Announcement About the Magazine

Due to popular request. I've decided to make a small change to the magazine schedule. I originally announced I'd compile October and November in a single issue but that's not happening anymore.

Instead, Issue No. 1 will include October's content and I will gift this one to all my patreon supporters regardless of pledge level.

This is a one time only gift to all of you and is meant to show you all what the magazine is going to look like. And also t...

311 South Hildberg

Denizens of the Tower

This is the town of South Hildberg, an idyllic place removed from most of the atrocities in a fantasy world. It is located south of a large capital and close to the sea. The place has never seen war or conflict. But times are changing and even the relatively safe countryside is becoming a place to be cautious about. There are tales of savage bandits and orc clans roaming the lands but they have not dared attack South Hildberg. Not that they'll have any trouble doin...

And if you are not subscribed anymore, thank you too for your support when the time was right for you to do so.  My current line of work and position in the RPG market would not have been possible without your help.

Most of the illustration elements are properly named and arranged in folders in the layer area. Some assets like textures or smart objects have been ras...

Avocados are illegal now but we have a supplier!

Traveler from a foreign land!

Today I bring you a story which can be as serious as you want, but I was really thinking in a light-hearted, over-the-top, and fun adventure. In this adventure, the son of the kind was very sick from avocado allergy and the man decided to outlaw all avocados!

However, as it often happens, prohibition caused the demand to skyrocket and many criminal cells shifted their focus to the green gold. There are now complicated smuggling operations to satisfy t...

Revamped Goblet of Fireflies

Denizens of the Tower,

To celebrate the silver medal status of our adventure Goblet of Fireflies, we have revamped the whole adventure. We redid the layout, added art, fixed some errors and typos.

But most importantly, I dabbled into the depths of Indesign and after hours of delving, I returned home with a fresh PHONE PDF! Super clickable and fully interactive. I must say that for those learning and familiar with indesign this is an awesome adventure to experience.

307 A Welcome Resting Place (and I got my new glasses)

Denizens of the tower!

I'm back to full-blown fantasy art creation. I got my glasses earlier this week. After a period of adaptation I am now feeling better and I see WAY better with the glasses. It wasn't until I started doing my everyday stuff with the glasses that I noticed how bad my sight was. I mean I'm not really that bad, really. But I was bad enough that I could still barely function without glasses. An interesting development is that I bought a 4k monitor for my cartography st...

Update on my eye health.

Hello pals, this is Derek.

This is a personal announcement. My only intention is to share with you a few things that have happened over the past two months or so. I have experienced mild discomfort with my eyes for 2-3 months. The issue is that they get too dry and this causes blurry vision, headaches, trouble focusing on small details on the screen.

As some of you know, I work with a graphic tablet. So I have two screens in front of me for over 7-8 hours a day. It's just the way ...

306 Fortified Hamlet

Denizens of the Tower

Happy halloween, and happy Day of the Dead. To close the month, I bring you this cool fortified hamlet map. It features 7 individual buildings and should have an average permanent population of 30 townsfolk. The hamlet is probably in a dodgy place because they've gone to the lengths of setting up a wooden palisade. What's out there? well, it could be just about anything, more likely, brigands, orcs, thieves, wild animals, etc.

This illustration includes no lo...
