3D Pinball - ZX Spectrum

On 23rd April 1982 Sinclair released the ZX Spectrum and proceded to dominate the home computer market here in the UK. Simon had a 'Speccy' as a child, and has fond memories of them. To mark the occasion, we had to play something for the channel, so here is a round of '3D Pinball' (or 'Pinball Power' depending on whether you read the packaging or the screen!) because, as we know, Helen loves a pinball game. It doesn't go quite according to plan though...

Gran Turismo - Sony PS1

Driving games have always appealed to Simon, but he's never been any good at them. Unlike all those other games he is good at... 🙄🤣 Anyway, as Gran Turismo 7 has recently been released, we thought we'd have a quick go on the original. I think its safe to say this is one game that we'll just watch other people play! It looks good in the games collection though...

Countryside Walk

Yesterday Simon and I took a break from our devices and screens, and join a naturist hike in the East Sussex countryside. In the UK it's perfectly legal to be naked in public so long as you keep your behaviour family friendly. More and more people are starting to take advantage of this by going on organised walks such as the one we joined. We liked it so much we're going again in a couple of week's time!

Austin Powers Pinball - Round 2 - Sony PS1

So we said we'd come back to it to try the other table, and well, more practice is required! Helen wasn't feeling great so we kept this one short, but please let us know if we should persevere and come back to it again in the future for a more serious attempt.

Crash Bandicoot - Sony PS1

Sega had 'Sonic', Nintendo had 'Mario', so in the late '90s Sony needed a loveable platform character of their own. And so 'Crash Bandicoot' came to be! I played these games quite a lot at the time, but Helen has only recently seen him for the first time. That doesn't mean either of us are any good though! (I need to find my original DualShock controller, as I'm sure I used to use the analog stick for this...)

We've played Sonic a few times, but we'd yet to play any Mario! How remiss of us! So we're putting that straight with some Super Mario on the Wii. Believe it or not, neither of us have played much Mario is the past - except for Mario Karts...

Austin Powers Pinball - PS1

Pinball baby! Yeah!  Helen loves a pinball game, and Simon does like the gameplay, even if he's not particularly good at them. So when this Austin Powers version popped up on eBay, we had to have it. No prizes for guessing the winner though...

Video editing!

Not the most sophisticated setup, but it works for us for now. If we get hold of a 4K camera at some point then we'll need more processing power, but as we are now the shuttle wheel is the only specialist bit of kit used. The headphones belong to our daughter, by the way - red is really not Simon's colour! lol

Wii Sports Tennis - An Extra Round

Helen never likes to miss an opportunity to thrash Simon at Wii Sports Tennis - especially if he's just beaten her at some other game! However this time she managed to inadvertently put herself off!

Edengarden visit

On the weekend before Valentine's Day, we visited a practically unknown genuine naturist spa in Chingford in East London. They're a slightly older couple who don't 'do' social media, which is a shame as its a proper little gem. We didn't take many pictures (we were relaxing!) but, just for our Patreons, here are a few.

A real pinball table!

Its wonderful when you make unexpected discoveries! Whilst visiting a small naturist spa we discovered they also had a small American diner on site, which included this wonderful, recently restored mid-70s pinball machine. And the owner kindly agreed to film us playing it naked. Simon's fortunes, as always, took a nose dive as soon as the camera was recording though! Helen says the only score that counts is the one recorded on camera!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Sega Mega Drive

Sonic the Hedgehog was an absolute classic. Sonic 2 passed us by though. Its faster pace and split screen action was impressive to so on the original Sega Mega Drive, but as Helen put it, made it 'visually challenging' to play! We gave it a damn good go though...

Altered Beast on Sega Megadrive

Altered Beast - most famous for being the pack-in game for Sega's Mega Drive / Genesis when it first launched in 1988. It was requested that we visit this game, as it has a lot of nostalgia for so many people of a certain age!

Our eldest daughter is not exactly a full time naturist, but is perfectly happy in her own skin. She's also a modern gamer girl, so was more than happy to join us for a winner-stays-on round of Tekken Tag Tournament. One of the classic games of the Playstation 2 era!
