Progress update #7 Final episode

So I just had a 2 days weekend for a change which helped greatly. I took this time to relax a bit, sleep more, and recharge batteries before this week.

I didn't work much on Saturday and was so tired that I went to bed at around 9pm, and woke up at 4am. And from there, it was game on.

Much content have been created between yesterday and this morning, and I'm quite happy with that.

I should reach a third LEWD scene this week, and frankly, I don't look forward to it, having just finished one not too long ago.
It's a lot of work to create one, but then again, once it's done my rendering station will have content for quite some time .

I still haven't posted the 4K Wallpaper of this month and I apologize for that.
I didn't even modify a few things on it, I was just not happy with this render. After Laura's renders of last month, I felt it was not enough. So, I went and created another one. This one will satisfy you even more in my opinion.

I also have good news that will arrive soon enough, but for now, I can't say too much.

In the meantime, I'll keep doing what I do, and I wish you a good week.

Progress update #6 Final episode

Hey everyone, I hope you're fine.

This past week was good for me, which means it was also good for the game.
I managed to attack the 6th day of this episode after having finished a second LEWD animation.

It feels like I'm making more than decent progress lately, and it's reassuring.

I think before the end of this month all the "scene_base" will be completed and it'll be time to grind each and every scene.

But the good thing is, I'll have done all the animations by then as well.
If I do focus on creating "scene_base" only like I said before, every time a LEWD scene will be included in this scene, I decided to create all the animations so I can keep my rendering station busy.

So yeah, that's about it pretty much.
Not much to say since not much changed.

Customs have been created and the 4K wallpaper of the month is almost finished.
I know I didn't put a vote this month, it's my bad. But I decided to give some attention to Alexa since Lucy and Valentine have monopolized the scene lately.

Anyway, gotta get back to it.

Enjoy your week,

MisterMaya

Progress update #5 Final episode

So, I hope everyone had a good week. Me, I need to say that it was better than the previous one.

I kept working with the new method I explained last time and managed to secure some solid work.
It's so much comfort to know that I'm doing one of the hardest part of my work and keeping easier stuff for later.
Plus, creating a few "scene_base" a day allows me to change environments, characters, outfits, scene mood etc more often, and therefore I feel less bored and more enthusiastic.
I would even dare to say, a little more creative.

As for my rendering machine, it's been running late on a few statics because of something I had mentioned a few weeks ago.
Scenes were too heavy for my config to render. It resulted in both numerous crashes or extremely slow rendering time.
Well, I've also found a way to correct that.
It might not work every time, but I used it for the render you see above, and let me tell you how much of an improvement it made.

In this render you have 3 characters, multiple objects, lots of lights, especially for the effect of the sunlight, and a big detailed building in the background.
Before applying a new solution that Wibble mentioned to me a month ago (Yes I know, I should listen to him more often) and changing some render parameters, I went from a 35 minutes render before I judged it good enough, to a 13 minutes render!
So almost 3 times faster.
It also means that scenes where I would get a crash because of the amount of details will most likely not crash and render normally.
This is probably the highlight of this week, and I couldn't be happier.

So yeah, back at it once again, but more confident now that lots of my troubles have been solved.

Now, what's next? Well, I intend to finish all "scene_base" of the last episode of The Entrepreneur.
I feel like once that's behind me, it will truly help me to see more clearly as to what's left to do, and how long it should take.
Moreover, it will mean putting one hard part behind me, and that will be a big win, which I do need.

Lately, working on The Entrepreneur has been harder than it ever has during the last 18 months.

I blame my work as a bartender, and my manager which I very much dislike.
Yes, this update will most likely become a diary now, sorry for that lol.
My manager is someone that makes everything you do just harder, less enjoyable.

Most of you will probably agree, working while being angry and fed up, not only makes the time pass slower, but takes a toll on you.
Therefore, every time I went home ready to work on The Entrepreneur I ended up feeling drained and would most likely rest.

And the day before yesterday, yet again, it happened.
But somehow, there was a confrontation which made me realized what really mattered, and it's my game, and moreover you, you who have decided to support me.

In my mind, this work as a bartender was always just a temporary solution up until I could find a way to work 100% of my time on The Entrepreneur and the games to follow, just like I did in France.

