Thirteen years[midsize]

I started this painting in april of 2012, yes, 2012. and then in the infamous hard drive failure of 2012 and my subsequent devastation at losing many Emain files, I stopped painting so the colored sketch of her rotted. But in happenstance while looking for images of space/ocean the other day I found her, sitting right there in her unfinished glory and I said

Over a decade

An extremely common theme in my art is bittersweet comfort paintings featuring water/space combinations. I sadly lost many many files in my HD failure of 2012, so the earliest versions and one in particular of the arkalian 'adiago' from 2008 are all gone, but these are the ones I could actually locate on my various HDs. Starting October first [today] I will be enduring yet another 31 day challenge with a bonus day as well.

Stinky bird

my Raven-alien sona giving the stink eye. When the strange bird gets too stressed or irritated, plants start growing from its body and from whatever surface it's standing on.

The alien being pretending to be a bird is a sentient plant-alien.

Borb

I've wanted a weird otherworldly borb character for a while, and this is a wip of its design.

it's kinda a 'not quite right' raven with big round creepy white eyes that reflect light.it has wings too they're tucked away in this doodle with a belt that holds them in place.

and apparently my birb person never wears pants. so there's that. every view I drew it in has no pants so pantless bird-thing it is!

a bug in space

I did it for the views. have never played hollow knight, never will but journey is one of my favorite games ever made. my eyes saw critter with black soulless eyes in red coat: its journey so I journeyfied it.

Compulsion

She was smart, cunning, devious. The iridescent black dragon bellowed thick, black smoke and cinder through the primitive stone doorways, then snaked her long, low-slung body atop the home and waited. It didn't take long, mere minutes passed and more and more of the primitive Riftavians poured from the building, some nude, some clothed, all screeching in terror.

The massive dragon descended, snaking down the building and stomping upon the first Rift in her way.

Rage

Orbiting a neutron star, Ezrael flew into a rage. She slammed her fists against the wall above the bunk, crumpling the composite metal with little effort, her tail thrashing then slamming down on the table behind her, sending the weapons on it careening onto the floor.

Why? Why was she like this? Were they right? Was she a failed prototype after all? She was filled with such incalculable rage that she began hitting and clawing at the walls, trashing the room and tearing the posters down...

Days, weeks, months..

The nebula the Behemoth was gliding through cast a marvelous array of greens and blues inside the small vessel, casting dark, rich shadows that seemed as if they'd swallow you if you became to near.

Ezrael sat on the edge of the bunk in the crew quarters she'd taken for her own. The captains chambers were too large, too lavish, too opulent for her. She was a wild animal, lost body and mind after twenty cycles of hell, and like an animal, she preferred to hide away in small spaces that w...

Reaching out

The cold grey drake stared past the glass and shielding that protected her from the vacuum, her hand reaching out and touching the bubble that ran along both sides of the glass. It lightly buzzed and hummed where her fingers and palm made contact, briefly rippling outward as a reminder that it was there.

A vast emptiness settled on her like a burden and she let out a soft sigh.
