Things have been quieter around here than I intended this month, for that I apologize. My post-op healing process has been a lot more complicated and slow than I anticipated. What I thought would be 1 week of healing and then 3 weeks of down to catch-up on work things, turned into some serious downtime to just heal. I ended up in the ER after my surgery and have been taking it incredibly slow since then. We also had a big family health scare so I...

It's been a while since I got in front of the camera for such a big self portrait session. This session felt both good and weird at the same time. Loving our bodies is always a constant journey, and one I find I need to work doubly hard at when my body is going through a state of flux.. which is often. 

Probably one of the last self portrait sessions before my breast reduction surgery in a couple weeks which is also a wild concept and idea to move through and hold myself...

Editing Tutorial - Removing Items From Background in less than 10 seconds!

Hey ya'll - I wanted to share this super cool trick I learnt from tiktok (of all places). No more hours wasted cloning items away in the background! Learn this quick lil tip and also just a general editing tutorial as I walk through my skin retouching and toning process as well!

well, I finally pushed through my blocks and got my booty back in front of the camera. Playing in some of my favourite areas/light/posing combinations that I've found with my clients over the last few months in the new studio. 

I filmed some BTS of this session chatting about composition & lighting for this shoot, and I'll be editing that video up to share for the higher tiers for next month! also got an editing tutorial out to ya'll later today for those upper tiers...

light and shadow; impromptu self portrait session

I was sitting at my computer, which looks out onto my studio. I looked up from my editing and saw this beautiful pattern of light that was dappling onto the studio floor. This is my first autumn in the studio, and it's been really beautiful watching how the different season has been affecting the way the light falls in the studio. I was feeling incredibly burnt out and exhausted, but I said f*ck it – I need to embrace that light and get in there.

San Josef Self Portraits ☁️

I've been slowing editing the photos from this trip - and I've got some more to edit up soon. Lately I've been fully obsessed with the "sky replacement" tool in Photoshop to take my edits a little further and really capture some moody renaissance energy. I used to be scared that my photos would like too "edited" - but that's half the fun sometimes. The editing is how photos can really take shape and transcend the limits of reality.

Upcoming content teaser (I’m so excited to share!)

I’ve had a sheet of plexiglass in the studio for weeks now that we have been struggling to install to be our new shower set. Well I finally got it up! couples boudoir self-portrait session

I reaaaaally want to manifest more amazing couples in front of my lens in the next little while - so I asked my partner if he would jump in front of the camera with me so that we could showcase how amazing celebrating your love in boudoir-form can be. 

It was such a bonding experience laughing together and creating art with each other - I can't wait to help other couples explore their connection in this way, and have memories and photos to look back on for years to come....

finding versatility - posing flow, movement, and the importance of play

The light was too perfect in the studio the other day - and I knew that the time was right to jump in front of the freshly painted backdrop and just play. 

Challenging myself to play in one spot but finding versatility and diversity in poses through small, simple changes. There is so much to be done with one spot, the options are endless. the art of chasing light

I texted my two girlfriends this week saying something along the lines of "hey I've been day dreaming of waking up to catch the sunrise and capture nudies at a beautiful location" - and thank goodness those two beautiful humans took me up on it, and we were able to capture some absolutely incredible art. I can't wait to share more from this sun rise session!

explorations with light + shapes

Lately I really have been enjoying arriving in front of the camera with no real plan, just showing up in a good patch of light and allowing myself to play with shapes, light, and using the two to create beautiful body sculptures. This shoot was a lot of fun - it was short, sweet, and the perfect mixture of weird and soft posing. 

Hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed creating them.
