Heyya guys!

Since my previous tut got so much attention, I decided to show you another way of creating a viscous fluid setup. Technically, it doesn't fill the shape like the FLIP in previous tut, but I share some tips & tricks how to fill a closed container and overcome vellum solver issues you might have had when doing so. I didn't plan to mix the colors at first but then remembered this cool flip fluid sim made by Gabriel Morala and thought that all the swirls could look cool on the surface.

P.S. I decided to do a separate tutorial where we go step-by-step modeling the top part, I'll be recording it today, so expect it soon next week :)

Hey guys!

This one took me some time as I again dived deep into the flip sim haha. In today's tutorial, we use flip to fill in the shape of the collider, but as I didn't want to spend hours caching it, I used a lower-res sim and then morphed it with the VDB of the initial shape. Sounds complex, but it is not :)

Heya guys! It's this rare day when we do some meshed flip fluids! Inspired by MvsM Honey renders and a particular project by Aahritya.tv, this one took me so long to get it looking good haha, but I hope you will find lots of tips & tricks and your flip setups will become much easier.

Vellum Swirls Look Dev [3 scenes]

Heyya guys!

Today we are creating 3 scenes using some vellum, but our main goal is to use beginner friendly techniques and come up with something decent haha :) This tutorial is more about art direction, lights, scene composition etc, so its a great practice to elevate these skills in addition to the technical side of Houdini.

Although there are many projects utilizing abstract fabric shots, I found inspiration in Xfinity project done by FutureDeluxe

Heyya everyone! Exploring some wavy-swirly vellum shots this time. Its something less technical than we usually do, but i found these, usually, "transition" shots very versatile and used it lots and lots of motion projects, so in the upcoming tutorial we will create these 3 scenes, focusing on the scene setup, lights and textures.

Heyya guys! 


To finish the line of our RBD explorations, I wanted to share some classic, basic and universal methods of setting up RBD sim consisting of multiple objects that interact with each other :) In this tut I cover fundamental principles of how it all works, so I think this will be a great basis for all your future explorations :)

P.S. I will take a break from RBD for sometime, as we have 4 RBD tuts in line already, so expect some vellum, fluid and maybe even pop stuff coming up next!

Today we are setting up a growing vellum cable emitter! Initially, this artwork by Ruye was requested as a tutorial by Ali, but Kash came in with a hip file even before i saw that request haha.
So, i wasn't sure if there is a need for a tut, but i think there is still value in it, as there are lots i added and/or modified. So here we have it.

Having lots of fun with that 2D smoke sim from previous tut, so wanted to check how to translate this to the swirly, weightless, vellum sim :) Technique itself is pretty straight forward, but there are couple of styling tricks i applied to achieve this look.
