The new animation project "Fine Dining" has a short sequence where Drake has to walk past the camera. Since I haven't really made him walk before I decided to do a short study in the form of a simple walk cycle.
Aside from having to add more "weight" to the foot falls so he doesn't look like he's sneaking i'm pretty happy with it, I should be able to copy most of this animation over (thanks to some nifty plugins) so that'll save a bit of time.

Edit: Discovered that there was a border made up of black pixels in the initial upload, these have been removed. A rotated version has now also been added.
I experimented with a new approach to lighting underwater scenes for this render request and I quite like how it turned out!
I'll make an effort to replicate this look for animated works in the future. Whether or not I am successful will depend on my ability to make the particles and "caustics" move (and loop) in...

I had my doubts about what was going to come out on top but you overwhelmingly voted for the fourth option, in which Drake feeds his orca friend.. yet another friend. I'm currently in the process of syncing files and dividing up the render tasks between myself and a friend who will be assisting with the effort to get "A Tight Spot" rendered. I completed the preview render of the entire animation earlier this week and sent it, along with a description of the audio requirements to the artist that will be taking care of that aspect of the project. There will be some back and forth as we hammer out the fine details, but overall that part is largely out of my hands.
