I tried to drum up a good short story for this one, but I felt like a lot of the ideas that came to mind were kinda repetitive of things I'd explored before. I decided I needed to work more on expanding the world and giving it personality beyond the bare basics I've laid out so far, so this became more of a walk-through on trying to work that out and make sure I'm working in the right direction.

Far too often, I let these journals get delayed too long because I'm not happy with where I am right now. I'm getting more comfortable with what I want this game's world to involve, and after last time's exploration of how I want the game to feel, I'm feeling ready to start taking stabs at building out what's actually happening here. I've been thinking more about what the story of Project Wild One needs to be, to support its strengths and its goals. I'm happy to say that Project Wild One v0.03 is finally nearing completion! I just sent out the test copies to my proofers to try and shake out as many bugs as we can before I'm putting it in you guys' hands! Usually we budget about a week for that, but this has been a crazy complicated one so I'm not putting a hard date on it. But I am now confident that the new version will be dropping in early June!

As much as I may seem inclined to rambling, I have to admit, writing dev journals has always been hard for me. I was pretty happy with how it worked out last time, so I think I'll keep putting both the basic and super cheats in this post to simplify the release schedule.
That said, with this update, PWO's super cheats got a little boost! You can now either click one button to start a new encounter altogether or press another to force a new guy to be added to the current one. This should give you plenty of control to create the kind of situation you want... just be careful not to overwhelm your ...

Glancing over the last Side-Write I realized there was still a lot to explore here with the questions of how the world of Project Wild One should be built. As I've mentioned, the story is still very much up in the air, and I intend to let the demands of the gameplay shape a lot of it-- in other words, the world will be shaped by what the game needs in order to be fun to play, and the story will grow naturally out of that world as I better come to understand it.
