perfect to put jokes in the background. If I had more time, I could've made three times as many panels with just as many characters/jokes. But alas, you have to live with the usual six!

The PSD of this comic is a MESS. Intern Lara helped me with the anatomy of all the masculine nude bodies and I wanted to post the first panel as a sneak preview on Monday, so there was a lot of saving, sharing, and moving layers around.