And after that realization, the motivation flooded in me. The consistency I had when I was living in France came back. I kept coming home from work, feeling tired, but  I would consume energy drinks, and work like a maniac. And guess what? That felt good.

I have two days off in my week, and that's more than enough to get some sleep, rest, and attack once again the next days.

So, to you, I say thank you, because thanks to you I'm back to workaholic mode like before, and I feel better. Less stress, more hunger for work, and overall, more satisfaction with what I produce.

I can't wait to share more with you during the upcoming weeks.
In the meantime, I might have another hour of energy left in the tank, so let's put it to good use.

I wish you all a good Sunday, and I'll talk to you soon.

Progress update #4 Final episode

So, lately has been challenging for a lot of reasons.
Firstly, when I woke up this morning, one of my screen, after 5 years of hard work had unfortunately passed away.
It means I now need to work on 2 screens instead of 3. I know, poor me, right?
But to be honest, it really makes a difference as I used to have this screen for the script and use the other two to work on the 3D part.
Now, something feels off. So, I bought a new screen on internet.
it will arrive in 8 days, can't wait to receive it.

As for the progress made with the game, I was not really happy with myself up until yesterday.
The thing is, we are currently understaffed where I work, and because of that, my work asks of me to do extra hours or cover other sections of the restaurant, sections which I didn't know anything about and had to learn.
As a result, I was really tired lately, and spent most of my time sleeping.

So yesterday, an idea came up to my mind.
Because I can only work 2-3 hours a day on the days I'm not off, why not try working differently?

The thing is, what takes the most time is whenever you create a new scene, you need to load the characters, the background, the main place where the scene will take place, adjust the lightning etc, etc...
Usually, it takes around an hour for me to do this.
But the issue is, I can't only work 2-3 hours because after 2 hours is when I reach my peak concentration and productivity in a task.
So I usually go into a mindset where I think I'm going to waste my time working, which means I was feeling demotivated to even turn on the computer and get to work.

And yesterday, an idea came to mind.
Since it only takes me around an hour to setup a new scene, why not set all of them up?
That way I can put the "hardest part" behind me, and not feel overwhelmed and discouraged whenever I only have 2 or 3 hours to work.
So what I mean by that, is that today and yesterday were two days where what I did was just think about each and every day that are scheduled, look at my document what event where to happen on those days, create the "base_scene" where I would load the place, the characters, both main and backgrounds, adjust the lightning, etc, etc.
I managed to create everything for day 2, 3 and start attacking on day 4.

It may not mean much to you guys, but to me, it's a huge win.
I also got started on the second LEWD scene of this episode, so I secured 3 animations which will help me keeping the rendering station busy.

And that's about it.

I wish I could have put more work in the game lately, but it's one of those phases where it's going slower.
Luckily, yesterday I found something to still maintain a certain level of productivity, and that's a good thing.

Anyway, next week I will drop a poll for the 4K wallpaper of next month, and other than that, I will work as much as I can.

As always, have a good week, thanks again for your support, and I'll see you soon.

4K Wallpaper of September - Laura the Sex Slave ?!

Progress update #3 Final episode

This last week I was happy with myself as I managed to create entirely a LEWD scene, which contains 8 animations and 45 statics.
It might not be much when you put it like this, but it's been a tiring week, and LEWD scenes are always longer to create.

I also did some story writing, and started another scene of day 2, which I believe will be done quickly.
For this update, my aim is to secure the LEWD scenes ASAP, as they usually take around 2 weeks for my rendering station to complete, depending on the length of... hum, hum, the animations.

So when my rendering station works on LEWD scenes, I'm creating "normal scenes", and when it finished, I start on another LEWD scene.
And there will be plenty, trust me.

Also, I decided to not do a poll regarding the 4K wallpaper of this month, only because it's already the 5th. I know I'm late, and I apologize.
I've decided that the 4K model for September would be Laura, as she didn't get much attention in the previous polls.
I hope some of you will be happy!

And regarding the customs, they're not all created yet, but will be delivered this week.

I like how my time is managed, and I make good progress so that's a good thing.
One thing scares me though, it's that this rhythm I have right now, I probably won't be able to keep it for more than a few months.
It's tiring, and takes a lot of time, I'd say that I work around 80 hours a week, between my daytime job and creating the Entrepreneur.
I know that at some point, I'll have to take a some time off, just to come back ready to hit it at full capacity again.

