PDC Darts 2008 - Nintendo Wii

If there is one thing the Nintendo Wii did well it was to encourage game developers to think outside the box when it came to game controls, and we have to say this one is pretty ingenious. I wonder how many TVs got broken as a direct result of playing darts though! Still, it got us off the sofa.

Our Wii has its own dedicated HDMI converter, so we'll have to use it a bit more till a suitable replacement HDMI converter for the older machines turns up!

Oh and here's Simon play real d...

AV to HDMI woes...

Not having a lot of luck with HDMI converters lately. A few weeks a go I burned out my good one by accidentally putting 12v through it. 😖 As a quick replacement I got one of these cheap Chinese specials. Burned itself out on its third outing... 😠 You get what you pay for...

Upcoming content

Illness has struck the Berriman household recently so we've been unable to produce any new gaming content in the last couple of weeks. We're sorry about this, especially given that we have acquired so many great games just waiting to be played recently. We're on the mend now so stay tuned for more in the coming weeks.

Please comment about which you'd like to see first!

Sonic Spinball - Ep.2 - Sega Mega Drive

Back with Sonic Spinball on the Sega Mega Drive - one of Helen's new favourite games! She does love the pinball format. We're getting to know the game a little better now. Not that that helps Simon much!

Payment option change

Finally! Patreon have introduced the option to pay the recurring subscription fee on the day of the month you subscribed, rather than on the 1st, which was always unfair to people who first subscribed later on in the month. Existing subscribers - firstly thank you for being here! Secondly, your renewal date stays as the 1st of the month; this change only applies to new subscribers.

We hope this makes subscribing to our content more feasible; we have always kept the fee low as we aim to ...

Broken Hurst Naked 5K

So Simon ran a 5K! Not just any 5K either - the Broken Hurst Naked 5K Trail Run. He's not the fittest but still managed a fairly respectable 32m30s. What's more out daughter ran it with us - and he beat her despite her doing MMA and pole dancing! Helen did a fantastic job spectating...

Mortal Kombat - Sega Mega Drive

Who doesn't love a bit of Mortal Kombat, with its flying blood and 'Fatalities'?! Of course, in the early days this level of 'realism' was something to marvel at, and caused quite of bit of outcry. Its still quite impressive that the Mega Drive could even do that! And apparently not all controllers are born equal...

Sonic Spinball - Sega Mega Drive

By now, everyone should know Helen loves pinball games. So when Simon found a copy of Sonic Spinball at a car boot fair, it was a no brainer! An awesome, and actually pretty difficult blend of Sonic the Hedgehog and pinball! I wonder who did better at it?.. 🤔

Mortal Kombat 3 - Sony Playstation

Who doesn't love a bit of Mortal Kombat, with its flying blood and 'Fatalities'?! MK3 for the Sony Playstation was one of the first games available on the console, debuting in 1995. It's still a lot of fun to play today, and I think we've found Fiona's favourite gaming genre! Although we're going to have to explain to her the meaning of 'winner stays on'...

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - PS1

'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' is a UK quiz show which first aired in 1998, so this PlayStation version from 2001 came out after only the first few series. It's the 2nd Edition too, so the publishers were obviously keen to jump on the band wagon!

We've had it for ages but never seem tot get to it, so it seemed the ideal candidate to play when our good friends Mike and Fiona from Naked Travels came to visit. Time to put our collective general knowledge to the test!

BMX XXX - Nintendo Gamecube

A controversial game this time - Acclaim's "BMX XXX" from 2002 on the GameCube. We acquired this as just the disc, so no booklet again explaining how to play, as is quite obvious! We are interested in games that have explored nudity, and this is know for its ability to play nude characters. It caused some outrage at the time, with stores such as Toys'r'us refusing to stock it, to the point where Sony insisted the nudity was removed before they allowed a PS2 version to be published. Interview on ITV's 'This Morning'

On Thursday (11 August) we were interviewed, along with our good friends Fiona and Mike from Naked Travels live on the UK's 'This Morning' programme, on ITV. The presenters were quite childish but we did at least get the opportunity to get over some of our points regarding the nature of how naturism really is to live it day-to-day. Truth or Lies - Nintendo Wii

Not your typical Wii game! We picked this up as part of a car boot fair bundle and thought it looked like a laugh. It certainly was, but not for the reasons they wanted. Lets just say we're glad we didn't pay full price for it at the time! Nevertheless it proved entertaining for a bit, and we may give the 'Hot Seat' feature a go in the future.

As IGN said in its review at the time:
"Save your 40 bucks, buy a few bottles of wine and play good old fashioned Truth or Dare with your frie...

Super Cross 98 - Sony PS1

It was Simon's birthday a couple of weeks a go - he celebrated by having Covid and giving it to Helen... Helen, however, gave him a couple of Playstation games! One of them is this - "Jeremy McGrath Super Cross 98". Not one we knew, but that doesn't say much. And we all know by now how good we are at racing games! Of course, it does help if the controller is working...

PitS 2022

Good news is Helen is now Covid negative too! It was just in time to make it to "Party in the Stark" (aka PitS) at the weekend, a three day music festival at Brockenhurst in Kent, UK. There were 100s there, although for obvious reasons we couldn't take pictures of anyone else.

Covid has hit us...

Apologies for no video this week, but we've both been hit but Covid-19. We've been feeling pretty rough lately. Simon is pretty much over it now, but Helen is still feeling pretty bad some 5 days after testing positive. Its not been helped by the record breaking heatwave we've had here in the UK either. Yesterday we sat out in our garden in a kids pool trying to cool off a bit! Please bear with us, and we'll get a new video out just as soon as we can.
