Hey guys, it's been a while! I try not to post unless I have stuff to talk about but it's strange how not posting for a couple of weeks feel like forever in internet time.

Anyway, I have some important updates! First, I've decided on a soft deadline for my Rhea fan VN which is on June 10, 2022. This means I'll release whatever I finish up until that point. Whether it's a 5 minute long intro or 30 minutes long, you'll have something on your hands to play around with.

I'm doing this mainly because I really want to put it out there. There's the perfectionist part of me that wants to make it as perfect as possible, but I think that really just an excuse to procrastinate and delay lol :P

Next important update! I haven't talked about this before but I had issues with lineart consistency but I finally figured out a way to fix it! I struggled with lineart for the longest time and it's even more noticeable once I started working on the VN Sprites so I had to fix it one way or another. To cut the story short, I figured out a set of brushes and techniques that mostly fixed my inconsistent lineart and here's the result!

Don't know if its noticeable without more context or examples but it's absolutely noticeable to me lmao (basically the lines should be even across the board not just on sprites but also on CGs, I know I don't have a CG example but you get what I'm saying) I absolutely had to fix this or its gonna drive me insane. I'm sticking with this process until the end because I think this is passable and this process took way too much time. It's time to move on!

The three sprites above are the most important sprites for the story and since they're almost done, I can finally move on to the CGs (or event illustrations for those unfamiliar with VN terminology). Yep, its time to draw Steamy-Sexy-Mommy-Pope-Dragon-Sex UOOOOOOHHHHH 😭😭😭😭😭 After what seems like forever, it's finally time draw the meat of the story ^^

There's so much more small stuff to do (sprite expressions, UI stuff, extra BGs) but CGs are the most important visual assets so its great to finally start on those!

Art is only one half of a Visual Novel, writing being the other half. I'm happy to report that the entire story can be read from start to finish in outline form. Emphasis on outline form - there's very little actual prose in the story but its nothing that can't be fixed with time and effort :P Someone even volunteered to edit my writing so you guys wouldn't suffer too much reading my fanfic lmao.

All in all Rhea's VN (I haven't decided on a name yet, sorry!!) but things are progressing well ^^ I think that's all I wanted to talk about this time. Oh and I needed a quick break from drawing Rhea stuff so I drew Sonya from Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia. I actually haven't played her game but damn she's hot. Hope you like it! ^^

It's been a while, but I finally managed to progress on my Rhea fan VN.

Technically I've been progressing a little every couple days but today marks an important milestone: I finished* the most important background for the VN! Hooray!

For the unfamiliar, this is Rhea's bedroom and this is where a bunch of ero scenes in the VN will take place. In order for me to draw those CGs though, I needed to recreate the room in 3D so I can freely choose whichever angle best suits my composition.

To be completely honest though, it was more of an excuse to try a 3D + 2D approach. Truth is I can just wing the background for an ero scene (who really cares about BGs in an ero scene). But by recreating Rhea's room, I feel a lot more intimate with her character and it gave me a bunch of ideas for different poses that I wouldn't have otherwise thought of. I won't go into details because that's what the VN is for, but sufficed to say, it do be good 🤤🤤

I won't bore you with too much technical details, but I'm painting over my 3D renders to give them more life. Turns out making interiors in 3D look good (or anything in 3D really) is way more involved and I'm not necessarily trying to make photorealistic stuff.

Just for fun, here's what the room looks like in game:

And here's my version. It's not a 1:1 replica because I'm not that obsessed (and skilled) yet :P

As a side note, playing with the lighting gives me infinite joy. As a 2d artist, lighting is such a hard skill to master, and to see it work realistically in realtime gives me such a hard on lmao

There are other backgrounds/locations in the VN but Rhea's bedroom is the single most important one so it feels super rewarding now that it's almost done. It's not truly finished yet but I'm really happy with it at this point.

Now here's a mockup with a WIP Sprite and UI:

On one hand, I want to keep things under wraps, but on the other, I desperately want to share stuff. So let's just say that there's a couple of scenes with this dancer outfit and I think it will be glorious ^^

It's taking me forever to progress with this VN, but it's slowly coming together bros and I'm super excited to share stuff. All in good time, I suppose!

Now let's talk about Rhea's butt :3 Or what I've been up to besides fantasizing about Rhea's butt. Basically, illustration has become a bit dull for me, so I experimented with different art styles and processes.

I've been really into pixel art lately. It's such a departure from my usual tool and techniques that I have to force myself to adjust. It's challenging, but it's absolutely refreshing. Here's something I'm pretty proud of. It's still a WIP, but I think I captured comfy with the color palette ^^

The other thing I'm trying to do is develop a 3D process to quickly make simple but appealing backgrounds (which I can then paint over or just touch up a little). Drawing in perspective by hand is pretty challenging for me, so this really helps :P

This one is promising. The setup is a bit drab, but I really like the lighting! ^^ Not aiming to do super realistic stuff, just something quick and dirty to play around with.

