so i did another quick sketch and thought to myself "oh i will just put a quick color on this".....7 hours later i am still working on it....but is should look good when i am done ...i hope

sorry i have only been partially active. several more family events happened from Christmas to new years that took me away from drawing quite a bit.
so i am trying to get my head back in gear again with a whole bunch of quick sketches. some of these i will post on all my sites to try and get more people interested in my work again but don't worry as the majority will be exclusive to you all ;)

i decided to redesign the character from Peak Wulf and eventually her human counter part to be more in line with the inspiration of Armello i originally wanted.
i can still distinguish more greens and reds then i normally could so my color blindness has not yet come back (knocks on wood) so coloring it should be an interesting adventure

ok got her basic colors down. now i should do more studies of her from different angles because i am not using any 3d on her figure so i won't have that to fall back on

i had to delete a few "joint correction morphs" JCMs and redo them because of some sculpting errors.
i have a healthy respect for 3d riggers on ANY platform because there is a lot of steps to go through.
i have finished all the single joint rotations, side to side, back and front, and twist both directions.
now i need to make and properly link every rotation combination and THEN i need to texture it

so i have set up a list of things to do each day in order to get back into a working mindset.
studies
folios
commission
comics
daz 3d
i spend about a half hour on each and keep rotating through them, marking how many times i work on each set....today i did not do so well but at least i now have a better idea of how much i have slipped in work ethic

i decided to not use the 3d for any color information on her. i found a few painting of polar bears and barbarian concept art to use as a reference guide. right now i will keep to the desaturated oranges and purples i have established. once i am done with refining the painted forms of her shadows and highlights i will work in to more saturated reds on her costume to make them look more like leather then they are right now

i put both of these up at the same time to show the comparison. i tweaked the size of her arms and the hammer to make them have more impact on the layout. now comes the color (crossed fingers)

so here is what i am trying out. do my render as normal, make the redraw as expressive and dynamic as possible, then try to make my color work REALLY vibrant and unified with the image. that for me will be the biggest challenge but IF i nail it, then i will be more confident in all my works and procrastinate less on my comic books

so i am not sure if this is even possible but my red/green color blindness has just....gone away it seems. in the few days i took off.. playing games and being with family, i suddenly noticed that green seemed a lot more "distinct" to me. so i took some color tests and each time i came up normal.
maybe i always told myself i was color blind so my mind was tricked into not seeing certain colors or maybe as i get older, the cones that were responsible for my colorblindne...

ok so i have convinced myself that i can do just as well without 3d assist as WITH using it.
and i can correct the color of my drawings that use 3d bases so they don't look so "muted"
and i also want to see if i can push myself like i use to when i was starting out. really knuckle down and power through projects....without burning out i mean

so as i was working i watch some of jacksepticeyes videos on the new spyro trilogy and felt the need to look up some of the concept art. one of the artists i really liked so i felt inspired to try out his methods a bit. when it comes to coloring is where i will REALLY pay close attention to his style
