Chapters for this week are all ready!
It’s been more hectic than planned. Instead of having all chapter edited and ready to go for a second review round, I only managed to get the first 7 or so set. Which is pretty good, I’ve got another entire week to finalize everything. I anticipate things going well. The last few chapters I might take a few extra days on, but right now the forecast is good.
Chapters are scheduled for the usual time, one every day of the week....

Hello one, hello all!
After 5 months of hard work, the BTDEM kickstarter is now live! The only time you'll be able to get a hardback omnibus edition of the complete series!
I tried to go all out on it. Sprayed edges, slipcases, interior artwork, colored ribbons - this is as pretty as I could make it. It's an 8 book omnibus instead of 16 books because it was much, MUCH cheaper that way. Only need to print 8 books! All 16 books - From the first chapter all the way to the big finale ...

Hey all!
Since there was no posts this week I figure I’d give you all a status update on how it’s all going.
The first draft is done! All the words are written, all the chapters are done. I’ve written the fateful words.
Next week is pure editing. I’ll be trying to elevate the final from its fairly rough draft that it is now, to the shining polish. Initial beta reactions are quite positive! So my ending isn’t going to taint it all game of thron...

I bow to the will of the people!
I'll be taking the next two weeks off posting wise as I finish and polish the end of BTDEM, then post 5x a week until we hit the end.
The only awkward part is the kickstarter is going to launch in the middle of the break...
I might also post earlier if everything gets in a happy state before then.
There WILL be epilogue/postscript chapters, but they're going to be more fan-directed in a way. Once you've read everything, I want to h...

I’m reaching the end of btdem. I’m writing the last chapters now in my backlog.
Ideally, I’d then sit down and edit the finale quite a bit to make sure it lands. I’ve been working on btdem for half a decade, and I don’t want to punt the final.
Here’s what I’m thinking: take 1-2 weeks off, finish btdem, edit like hell, then post at 3/4/5 posts a week to finish strong. Get the ending at a brisk pace instead of the slower 2 a week.
I will happ...

2916 Years after Elaine became a professor at the School of Sorcery and Spellcraft
There was one area we’d avoided in our long lives. One place we’d waited on, delayed on. One last grand source of entertainment that would only be fresh once, that promised levels no matter how strong we were. Auri had visited a few times herself, but we wanted one big fresh trip.
The kindest oddity, the everflowing font of wealth and experience.
It was time for us to visit Th...

The years drifted by, and we tried every profession.
Amber laughed at my attempts at opening a general store, and we got a thorough education in the intricacies of holding inventory. Why did it have to be so complicated?
Being a [Courier] was as fun as I imagined, but impossibly lonely. Iona hadn’t wanted to spend the entire time in [Manor] while I ran around the world, and it only took me four months before I cracked and spent time with t...

I wondered how Iona talked me into this as another group of [Adventurers] came in through the door. I didn’t recognize them, not that it said much. Lots were transient, lots of shiny new [Adventurers] came in… and few returned.
I’d been around long enough that it just made me sad. They were doing the best they could, trying to find themselves a...

I don't think I've shared book 15's final epub/pdf with you all. Feel free to point and laugh if I have! I'd rather you get it twice then not get it at all.

The Small Announcement!
Beneath the Dragoneye Moons is on final approach to finishing.
I've been working over the past year to get a kickstarter going, and we've hit the prelaunch phase!
Beneath the Dragoneye Moons: The Complete Collector's Edition!
An 8 book hardback omnibus for the entire series. Ribbons, sprayed edges, the mural slipcase and best of all? PLUSHIES! Big plushies.
The campaign is going live later in June, but given the pricetag, I wante...

AN: Sorry about that! I've been sick. I knew the chapter looked a little too edited to be real, and my backlog was getting really big... should've known I was screwing it up haha.
Speaking of backlog, I'm in the final stretch of BTDEM right now! Don't renew an annual subscription... unless you're an Elaine-tier who wants to be around for Song of the Gift-Giver!
Probably less than 25 chapters to go.

585 Years after Elaine became a professor at the School of Sorcery and Spellcraft
Sara’s notes on how to identify when people were combatants versus civilians using models was brilliant, and the inspiration for the next set of Heal rune headaches. Namely, how much bacteria was too much? I didn’t want to purge everything, that was stupid. There was a good amount of bacteria that helped us and getting rid of all of it would just make people sick and digest p...

Thinking, thinking, always thinking. The blasted Heal rune was hard, no wonder one didn’t exist yet. Two steps forward, one step back, and when a single underpinning was improperly done, it meant everything that built on top of it also had to be redone. I had added tens, possibly over a hundred million fundamental runic building blocks to it already, and I wasn’t even done wi...

