What is possible when you release tension? — Journal Prompt and Excerpt of My Writing

I’ve found myself with beautiful ceremonial matcha and I’m reflecting on what tension I feel in my body. Specifically, where is there tension and what is causing it, making it tighter and loser? Thoughts cause feelings. When you feel tense, what are you thinking about? Today, sit inside your body and take note (literally) of where the tension is building up and describe it in great detail. Get to know this part of you who feels tension. What does this part of you need in order to let go? ...

Pool Deck Bikini Yoga Play

Finished my workout, jumped in the pool and rolled out to play with yoga movement in the morning sunshine. Love from Thailand!! Remember to love yourself by moving in ways that feel good. Movement is medicine. Freedom is the goal. Appreciate however much movement you can, however much freedom you have. Savor every little ounce that is here. As I stretched this morning, the camera was recording video and I was absolutely delighting in the feeling of warm air and sun beaming from heaven! The tu...

#6: Escape to Melasti Beach, Bali (September 26, 2022)

Run away from the jungle -- all those plants are overwhelming! After a quick doctor visit in the city of Denpasar I paid a taxi driver to take me an hour further south. Now two hours away from Ubud, I'm at Melasti Beach, rejoicing in my love of sun, ocean and sand. Fill me up with joy and mermaid vibes!! I bought a coconut and played with watercolor paints on the beach. Enjoy!

Question for you: What are you running away from? Where do you run to? Where is your happy place when th...

New Thailand Journal! and Prompt

I’ve written in moleskins religiously for years. Thailand brought me a silk journal. My favorite colors. I write at least three pages each morning. Stream of consciousness. Sipping coffee, sitting in butterfly. Asking myself always… What feels good? The colors of this new journal feel good. Leather and wood and sunshine pouring in from tropical weather feel good. Barefeet feel good. Friendship with the barista who really cares about coffee feels good.

#5 Rice Terraces at Tegallalang, Bali (Sept 25, 2022)

Walk with me through the rice terraces, hot sunshine and watercolor paints keeping me company. I started and ended my day with the swings. Swinging over the jungle is a big deal around here. Still adjusting to life out in the world on my own, nervous belly butterflies weren't ready to swing at the start of the day and I calmed myself down by bonding with nature. I sat with an old woman selling coconuts, painting her world, her view, in her hut. By the end of the day, I was ready to set sail. ...

#4: Monkeys in the Jungle Town of Ubud, Bali (Sept 22-26, 2022)

Time to leave the beach, drive through the rice paddies and arrive in Ubud, Bali. We're in the jungle now! In this video, come with me as I move into the new cottage and have my first encounters with wild monkeys! I'm falling in love with mosquito nets over the beds and the style of Asian architecture. See the world the way I do, through the eyes of an artist. This is my first week in Ubud, exploring for the first time this jungle town of magical healers and artists.

New Journal and Prompt for You

I normally write in moleskin journals. I ran out of pages so I bought a locally made Thai journal. It’s beautiful and feels strange to write in. Lol what type of journal or paper inspires you and feels most comfortable for you?? Awareness of how even simple paper choice affects your mood, mindset, relationship with writing and expression, enjoyment of the process etc…. Is valuable information. Observe yourself. Study your energy. Become a student of your own body. With this data, you are ...

#3 Uluwatu, Bali | Sept 19-21, 2022

My first love in Bali was the beach at Uluwaut. I sat in the cave and painted the cliffs, sand everywhere, even inside the paint, adding texture! I befriended a Brazilian painter/surfer on this beach and a group of children. Everyone came to paint with me. Up on the cliffs, I ate smoothie bowls and made friends with the ladies who give massages to the surfers. I wrote in my journal, painted and did yoga on the deck. This was also my first time tasting Nasi Goreng (fried rice, traditional Indo...

Painting Turquoise Pool at Villa Pool in Canggu, Bali

My heart exploded with joy as the turquoise water smiled at me. This was my second day waking up in the Bali paradise. A pink plumeria flower floated my way and I jumped in the pool, grabbed my paints, and spent the first hours of the day beneath a blue sky, soaking in the magic. This is what I'd been envisioning for so long; to begin my day outside, warm and playing. I hope this extra video footage brings you joy, a memory of where this journey started a couple months ago, and deepens your u...

An environment that soothes and inspires. Count how many sounds you can hear. Play gentle music. Hang a wind chime. Turn on a water feature. What does it smell like? Light a candle. Sit near fragrant flowers. Can you feel a gentl...

Yoga Play at Ubud Treehouse Pool

Leave me alone and this is what I do. 💕 After weeks of silent stillness and healing in the jungle, I am so happy to be moving in water again! Earth and water, air and water, fire and water. I check through them in my mind, acknowledging each one and their relationships. I feel all the elements around me and within me. Aware of their ever present connection, I am and peace plays.

When was the last time you leaned back and drank in the sky?

Journal Prompts: Your relationship with “YES”

Close your eyes and inhale slowly.

Exhale slowly and say “yes” to whatever you are about to write, discover and learn.

I have been reflecting on these questions all week long, answering one per day before bed. They are very deep questions that deserve and may require time for the answers to emerge or let you see them.

Write with Me - Ubud Treehouse Journaling Session (15min)

Grab your pen and let’s go! The noise in the background of the video is jungle bugs!! They are so loud!! In this session, I’m not teaching/coaching. We’re just going to write together. If the jungle bugs sounds are too intense, just mute the video. Write a flow of your thoughts. Don’t overthink it. Don’t even read back, edit or judge it. Just write because the act of writing is therapeutic. Imagine your ideas, worries, emotions, observations are flowing out of the body and onto the ...

Journaling: Dreams, Why Write Them Down?

I started writing down my dreams a few months ago. Totally worth it. I heard this was a good idea and resisted it for years. Too much to dive into right after waking up, right? Phew. Finally, I get it. Here's how it's benefiting me and maybe you want to give it a go.

In comments or private messages, you can share what this brings up for you, ask questions, post your own writing or recent dream and interpretation.

A viewer asked me this. I reflected all day and responded in this video. Now your turn. In your journal, answer these questions. Let yourself write anything and everything that comes into your mind. You don't have to have a 'right' answer. Just find out what thoughts and feelings you hold inside. What do these questions bring to the surface fo...

Go Back and Read Old Journals

You could burn your own journals if they make you cringe OR you can grab a highlighter and deep dive into the story of your own evolution. Study your patterns, harvest your quotes and see clearly with hindsight and written proofs your before and after growth moments. I’m usually reading two to three months in the past. It takes me about a month to read through an old journal, reading a few pages a day. As I read, I highlight, underline and type up the good stuff. I transfer it to a word doc...
