After all the recent negativity over Patreon being a bunch of Orwellian cunts, here's me trying to be positive with plans for 2019.
2018 (and 2017) were a little weird. In terms of word count I'm still producing a decent amount of content. In total word count, "Escape Volumpula, the Pink Jelly" was about the same size as a large novella and "2019-01-02 13:51:25 +0000 UTC

Thank you to the people sending me comments over the past couple of days.
In case you were unaware, Patreon have been de-platforming creators on what appear to be ideological or political grounds. I object strongly to this for both ethical and practical reasons.
Ethically, I believe it wrong for a company to discriminate on political or ideological affiliation and hide this behind a gauze of vague "hate speech" rules. This has been happening far too regularly and compa...

First up, apologies for the quietness this December. Some other-life stuff cropped up at the start of the month and by the time I was through it I was caught up in the holidays.
And then Patreon decided to shit the bed…
I'm not going to go into it in great detail, but I am of the opinion Patreon is no longer a safe or trustworthy platform for creators. If it wasn't for the fact other work had caused my current writing projects to fall behind sch...

Apologies for the belated update. I've had some dental work done which has knocked me about a bit (having bits of metal screwed into your skull will do that!).
So, what has Hydra been up to?
As part of my commitment to patrons, I've been looking at posting story ideas from my ideas file and behind-the-scenes looks at some of my stories. I wanted to do a piece on H-space, but I wasn't really happy with how that piece was turning out. Mostly, I was u...

Bit of a late update post as I've been fighting off winter lurgy for most of the week. As a result things have been a little spotty this week. I have a free weekend, though, so I'm hoping to catch up again.
The booby monster story is into the sexy snu-snu phase. I don't think she will actually turn the protagonist into milk, but I suspect he will end up being buried in soft boobflesh. This is the release I want to get out this month, to try and keep to my ambition of gi...

A quick update post as I'm away this weekend.
The boob monster short story is progressing nicely. I managed to wrestle the back story to roughly where I want it and now it's time to give the protagonist some fun in the boob dimension. I'm aiming to try and give patrons something nice as exclusives (even if temporary), so I have this penciled in for November (providing I finish it in time).
Petalina's Flower Show is progressing a little slower. I kn...

Okay, I did say I'd give patrons some insight into my creative process. Although I... uh... might have gone into greater detail and length than I originally planned on this one (it was supposed to go up on Monday). I've also added it as a word .doc as it's probably a little too long to be a good fit for a post.
So, on with the dissection:
Okay, we're not actually going to dissect a succubus. That would be yuck.
This is part of something I sai...

I'm currently creating passages and flinging them around in Twine for the next CYOA scenario. Working title at the moment is "Escape Petalina's Flower Show". I'm not sure what Petalina is and I don't think the CYOA will clear this up. She looks elfin, likes gardening, and is quite possibly completely insane.
The scenario will have the player being exposed to various of Petalina's plants, and trying to avoid being completely drained or eaten by them.
I think this could b...

(or should that be Bubblicious. Hmm....)
As part of my continued efforts to try and offer something more to patrons (you will get semi-exclusive stories at some point!) I thought I'd open up the ideas file.
One of the best bits of advice I can to an aspiring writer (or any other creator) is to keep a notebook (or .doc file on your computer) and jot down any sweet story ideas as you get them. For me it is usually erotic scenes, monster girl ideas and sometimes whole sto...

Whoops. I think my last post might have come across a little more flippant than I intended, as it looks like I lost a couple of you. My fault, I'll have to put out more juicy succubus smutness to win you back.
And on that subject. I didn't think I was going to make Literotica's Halloween Contest this year, but 4,000 words on a very manic Monday later, I have a new story out:<...

I was abducted. They did... things to me.
Just kidding. I took a little vidya break to recharge the batteries and it seems to have worked as a short story I've been stuck on for a while appears to have unlocked. It might be the entrant I get done for Literotica's Halloween competition. It might not. I have a few ideas swirling around and I'll see if I can hammer them out next week. I used to keep a stockpile of short stories/series chapters, and it's time to...