Therefore, I already know that this last episode won't be out before the end of this year.
I blame the fact that I lost over a month when I wasn't able to work on the game, and that I know work 42 hours per week on another job, but also that this episode will be bigger than any other before.

I kept my releases 4 months maximum appart up until now, putting in a lot of content every time, so I like to believe you know I'm a workaholic and that it's with regret that I will have to take more than 4 months this time.

Do not worry though, as I'm pretty sure it will be finished for early 2023.

Anyway, lots to do, as always, but as of right now, time to get some sleep.
I wish you a great week,

Progress update #2 Final episode

So this week has been good for the most part.
Created some content, started on the first lewd scene, which should have 5 or 6 animations, so lots of content for my rendering station which is good.

I was a little disappointed though because one scene I created has around 40 statics in it and 30 of them can't render because there are too much characters and or objects in it which result in a crash every time I try to render them.

It's just a waste of time because it'll probably take 5-6 hours to individually open all of them and delete some assets to make sure they can render.
Not only do I dislike it because 6 hours is practically all I can put in for one day of work for me as of right now, but also because it'll affect the realism of certain scenes which I dislike.
Anyway, we'll see.

For the rest, everything is good.

Making progress as always, love to see everything that I planned is coming to life as  I create the scenes, and turns out to be as good as I imagined.

Anyway, still a lot of work to do, so I wish you a great Sunday.

Progress update #1 Final episode

Hello everyone,

Today marks the end of the week, and what a productive week this has been.
Since I've started working on The Entrepreneur again, I managed to work both a full time job as a bartender and an AVn developer.

It was a tiring week to say the least, but I'm happy because I managed to finish a whole day of the new update in just 10 days. That's a lot, because it totals a little over 180 statics and 8 animations, which is really good.

I hope I'll be able to keep up with this pace for the next months.
This next update has 10 days scheduled + a "conclusion".
I'd love to pull out some mathematic rules that would say that the game will be completed in 3 months, but of course, that won't work.

Loads of work ahead of me again, but a good part is already secured, and that's a good thing.

Regarding 4K wallpapers and customs, I was supposed to deliver them today, but I'm afraid it will most likely be during next week.
I'm taking the evening "off" since my rendering station has stuff to do for a while, and I'll mostly do writing.

I don't want to overdo it and get fed up with 3D work, so I try to go easy on that, as it really gets tiring at some point.

Anyway, I hope you all had a good weekend, and I'll talk to you soon.

Guess who's back?

Finally, after a little over a month of inactivity due to me moving to another country, we are back on track.

Firstly, let me thank every single one of you.
You've supported me even though I was inactive, and your kind messages helped wait more patiently.

For that, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you. I wish I could buy you all a Guinness, so if you're ever in Dublin, let's meet at Riley's!

On another note, let me tell you what's to expect for the next few months.
This next update of The Entrepreneur will be the last one.

We're reaching the end of the game, and I feel like I need to move on to something else, putting everything I've learnt to good use and create a much bigger game.

We're also reaching the end of The Entrepreneur as I wrote it, so I don't see myself stretching it out just to get two updates.

The good news is, this next update will be much bigger as opposed to the other ones, about the size of one and a half update.

That also means I will probably take more time working on it.

The last impression you'll have of my game is what matters the most, so I can't go releasing something done too quickly.

I will come up with a timeline one day, but as of right now I have no idea how long it will take for me to do it all.

Next thing I want to talk about as well, is custom renders and 4k wallpapers of the month.

Later today, I will upload two polls, one for the 4k wallpaper model of July, and the other for August.
I promised you two 4k wallpapers before I left France, and I will do it.
Also, tiers that get access to custom renders will be able to order two of them.

I'll send you an email or a message on discord so we can plan this.

I think I've said it all, so I will finish with this.
I'm extremely happy to have been abled to move to Ireland and keep working on TE.
This would have never crossed my mind almost a year and half ago, that I would have gathered a community of people enjoying what I create this much.
It warms my heart, and gives me the motivation and the courage to face those hard months to come.
For that, once again, I thank you.

I'll see you all very soon,

Update The Entrepreneur

Hello everyone.