So those kept me busy for the past month or so. Not my usual stuff so I hesitate to post them but they are a joy to work with nonetheless. That said, they're not just random practice for nothing. I do have a plan for them, and as you can probably tell, I'm gonna start producing original content.

I'm not 100% sure what form it will take just yet. The easier route is to make a VN (and use the 3D + 2D technique). On the other hand, making an actual game is far more challenging, but the kid in me wants to try anyway lol. I'm still at this crossroads of indecision. I'll leave it here for now. In the meantime, I'll keep working on Rhea's fan VN :D

I'm a little late but Happy New Year folks! Sorry for the lack of activity lately, just a bunch of things going on >_<

I wanna catch up real quick. I'm nearly done finishing up December rewards so please bear with me for just a little bit for that. I had to pause drawing the rewards so I could draw something for Rhea's birthday. I missed it last year and man I just couldn't live that one down.

Note that the other Rhea image (the lewd version of the christmas outfit) is included in the December rewards, not this one.

I think that's it for now, I just wanted to make a quick post for Rhea's birthday. I quite like how it turned out ^^

Wiz & Aqua!

I originally only wanted to draw Wiz but I was feeling a bit silly so I threw in Aqua to liven it up a bit. This was supposed to be a Christmas themed drawing but I missed the deadline so they're just wearing red outfits :P

Please note that this will have no nude edit, like all my Wiz illustrations. I'll draw Mythra next. Her and Rhea will get the lewd treatment ^^

Hope you guys are enjoying the holidays! Nephews came over so I've been spending time with them. It's pretty exhausting though and I find it really hard to draw lewd stuff when there are kids running around lmao.

Christmas Rhea!

Happy holidays! Here's Rhea joining in the holiday season.

I wanted to feature her serene beauty in this illustration so it's not very lewd. I don't think I'll make a nude variation of this particular image, but I will draw this in a different pose and angle which will show off a better view of her figure ^^

Also, I think this is the first time I drew her with a visible ear. I try to refrain from drawing spoiler stuff but the game's been out for more than 2 years so people interested in her would have already played the game. If you haven't played the game yet, then it's the perfect time to pick it up and play it over the holidays :D

Next up is Christmas Wiz! I hope I can finish hers before the 24th, but we'll see~

Here's Momuela or is it Ma'amuela? Anyway I was trying out the new liquify update for CSP and felt like drawing her since she was finally added to FEH. Her outfit is pretty nice, though I ended up removing parts of it since I felt a little lazy lmao

Note that the poll winner was Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 so I'll draw her too. Manuela was 2nd so a lot of you guys wanted me to draw her, it's a win-win in the end.

Rewards, VN Update, some changes, etc!

Hey guys, long time no talk! I've got a bunch of stuff to talk about so let's get right to it!

1. I just sent October rewards! If you paid for that term (ie you were charged at around November) and you did not receive a message, please let me know!

2. There are no November rewards. I paused the November term meaning you should not have been charged in December. Which also means that there are no rewards for November (note: I won't pause for December, I will post the character suggestion post later). I did this to reset my schedule since I got backed up again and also because I'm trying to develop a new routine, which is reason number 3. 

3. Visual Novel Development! If you didn't know, I started working on a fan visual novel centered around Rhea from FE3H. Now I wanna preface this that it will not take away from the current monthly rewards. It's a side project (that I work on almost daily ^^) With that out of the way:

3.a. Progress will be slow! This is to set expectations for me and you guys. I've been doing this for a couple of weeks now and I can say that while I am committed to this, I don't want to rush it or set any deadlines. I hate missing my own deadlines. That said, I will be posting progress whenever I feel I've got substantial stuff to show. Again, I don't want to put any time restrictions or any dates, just know that I'll post progress~

3.b. #gamedev tag. For organization, VN stuff will be filed under the gamedev tag. There are only two posts right now, including this one.

3.c. Rhea's fan VN will be free and short! Which is to be expected but just wanted to put it out there. I'm guessing it will be around 30 minutes to 1 hour max.

3.d. Rhea's fan VN will be R18+ BUT the sex stuff will only be towards the end because I love build up and sexy teasing. It will also read like an amateur fanfic so be warned LMAO ^^

3.e. Cease and Desist. Fun. It's a Nintendo property so there's always the risk of getting shut down. They seem to be fine with people making fanart and fanfic and even doujins, but I'm not entirely sure how they feel about fan VNs. Even if my project is free, it's not a guarantee that I'm off the hook. Anyway I'm working under the assumption that I'll get C&D'd someday and I'm not going to throw a fit I do get C&D'd, it is their property after all. In any case, my development mantra is to just fucking do it until I can't.

