Ok, let me explain…. Today is the big day. I’ve been experiencing incredible pain through my face, jaw, ear, neck, arm and hand on my right side. A severe case of Trigeminal neuralgia is the diagnosis and a tumor in my face is the culprit.

How to handle beaded vintage textiles

I’ve talked about the importance of washing and completely drying my hands before handling pieces like this if white cotton gloves are not available but what next?

What do I look for when picking vintage?

Quality, condition, quality, condition, quality, condition…..

It all comes down to the quality and condition of an item.

If I can see dry rot in the fabric, seams, stitching or if the garment feels extra dry to the touch I avoid purchasing and admire from a distance because there will be very little life in that garment for daily or even occasional use.

If dry rot has set in, it’s the kiss of death to a textile.

Jeremy bought me a lot of about 30 photos on eBay that were described as a touring burlesque theater troupe. You couldn't really see details of the photos but for a few bucks thought it was a cool little pickup and some fun research. They arrived in our mailbox a few days ago but we didn't open them until today, and these 3 photos from around 1924-1925 really stood out to me.