I'm writing to you today to let you know a little bit more about my current situation.

It's been 12 days now that I've moved to Dublin, and I haven't received my setup yet, which is why I can't work on the next episode of The Entrepreneur.

In a way, I need to admit that the first week off felt good, but I'm now impatient to start working again.
I know that the weeks that will follow the arrival of my setup will be extremely productive!

I also wanted to thank each and every single one of you for your support, which means a lot to me.

I'll make sure to make it up to you as soon as I can get back to work.

In the meantime, I wish you a great week.

Post update thoughts + News

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to thank you all for the support and the warm feedback you've given me after playing this third episode of The Entrepreneur.

I know it's not officially out yet, but I have been inactive lately on Patreon and I wanted to explain it all to you.

First, let's talk about the game.

This third episode has been liked by many of you, and I'm glad you found it enjoyable.

Some issues have been mentioned to me regarding the story, issues that I need to fix, but don't affect particularly the story that much.

Those issues though, won't likely be fixed for the official release and that brings me to some news I'd like to share with you.

If you've been following the game for the last few months, you might have realized that I'm pretty reactive when it comes to answering your questions, or even just chat with you.

But lately, during those last 2 weeks I would say, I've been busy a lot because of something big happening in my life.

Some of you already know, but I'm leaving France and moving to Ireland in 4 days.

It's a always been a dream of mine, and I think now is the right time for me to do it.

But it's been really taxing on me, on my energy, my time, and my health.

Which is why, I can't even come up with a special Irish render featuring Valentine as I would have wanted, because I focus all my free time on working on the fourth episode of The Entrepreneur.

The reason for that is that my setup will be shipped by a company to Ireland, and I won't have access to it for at least two weeks, which is a bummer.

So, because I hate to postpone updates, I'm trying to get as much work done as possible before I leave.

I also decided that this month won't have the monthly 4k Wallpaper contest, nor the custom renders.
Of course, what I'll do is that for everyone subscribed to the 10$ tiers and plus for this month, even if you stop it during July, you'll have access to two 4K wallpapers for the month of August.

And same thing goes for the 50$ tier and custom renders.

I hope you'll find it fair enough.

Anyway, looks like it will finally happen: I will take 2 weeks off of work.
Damn. Feels weird.

Once again, I'd like to thank you all for supporting me and The Entrepreneur this month, and welcome everyone that's new.

I wish I could drink my first Irish Guinness with you all, but all I can do is thank you warmly.

Anyway, lots to do, as always, so I wish you a great weekend.

Progress update Episode 3

Hello my dear Patrons,

It feels like I haven't kept you updated regarding episode 3 since all that's left is for my rendering station to create the animations and the statics I queued.

I have started working on the photoshop part, and everything's going smoothly.
In my opinion, the game will be ready really soon.
That will leave plenty of time to my testers to try it out.

I'd like to announce the release plan for episode 3:

June 22: 20$ patrons and above
June 29: 10 $ patrons and above
July 6: 5$ patrons and above
July 13: Official release

It's the method I haven't tried last time for episode 2, and it's been recommended to me by other developers.

I still have to adjust a few things between the 10$tier and 15$ tiers which would make the last one more attractive than the first one since the game will be available for both of those tiers at the same time.

And now, for the music.
I decided that I will go with Artlist as the music provider for this episode as well.

I still haven't found a solution regarding the DMCA notice, but I figured that as long as the game isn't on Steam, it won't be much of an issue.
The Entrepreneur will be released on Steam both when it's completed, and when I'll have found a viable solution for the music.

I like to think that people who DL the game before it's launched on Steam will have some sort of a "OG" version of The Entrepreneur.

I'd like to thank all the new patrons and the ones who stayed with me and trusted me this month again.
Your support is what motivates me and help me work on the game as hard as I do!

Anyway, everything's going great for now, I'll publish the 4k wallpaper of June pretty soon, and in the meantime, I wish you all a great week.

The Entrepreneur Episode 3 - Date release

We're almost there.

I'm finally able to come with a realistic date for the release of The Entrepreneur Episode 3.

I've changed a few things in some animations which will reduce up to almost 20% the time of rendering without affecting the overall quality of the renders.