3.f Progress. 

Here are some actual progress I've made over the past couple weeks! I can't show the script stuff but according to Ren'py I wrote 1672 words. I swear it felt like I wrote so much more, well it's a work in progress :P

Here's a mockup of sprites + background. Originally I only wanted to draw from the Waist-up for sprites to save time but I kept messing up proportions. Turns out drawing the full body makes it easier for me to spot errors. So full-body sprites it is, though they will be cropped in-game (though I'm thinking of having an Extras gallery where you can see the full sprites). Here's what the full sprites look like~

Lastly, I'm trying to copy the Archbishop's Room in 3D. Let's just say that I need it for a few angles ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). The Rhea model is ripped from the game I found somewhere, I'm only using it here to establish scale. I gotta say though, I really enjoyed making this 3D copy, I just find it therapeutic for some reason :D

And that's all for today! I'm really happy with my progress so far. I've been working on this nearly everyday but I do try to limit myself to 1-2 hours because like I said above I don't want to rush it. So far, this way of working has been working great and honestly writing this makes me want to keep working. But I'll save it for later since I need to sleep.

Rhea & Seiros, Rewards, Projects, General Update!

Hey guys, it's been a while! I've got a few things to talk about so let's get right to it~

1. I sent September rewards a few days ago. If you paid for that period (ie. you were charged around October) and haven't received a message, please let me know.

2. I'm way behind in rewards so I'm cancelling November term/rewards so I can catch up. Right now I'm working on October rewards (btw, female Byleth won the October poll so expect her in the October rewards!) . I'm hoping to finish the rewards this month so I can start December with a clean slate.

3. I gave up on the Rhea doujin. I'm really sorry. I know some of you guys are really looking forward to it but I just couldn't bring myself to work on it any longer. Comics/manga/sequential art in general is my weakness and it doesn't matter how much I love Rhea, paneling is a complete and utter nightmare for me. I just find cutting my story into panels and making dialogue shorter to fit panels a waste of time. Honestly I'd rather make a Visual Novel because that's how I write my stories. I think CGs instead of panels, if that makes sense. I also like having narration and that's usually not ideal in manga.

4. So Visual Novel doujinshi? Well maybe. See here's the thing, I became demotivated because I can't into manga/comics but that actually lead me to explore other stuff. In fact, I was inspired to try making Visual Novels again and so I tried painting some backgrounds (since they're not the most demanding things to draw for me) and here are the results

I also explored pixel art again and made this:

When I think about it, forcing myself to make a comic made me run away to find something more comfortable. I needed a different outlet for creativity that wasn't drawing sexy anime girls. Let's face it, these aren't the sexiest stuff and 99.99% of people who follow me for my art wouldn't expect this from me (some might even feel alienated). But man, I really really enjoyed working on these ^^ It's just fun to create stuff without necessarily thinking too hard about it.

5. I want to make a Visual Novel. I know what you're thinking. I just failed the doujin and now I'm hopping on to another project, hello burnout? And perhaps the reason I found the stuff above fun is because I was procrastinating on the doujin. That may very well be true. And I'm sure some of you guys remember that I started VN projects before and I ended up abandoning them eventually. Truth is I don't think this time will be different - I might very well abandon this new project too. But I just want to stop over thinking and just do it, maybe it will end up failing maybe not who really knows. And I think the key here is to not give myself a deadline and just treat it as a side project until I have something substantial to show. I mean drawing rewards already has me really busy so it's just not realistic to treat it as anything other than a side project lol.

Anyway that was what I've been up to lately and part of the reason why the September rewards got delayed. I guess you could call it a bit of soul-searching? One thing is for certain though, I'd still take drawing my favorite characters over painting random landscapes any day :P

So let's talk a little bit about the Rhea and Seiros drawing. Well it was actually inspired by this pic:

(for context it's from Fire Emblem: Heroes, that's me in the middle :P)

When I saw this I thought to myself "Wouldn't it be amazing if you could date both Rhea and Seiros at the same time?" and voila. I dropped everything to realize this divine vision and the OP illustration is the result lol ^^

(A side note, I made a bunch of new brushes for background painting so I had to find a way to use those in the illustration. You can see those brushes in action everywhere apart from the characters. Pretty happy with how they turned out! ^^)

Wiz!!

Long time no Wiz! She's annoyed because I haven't drawn her in a while :P I originally wanted to draw her in a more colorful halloween outfit but I'm pretty bad at designing flashy stuff, so I settled with a simple and sexy one.

Drew the new Rhea outfit from Fire Emblem Heroes! The pose combined with the outfit was quite challenging to draw but I love how it turned out ^^

This will have a less-clothed version.

