If I have your mailing address, you've gotten at least one postal-friendly postcard from me. If you've been around for a while, you've gotten several. I enjoy sending people something they can touch and enjoy, even if only while reading a brief sentence or two.
When you pause patronage, I still send postcards. I care about you as people and want to keep bringing you a little joy.

I've been upping my sewing game so the next years are filled with awesome costumes, even more awesome than before. Until live performances are once again possible, might as well make the most of this extended pre-production period.
This tank top is sheer with the right lighting. I didn't realize how sheer they would be when I started wearing them to walk the dogs during the summer. Sorry not sorry.
I ta...

Dallas has been hot and humid lately, disrupted by the occasional rainstorm on the days I have to drive somewhere.
I'm about to dismantle a dress to use the fabric for a panel skirt belt. I could go to the store and try to find the right shade, but my impatience may get the best of me.
I'm also thinking about putting on a virtual show of sorts. Well, producing and hosting.
The pandemic was supposed to be und...

Happy July!
With all of our in-person shows (including the murder mysteries) on indefinite hold for 2020, I'm doing occasional virtual shows and working on my own costumes. Mr. Snapper has created our online t-shirt store, which includes some of his own designs. I'm also vlogging from time to time.
I've been moisturizing the hell out of my hands, which is why my iPad is covered in fingerprints after Mr. Snapper po...

I'm hard at work on a potential design for the dinosaur legs, but I have to make a mockup first. It's a comedy of errors for me.

Howdy! My first virtual show is tonight. There's an interview right before my performance, and I have special guests in my improvised act. It's ridiculous.
If you'd like to get tickets for tonight (or to view the entire show within 72 hours of the broadcast), go here!

My first online show is this Sunday. This was my first chance to use a piece of furniture that I've never taken to a venue. (Okay, it's another Liberator product that's supposed to be sex furniture but it's also great for lounging in front of the television or using as a big...

I'm working on the dinosaur! I'm excited that the expert is helping me think of new and interesting things, and those things can be expressed with my iPad!
Through all of this, I appreciate your support so much. I hope I'm bringing a little cheer into your life.

This photo was shot before the virus shut things down, leading to layoffs and lockdowns. Simpler times.
As I had hoped, creativity is coming out of this enforced break. I do have a performance gig that's recording this week and being released on June 28th. I'm also working on the dinosaur, and that makes me pretty darn happy.
Somehow 2020 became a team-building year for everyone.
I'm kicking arou...

I may look very sleepy, but I'm making progress with the concept of the dinosaur and I've booked a show for the end of April!
While the world is a challenging place right now, I'm glad to have some good stuff to share with you.

This act debuted in December 2008. Last Spring I was told it would be making an appearance at a huge show at a strip club in Chicago. I started rebuilding as we awaited contracts and details. The show fell through. We haven't done the number since I rebuilt parts of the costume. I still might rebuild more.
Enjoy the nonsense and pay attention to the scroll.

Last summer I shot with a new-to-me photographer. I like to shoot with new people from time to time because you never new when magic can happen, and I do learn new and interesting things about lighting, poses, shooting angles, hair tricks.
When I pay for professional images (versus collaborating with the photographer for mutual benefit), I typically get proofs to select a contracted amount of retouched photos (no blemishes or crazy hairs out of place) ...

For those of you who have been around for a while, you might recall the day Mr. Snapper went sideways when we were supposed to shoot some content. First responders came over, saw my stairwell of show posters and crown nonsense, plus my fancy hair and makeup while I was wearing footie pajamas. I made friends with a member of that team and did a little photoshoot last fall. The theme was Fire Belle, based on the Elvgren poster above.
I added one of these images to my calendar. (A couple o...

I thought you might enjoy some up-close-and-personal entertainment this month, especially since we're all still social distancing. Here's some footage from The Shallowest Room Party at Tiki Oasis in 2019.
I think I twirled tassels 15+ times in two hours. I also played the kazoo a few times, joined in the puppet singalong, and was a fantastic hostess.

With people getting their spouses to shave their heads and cut hair, I took advantage of Mr. Snapper's hands and had him learn how to roll my hair. If I'd used more hairspray, let the rollers get hotter and left them in until they were completely cool, I might've had a better hairstyle after the fact.
I do sound like a chipmunk during part of it. I sped it up so you don't have to watch him spend 30 minutes in real time trying to manage my hair. Of course, that's far less time than it ta...

I had hoped COVID-19 would have been more resolved by now than it is. I mean, the things I'm bitching about aren't the greatest concerns with this nonsense.
This morning I found an antibody test that was $153. I have asthma, so I'm at a slightly higher risk for complications than the average joe. I go in for a blood draw on Monday morning, and I should have results in three days. If I had it, I would have been exposed around the time of the murder mystery show. A positive result means t...

You're getting two BTS posts this month just for fun. :) I figure we can all use a distraction.
I shot with a local studio back in February, doing two different looks: 1960s dark bedroom and floral fun. I used their wardrobe instead of bringing my own, but that's another story.
The floral set involves this flower wall. It's covered in fake flowers on a sort of grid, and some of the flowers have popped off, so the firm plastic nubs are pretty painful. I'm in a thin gown with sensit...

It's strange to not have a gig on the calendar. Our next murder show was planned for the last Saturday in May, but I think we're all on lockdown until late May. I don't know that people will be ready for social intercourse yet.
It's a strange state of affairs. But, we look on the bright side.
I may just have time to connect up with the...

This month has been fucked up, right? My gigs are cancelled and future gigs are uncertain. I'm still making money by day, so I'm one of the lucky ones. Once I slow down, I'm sure the shock of all of these changes will sink in!
I'll have some content for you this weekend.
Know that I'm thinking about you. I'm concerned for your health and security while shit's going down. I care about you.

I've been pretty quiet so far this month. Real life has its own funny quirks. I gave notice at one day job to take another and then landed myself an ugly cold. (I don't think it's coronavirus, but who knows.)
Anyway, I'll be back to creative battery this weekend with projects and plans a-plenty!

I broke out the crawfish Saturday night. It's been a full year since the last time I performed this act. I've been so busy that I finally broke things out on Saturday to rehearse!
One more show to go this month! I have to learn a bunch of lines and the lyrics to a song by Saturday. Wish me luck!

I've really bitten off quite the chunk of things to do this month. We just got home from the Oklahoma City show yesterday. This Saturday I'm performing at Vixin Lounge. I have a vintage hair class Sunday (as a student). The following Saturday we open and close the latest burlesque murder mystery where I'm co-hosting and singing.
Oh, and I just took on another side hustle. ;) Never a dull moment!

I'm impatiently awaiting my photos from this shoot. I've seen the proofs and they are awesome. It's the final round I'm waiting to get. I don't think I'll have them in time to print and mail for Valentine's Day this year.

Remember that smut writing contest? Mr. Snapper and I landed second place and won a voucher that paid for most of the beast featured in this full reveal.
It's too big to drag onto a stage for performances and too awkward to get in and out of the car to take to venues. It's also too soft to offer much support for precise choreography.
That said, it's really comfy.
Thanks again for your support!