I'm nowhere near finding a solution regarding the music issue though, as my latest option have led me, well, nowhere.
But I'm confident that I'll come up with something.

I'm so glad to say that this episode will have been produced in only 3 months and a half.

Thanks again for your patience, and see you soon.

Progress update Episode 3

So, I come with good news today.
First of all, my rendering station is working extremely well on the last Lewd scenes to render which has 7 animations.
They total 1280 frames which should have taken around 11-12 days.
But because of the optimization of the scene because it's a night scene, there's not much to load and we're actually looking at 180 renders a day, which is pretty awesome. I saved a few precious day and I'm happy about it.

If it wasn't for the music issue, I would have a date to give you guys regarding the 3rd Episode of The Entrepreneur.

And that brings me to this.

I may have found a new provider for the music, but I'm still discussing with the support to make sure my use of their songs won't cause me any problem.

They took several time to answer, so that's a bit of a bummer, but we'll see.

Because I'm done with the big part of my work which is the 3d creation of both statics and animations, I decided to take a week off away from home.
My rendering station will be working on the statics in the meantime, so it should all be good and I won't waste a day.

I need this time off to come back relaxed and ready to face the stress, the tiredness and the amount of work that comes with the weeks before a release.

Anyway, that was it for today's progress update, we're getting closer to the release of The Entrepreneur Episode 3, and I can't wait.

Have a great week-end,

MisterMaya

Progress update Episode 3

So, good news first.
I've finished creating every renders and animations for the Episode 3.

All writing is done as well, so all that's left to do now is render all the statics and animations, do a little bit of postwork on photoshop, and finally add them in the game.

All that's left to do is for my rendering station to create the animations.
That's going to take a lot of time, because of the amount I queued.

And this is why.
Let me announce to you the number for the Episode 3:

51 animations
1350 static renders
(number may slightly vary because some of them won't be used)
4200 lines of dialogue

I just want to point out that those 51 animations gathered if I recall correctly a little over 9500 animated frames (yikes), which is why this takes so long for my machine to render. As a quick reminder, my rendering station can create around 120 renders a day, so we're looking at two and a half months of work just for the animations.

Anyway, that was the good news.

Now for the less good news.

For those of you who don't know Drifty, he's a developer just like me, and he's creating a great game which is called Leap of Faith.

Recently, Drifty had an issue with copyrights regarding the music he uses for the game.
Apparently, he couldn't use some songs with an adult game, as it was going against the terms of use.

Why am I talking about this? Because just like Drifty, I take my songs from the same "provider", for a lack of a better word.

Fortunately, Artlist, which is the provider, decided to not pursue this copyright claim any further.

But I'm scared that eventually, it could happen again.

I'm currently looking for another license to use, but nothing so far.

So, that's a bummer.

We'll see if Drifty comes up with another solution, but as of right now, his game is without music. And I wouldn't like that for my game.

Bottom line is I will not be using Artlist again, and that means that I need to find a solution because I can't release Episode 3 without music.

So, even though I have an idea for a release in June, I won't give you any date right now because I want to find a solution about the music first.

Well, that was it!
I'm truly happy that all the "hard work" is done, because it really is the hardest and most tiring part of the job.

It gives me time to create silly renders for fun, such as this one.

I'll come up with much more thing and keep posting hints and "facegram posts" of the characters on Twitter now that I have more time.

Anyway, I wish you all a good week-end.

Progress update episode 3 - Possible delay

So as the title says it, I'm afraid there's a slight chance the episode 3 will be postponed.

The issue is that my rendering station will probably have a hard time rendering all the animations in time.
There's a TON of animations for this episode.
Some of them, are as long as 8 seconds, and it may not seem that much, but that means 240 statics to render, and that usually takes about 2 days.
So far, I have 17 animations rendered, 13 animations queued, so around a month of work, and probably 15 others to create. (of course, not all of them are 8 seconds long)

I would hate it if I had to get rid of some animations in order to be ready for the initial date release as I feel it would diminish the overall quality of this episode

As you know if you've played my game, I like to use animations to better express the emotions of the characters, and add a little something to the atmosphere of the scene.

I like to think of it as my signature, and it's very important to me.

It's a shame that my workload is consistent and good enough so that I'm almost done with creating the 3d part, but I'm held back by my hardware.