Next up, I'm gonna draw Cynthia from Pokemon and Wiz. It's been a while since I last drew Wiz so I'm looking forward to drawing her again!

Imagine if Rhea randomly flashed you when you run into her in the monastery. I'll probably be reduced to a frothing beast and ravage her right there 😩

July Rewards Sent!

It took forever but rewards are finally sent! If you paid for July rewards and haven't received a message, please let me know!

Whew, I'm back! I certainly took my sweet time lol but for good reason. By that I mean my motivation issues have been fixed. Turns out its a combination of things but mainly:

• Lack of Sleep - I was sleeping between 3-6AM and waking up at 12PM everyday for the past few months and that made me cranky and drained.
• Unsatisfying Linework - This one is a bit technical, but I was trying to develop a clean and 'manga' like lineart but clean lines simply isn't my forte. I only noticed this once I got back to drawing because apparently I was too tunnel-visioned and couldn't place it before >.<
• "Efficiency" - I've been adding 1 minute timelapses for my art for $10 patrons. It was something I did as a nice bonus but I realized that it was actually putting unnecessary pressure on me because I wanted to look perfect in my timelapse. That meant that I was forcing myself to draw perfectly, like I obsessed over nailing down a curve in 1 stroke, I avoided undoing too much so it would seem that I'm blazing through my art, or I avoid redoing stuff etc etc. In short, I was trying to make myself seem perfect and in the long run it snuck up on me and gave me so much frustration. I made an imaginary "supervisor" who watches behind my back when I draw lol

Anyway those are the main things and I'm happy to say that I pretty much squared them away. I fixed my sleeping schedule, like I actually wake up at 8AM everyday. Once I start waking up early, everything just seemed to sort themselves and I feel like I have a lot more energy and time during the day! For linework, I pretty much gave up on having clean lineart and embraced my rough linework :P I think my strength lies in my coloring anyway. For efficiency, I just dropped timelapses altogether and just focus on the process of drawing itself. Timelapses are nice to do from time to time but I no longer want to make it a habit.

Oh yeah I also played a bunch of games and caught up with other stuff without feeling guilty about doing them. Overall, I think the break absolutely did wonders for my mental and physical well-being! Now it's time to get back and draw draw draw!

August Pause

Hey everyone just wanted to let you know that I'm pausing my Patreon for August. This means you won't get charged on September 1 and this also means that there will be no August rewards. I'm still finishing up July rewards which hopefully finish by the end of the week. I know it's really really late ^^;

I just feel a bit demotivated lately because of a number of things. A week or two of just plain rest and relaxation always seem to work for me so I figured a break is in order. Take care of yourselves everyone. I'll talk to you guys again soon! Cheers! ^^

So I've been drawing my Rhea doujin nonstop for the past 2 weeks and I'm happy to report that I've made some nice progress ^^ It's not as smooth sailing as I would like it to be but hey progress! I have a script so I know how things will flow, but nailing down the pose or camera angle or expression of a single panel is so challenging for me 😂 Made me realize just how important sketching is.

Here's a sneak peek of a single panel that I'm happy with. It's obviously a WIP so it will most likely change, but I really like it anyway lol I'm giving no context because spoilers~

Anyway! This expression inspired me to draw something cheeky and naughty so I drew Iris Heart. I was debating whether to draw it with someone from FE like Cornelia or Loki from FEH but I missed drawing Iris Heart and it fits her perfectly so I drew her :3

I have a couple more for July rewards so bear with me just a little longer (if you're new to me in patreon, just know that I take a while to finish rewards >.<) That's all for now, cheers!

I love her design but damn, drawing her reminded me that I haven't drawn overly designed stuff in a really long while lol it's challenging but fun cause it forced me to use some of my old rarely used brush. Haven't gotten her in the game though and she lost the voting gauntlet, oh well I guess I'll get her on a rerun!

So many stuff to talk about but I'll keep it brief:

3. Rhea Doujinshi - I couldn't finish it in time for FE:Three Houses' 2nd anniversary (July 26, a few days ago). I'm actually so far behind schedule (though this was not unexpected) My goal is to finish it this year so I guess I got complacent because there’s still so much time.

The good news is I managed to finish writing the script and I also managed to draft the first 2 pages. It’s not nothing but yeah I’m so far behind schedule 🤣🤣 Btw, I’m shooting for at least 30 colored pages and I think it’s doable. Time will tell I guess :P

Those are the main things I wanted to talk about. A quick fun fact, I started my Patreon back in June 2018 so last month was my Patreon’s 3rd anniversary! It’s why I drew Green Heart after what seemed like forever. As you can see in the OP image, it’s a redraw of an old piece from 2018 and it’s fair to say that I’ve improved a bit since then, at the very least I'm happy with my improvement and I can honestly say that I like my style ^^
