10 Years of the MCU on Guitar

It's finally done!

Way back in 2013 I always dreamed of making a Marvel, and after I did that I knew I had to try and top it in some way, so this has been one of the biggest projects I've worked on. There was a lot of late nights and waiting on files to export and render, but it's finally out and I hope you enjoy it!

Also, next week celebrates the 80th anniversary of Superman so I'll be doing the classic Superman theme!

I've been working super hard over the past month, along with doing with doing the weekly (and bi-weekly) videos, I've been working on my longest video yet, it'll be 15 minutes long and it should be out next week!

More cartoon themes!

So you heard the rough draft of the song last week and this is the final version. I rerecorded everything and spent the week working on the rest of the song. 

I'm not entirely happy with my guitar tones at the moment, so I'm trying to work on them for the next video. The next one is going to be the longest video I've done so far, It should be out next Wednesday, then April 18th is the anniversary of Superman so I'll be doing the original Superman theme then!

Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Preview

This is what 2 hours of work generally sounds like.

I always start off by creating the orchestra parts for the song. It usually takes less than an hour to recreate it, because I've gotten pretty good at identifying the different parts and different instruments.

After the orchestra is done I just record each orchestra part on the guitar, it gives me a nice simple process of just taking the MIDI and recording it section by section. At this point in the song I'm not worried about mistakes o...

These ones are nice and easy to do so I'm able to get two done a week.

Next week I'll only be doing one video, it'll be another cartoon one but I want to get it done and out of the way as quickly as possible so I can have a week and a half to get the next video done, it'll be my longest video yet!

What I'm thinking of doing this year is trying to do a ton of cartoon themes and release an album full of all of these nostalgic themes, I think it would be pretty cool!

I'm currently working on the tabs for this one, I was a bit behind schedule today but they should be up shortly!

Spectacular Spider-Man Theme

Everyone on YouTube has been asking for this one for months and I finally got around to it! I was a bit hesitant at first because it's always difficult to emulate vocals on guitar but I think it turned out okay!

So hopefully you enjoy all of the tabs and stems, I've been working on them over the past couple of months. It's not too bad doing one tab after a video is finished because it's fresh in my mind and it only takes an hour or so, but when you have 50 tabs to do and they go all the way back to 3 years ago it takes a bit longer to do.

Going on a Patreon break

As I currently have a new job I don't really need the extra support from Patrons. It was more of a way to supplement my YouTube earnings to make this a more viable source of income. Attack on Titan Opening 2

I'm really not a big anime watcher, when I was younger of course I would watch Dragonball Z and Pokemon, and when I was slightly older I watched Avatar and Attack on Titan, but they all seem to be very Western-ised anime, I've tried watching Death Note (which is apparently one of the more popular ones) but I didn't like it at all. Spider-Man Homecoming Theme

Finally done! Ducktales Woo-ooh ooh! I'm really happy with how this on turned out, I would say this is among my 5 favourite videos that I've done. I think I managed to keep the feel of the original but still added my own flair to it.

Mad Max Fury Road Theme

So from now videos will be on Wednesday, I mention why in the description of the video but basically it's that I can't record videos at the weekend when my family are home so leaving it until Wednesday will allow me to work on the song over the weekend and record on Monday or Tuesday so I just have more time to work on the songs themselves.

Uncharted 4 - A Thief's End

After last week I really wanted to try and do this theme justice. I'm almost finished Uncharted 4, it's a great game so far, it looks gorgeous and the voice acting is (as always) amazing, everything feels so genuine and real.

Young Justice Theme

Ugh this theme really frustrated me this week. I'm not really happy with how it turned out, there was something about the electronic noises and the drums etc that was really difficult to replicate. I tried to layer it up with a lot of guitar parts to try and replicate the feel of the original but it never felt right. I tried to bring it back to just the main lead parts but then it felt too bare, and when I layered it up it felt way too busy and muddy, so I tried to reach a somewhat halfway point...

Injustice 2 Theme

I said last week that this week would be the Spider Man 90s Animated Series, but I didn't realise how difficult that was going to be. The song itself is pretty simple but most of it is covered up with sound effects and distorted Daft Punk style vocals so I might have to leave that for another day.

Album Update

So for those that don't know I'm working on a Marvel album, I'm going back and redoing all of the Marvel songs and putting them all together into one album.  

This is my progress so far, I still have most of the rhythm guitars to do and then the lead guitars, I'm taking extra care with both of those just because I want them to sound very precise and clean, no mess-ups, so they're taking  a bit longer than expected. And then after recording I'll have to go back and redo the mixing and...

And we're done! This was a heck of a challenge to do all of the Marvel themes over the past few months but it was really fun. It was a nice way to try and improve my skills in preparation for doing my Marvel Album.

Thor Theme

Hey guys! So this is the second to last Marvel video, next up  will be the first Iron Man theme!

In case you didn't know, after I finish this batch of Marvel videos, I'm going to go back and rerecord, remix and remaster everything and put them in all into an album, that'll take a couple of weeks of re-recording most of the old ones, then remixing everything so they sound better than my first versions.

The Incredible Hulk Theme

This time we're back for one of the old ones, this is 9 years old now, that's crazy to think that the MCU began 9 years with Iron Man and Hulk and now we have Spiderman and The Avengers.

I really love how heavy this one turned out, it really suits the Hulk and I think this is one of the strongest themes in the MCU. I have two themes left, next up is Thor and then onto the one that started it all, Iron Man. Hope you enjoy this one!

Agent Carter Theme

So this is the last of the Marvel shows that I have to do (for the moment, Iron First has to wait for now). I have 3 left to do, Thor, The Incredible Hulk and then the original Iron Man! I know this one is a bit more obscure compared to the popular movies and shows but I hope you enjoy it regardless!
