Doing a little preparation for Hanna Solo script and noticed that this comic doesn’t have a cover!

So for the 40min sketching this morning to keep my wrist and thumb nimble, I did a quick mockup of the cover trying to keep with a classic Star Wars poster feel to it.
I’ve been watching the Mandalorian and can’t wait for Boba Fett to make his appearance!

Okay... I’ve been cheating a little since the first poll. I wasn’t expecting Red Sonja to do so well in the polls so I kind of took the splint off three times since for about half an hour to do some drawing. I didn’t want to push it so these are very unfinished. Okay, I’ve been cheating a little. I took the splint off this morning to see if I can still draw. Its rough but I know it always takes a little time to get everything back. I do find when I take a break, I’m able to get rid of some bad drawing habits (or learn some new ones!)
I wasn’t expecting the reception for a Red Sonja comic in the last poll! My concern is that Red Sonja isn’t a major comic character and I’m hoping that everyone knows who she is as she has been passed...

So the break could have resulted in permanent damage to the bone without surgery but doesn’t because it wasn’t displaced (everything still lines up).
The doctor is concerned that if I dont let it heal properly it could become displaced and says it needs to be splinted 24hrs for 4-6 weeks. :(

Every year, I run a secret Santa for artists over at JabComix.com’s forums. Artists make a wish and then draw a name who’s wish they are going to draw and on Christmas Day we reveal everyone’s presents.
My OC Heather Fifflebottom is the drawing jam’s mascot and I usually do a drawing of her to kick it off but with my hand, I asked JAB to do the drawing this year and boy, it is so AMAZING that I had to share it. MarkKleanup did the inks and Moose did the colours.

I actually took it off the splint a couple of times to see if I can draw and it felt great. No pain or loss of motion at all so hopefully the doctor gives me the okay.
Even if she does say I need to keep the splint on, I’m going to push for me to remove it for a few hours a day for drawing.

I think because I said I’m a comic artist they are being super careful. I was thinking that their primary goal is to keep me happy and healthy so I can get back to work and do not cost the government more in disability payments and long term medical care down the road.

She said that although it’s probably just a bruise, the loss of use of my thumb is too much of a risk to take any chances so even a 90% chance of a bone bruise is not good enough and they want to get to 100%.
Once that shows nothing I’m sure they’ll let me take the splint off.

next 2 weeks we’ll see how bad(surgery?) but docs dont tink so most likely 6 weeks.
docs said that either way because of the bone broken if not healed properly I could llose a lot of mobility in the thumb which would be horrible.

I was working toward the ending of this comic which I originally really liked however like my original ending for "Sibling Rivalry" I thought the comic leaves us in a really strange state. (if you remember, the story was supposed to end with Shag selling Little Lorna into sexual slavery and then going to Miami to buy her back and then Luke and Little Lorna having a sweet moment at the end).
