• The rig is still very rough and both the bodice and the skirt need more love in the weights. Might result with some clippings and lack of smoothness in some poses

Work In Progress - 1640 Rembrandt Gown Screen Tests

This weekend I did some screen tests and final material tweaks for the 1640 Rembrandt Gown Project.

The first UNP beta coming really soon and the CBBE version just after it.

Work In Progress - 1640 Gown Collar

Yesterday I managed to texture the collar. Looks promising :) I also smoothened the collar's edge a bit and tuned the texture channels to make it look consistant with other materials.

I also faked the bodice edge roundness - a small trick but makes the edges look more real.

Almost there with the materials and textures

Only some final touches left.

Work In Progress - 1640 Rembrandt Gown Adding Details

Yesterday I reverted to my 1640 Gown Max model and added some bindings on the border of the sleeves and the bodice, as well as on the sleeve edge in the elbow area.

I think it makes a nice detail and covers these borders quite nicely.

Next up is adding some details to the collar and skirt :)

Work In Progress - Sleeve Day

Today I tried to figure out how to do the double layered sleeves as found in the reference image.

First I simulated a simple inner sleeve and then I tried to model the cord-based strips of the outer sleeve. I noticed some problems doing that, so I tried to figure out another idea for this double layered sleeve.

Work In Progress - The UVW Mapping Frenzy

I'm currently surrounded by the UVW mapping topic. I'm doing mapping of the bodice and skirt of the upcoming 1640 Rembrandt Gown and writing the UVW Mapping Basics and Tips tutorial for you guys.