"Escape Volumpula, the Pink Jelly" is out. If you're a patron, you can grab that file from the previous post.
Please let me know what you think - what worked, what didn't (and most importantly - let me know if anything seems broken!)
After completing these things I usually like to review the code a little and see what can be cleaned up and what can be generalised to shave time off future scenarios. How Twine/Sugarcube handles arrays is quirky, and will be something I need to ...

Whew. That took longer than expected. I'll have to take a look at my work process and see where I can improve things for future scenarios.
The CYOA scenario is ready though. I'm going to make it available early to patrons (because you lovely people gave me money to make this!) and post it up for the general public to read about a week from now (and hopefully gain new patrons in the process).
As with the arachne scenario, the paths through the scenario can be fairl...

Whew. I'm glad I asked on that. No credits or Opt-in seems to be the more popular option.
Okay, so I'll tentatively go Opt-in. If you don't mind being on a list of patrons included at the end of the CYOA, let me know in the comments with the handle you'd like me to use.
If I get more than a few names I'll run that list + "and thanks to my other patrons" (or similar message).
If it's only a few names I'll go with a simple "Thank you to all my patrons" type messag...

Okay, this is the second, patron-only, post I alluded to in the weekly update post.
I'm not far from release. This will be the first thing I've put out since starting up the Patreon. I'm still fairly new at this, but I know creators usually to add a list of patrons to their work's credits as a thank you. I would like to do the same.
However...

Here is the weekly update. As with all things coding, things take longer than I think.
I'm now at the debugging stage. So far the easy stuff looks fine - a few formatting fixes, editing typos, etc.
Sugarcube for Twine does have a few quirks related to arrays. I'm reading up on workarounds at the moment. I'll probably do a full post on it after the scenario is released. One of the things I promised with the Patreon was to also give patrons access to the...

Actually, it isn't. However, my estimations at how long things will take...
Turns out there was a little bit more than just plugging text into the existing skeleton. There was also a hefty bit of formatting and some tinkering with conditional logic.
The CYOA scenario breaks down roughly into 12 segments. 9 of those are wired up, 3 are still to go, and I'll be plowing through them over the next couple of days and the weekend.
I'm going to avoid predictions of...

It's been a little slow and sludgy. For some reason I always run into productivity problems whenever a phase/chapter/story runs longer than I'd like, and the last week or so has been a bit of a brutal crawl.
The majority of the scenes are now all typed up. I'd say all of them are done, but based on my past experience with the Arachne CYOA, I usually find I've missed the odd little transition scene here and there when I come to stitch the whole thing together.
The next phase i...

Sluggish is probably the best description for progress.
Like I'm stuck in a big ball of her jelly and trying to run for it. She's not letting me go...
It is progressing though, just a little slower than I'd like.
I made a slight error with a couple of the sex acts. Or rather, I got a little carried away and realized the number of parts I wrote didn't fit the original plan. Nothing a few tweaks can't fix.
I'm still learning this stuff to some ex...

Been bounced around on real-life work related things last few days, but on the positive side all the waiting around in airports and flying did allow me to get the 1st draft of the Escape the Pink Jelly CYOA written. It nearly filled the whole notebook. I'm curious to see what the final word count on this is going to be!
Here's a list of what's been done and what still needs doing:
-Layout and Coding in Twine: Done-ish
-1st Draft (freehand): Done-ish
-2nd Draft (typing ...

Work on "Escape the Pink Jelly Girl" is progressing. I'm currently in a weird hybrid state of typing up the various passage entries while still writing the final scenes. (This normally happens when some scenes are proving a little awkward to write - I move to the 2nd draft stage and give them a chance to unknot themselves before I get back to them).
Anyway, here's a little introduction to Volumpula. She's going to be your playmate in the upcoming "Escape the..." CY...

Welcome. If I've got this right, this should be visible to patrons only.
First, thank you very much for supporting me. It is much appreciated.
This is where I will be posting updates as well as some original content. You will also get to see work before I officially release it.
Currently I have a short story on the go (1st draft about 50% done) and a CYOA scenario featuring a very bouncy slime girl (1st draft about 66% done).
In the meantime, because...