And of course, there are also around 1000 statics to render in addition to those animations, which means 9 days of rendering.

The computer on which I create the renders will be used as a rendering station as soon as I'm done with the 3d part, but will work slower due to a less performant CPU.

I'm honest when I'm telling you I never would have thought I'd be held back because of this aspect!

But on the bright side, it means that I can put in the required work so that my rendering station isn't waiting for me to create content (if that makes sense) .

There are opportunity to explore, such as cloud rendering, so we never know.

I just wanted to be transparent with you all.

Appart from that, work is doing great.
I'm progressing really fast, and I can't wait to share it.

I will probably have finished creating the animations and the statics in about 9-10 days I believe.
It really is the creative part of my work which require the most concentration, so the rest of the work will be "easier" for me.

My health is doing great by the way, I thank some of you who have expressed that concern.
I'm still in my young years I believe, even though I'm getting close to the thirties, but I feel like it is now I need to work as much as I can, because I'm still able to handle it.

I've gone a year working 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, up until 5 am, and it was hard toward the end.

But now, it's been month I've changed my lifestyle.
I actually wake up at 5am and work up until noon, then take the afternoon off.

Weirdly enough, I'm getting as much work done! And I do feel better.

Anyway, I've written a lot, but I had a lot to say.
The concern about my rendering station had me worked up for the last week and I needed to tell you about it.

I'll get back to work, and in the meantime, I wish you all a great week-end !

Progress update episode 3

So, last two weeks have been great.

Much progress has been made, especially since I received my new GPU.
I finished two lewd scenes, which will bring 11 animations to the game, so my rendering station will be pretty busy for the next two weeks or so.

I can't come up with numbers yet, but as I've said before, my goal is to create episodes which are pretty much all equal in terms of statics, dialogues, animations and story content.

So far, I'd say that 1/3 of the job is done for that episode, and I'm pretty happy with myself.

If I'm being "pessimist",  I'd say that I am about 2 days ahead of schedule.
So, no time for resting :)

Have a great week,

4k Wallpaper of April - Valentine

So, last winner was Valentine, and with the number of votes each tiers has, it was very close between her and Alexa.

Hope you'll like this render which you can download in full 4K quality right here.

Progress update + change in the renders of the month

Last week was a bit of a bummer regarding 3D work because of my GPU.
It's getting too slow, and I so I decided to upgrade my working station.

I ordered a new GPU, which should arrive in a few days now.

I still got some work done but it was painful because of the animations to create and the characters involved.

On the bright side, I put in a lot of work with the script.
I'm really far ahead on that part and that's great.

Work is still in progress, but I'm excited for what's coming.

Now, I'd like to talk about the renders of the month.
With the increase of patrons, as well as higher tiers, I have more custom renders to create, and it takes me sometimes a few days to get it all done.

When creating renders of the month, it's usually a day or two of work. The problem with this is not so much the time it takes, but the ideas I need in order to create a unique render every time.
At some point, I'll run out of assets, ideas, originality, and that I don't want.

Also, in the different tiers, there's a poll advantage that I feel is pretty useless when you look at how much poll I open a month.

So all that led me to take this decision.
There will now be a 4K wallpaper every month, featuring one of the many women of The Entrepreneur, and you'll vote for the model every month.

It will be available to chicken tiers and up, as well as the monthly renders were.

I will publish a poll at the end of every month, so that this 4K wallpaper is available around the beginning of the next month.

So, with that being said, I wish you all a great week.

Progress update Episode 3

This last week had seen some huge advancements for the coding part.

I didn't get much 3D work done, because for some reason I didn't want to.
Taking a step back of 3D working for almost a whole week was good though, because this morning I'm ready to get on it, and I'm motivated.

I'm thinking about upgrading my working station because a few components such as my graphic card are getting outdated, and getting a new one would help me create scenes a little faster.
Whenever I create a scene with more than 4 characters, the time for me to fix every limb's position, faces' expressions and then test it to see how it looks takes longer and longer.

Changing my GPU, as well as my RAM, would hep a lot.

Anyway, I feel like I'm still progressing pretty fast.
After I'll have created a 3D scene today, which should take about 40 statics and 2 animations, I'll have completed the first day of the third episode, and that feels really good.

So, I'll get back to it.

Have a great week,