Running a large organization was more involved than we’d initially expected, and we spent far longer at the Myriad Flame Phoenix Sect than we had initially planned. We couldn’t just up and leave when we were done and let the administration figure things out, no. We were the administration, which meant carefully selecting and grooming our successors before leaving.
Most of us. Fe...

As the years rolled by, as [Manor] expanded and improved, we were able to have more and more specialized rooms and amenities.
One portion in particular continued to expand, to our great dismay. An entire wing of the [Manor], occasionally open to guests and the only place Iona had convinced me to allow an expert to set up lethal wards to protect.
For many years I’d used the summer solstice as my time to grieve and mourn those I’d lost over the ...

Mao Mao looked up and up and up at the great mountain, the peaks shrouded in thick, eternal mists. Mists that glowed in every color of the rainbow, the undying flames of the sect coloring the grand skies above. This was her chance, her one opportunity to change her destiny and defy the fate the heavens had written for her.
She would succeed, or die trying.
Mao swallowed...

169 Years after Elaine became a professor at the School of Sorcery and Spellcraft
I’d been salty for almost a year when the ‘make a treasure hunt’ project hadn’t worked out. If the materials weren’t strong enough, they’d rapidly weather and decay, obliterating the puzzle. If they were strong enough - like, adamantium - then they were too valuable, and people wouldn’t let them stick around. They would dig it up and dissect it for the materi...

4-7 Years after Elaine became a professor at the School of Sorcery and Spellcraft
I could tell from halfway across town that something was wrong with Sara. She was sniffing, head down and shoulders hunched over as she dragged her feet along the cobblestone streets, heading back towards home. If she looked any worse I would’ve rushed right over and demanded to know what was wrong.
“Sara’s going to need some tender loving care.” I told Auri, briefly wondering if...

I slowly walked down the road with Custodus, greeting everyone on our usual patrol route.
“Morning Agrippina! How’re the kids?” I waved to the first lady I saw.
“Dawn!” She chuckled. “They grew up and moved out years ago.”
I cheekily smiled.
“Yeah, but they’ll always be your kids, and I’ll always ask.” I finished our usual greeting. Agrippina laughed.

The legal part of my mind was screaming at me after we dropped off Lord Sylas.
I’d committed all the crimes.
Smuggling. Trafficking weapons. Sleeping in a public area. Indecorous skulking. Bribery. Theft. Breaking and entering. Kidnapping. Arson. Impersonation. Resisting arrest. Espionage. Obstruction of Justice. Petty Treason. Because he was a [Lord], not a [King].
Arguments could be made for Sedition and Rebellion, but I doubted they’d stick.

It was a dark and stormy night.
Detective Fenrir, Private Weyevern, looked morosely out at the storm. It was a good storm, raging against mankind, raging against the arrogance of civilization, a thousand million raindrops pattering against the window like his emotions raged against his beating heart.
Ahh, his life was a lonely one. His great flame flitted in and out of his life, a free flying spirit that could never be captured or tied down. Not that he’d want to, no. She’d lo...

The wagon’s axle was slightly warped. I wasn’t terribly surprised, given how it had broken and we’d needed to replace it, but it made the wagon shift just a tiny bit along the forest ‘road’. Road was an extremely generous term for the root-riddled dirt path through the forest, but that’s how the [Merchant] was earning the big bucks with her caravan.
And how she could afford to pay...

AN: First chapter of book 16! THE FINAL BOOK BEGINS!
69 Years after Elaine became a professor at the School of Sorcery and Spellcraft
I lay on Iona’s bare chest, idly tracing a finger down her belly. I could grate cheese on her abs. I had, just to prove it could be done. My mind wandered all over the place, before settling in on the words, the dissatisfaction that had been steadily building.
“I’m bored.” I told her.
Iona gasped in mock-horror. I wanted...

Thanwa Temirak had fucked up.
He had fucked up badly.
Thanwa’s jaw worked endlessly, not a sound coming out.
As he spun through the vast emptiness of space, he occasionally contemplated if there had ever been an elvenoid who’d fucked up as badly as he had. He didn’t really have anything else to do.
Many eons ago, he’d come to the conclusion that people who’d made a bad decision...

Iona and Nina were sitting on the thickest branch of a tall tree, gazing out onto the bandit hill. The bright summer sun beat down on them as they studied the ratty fortress. It was new, built with minimal skill, but it was imposing. It looked like it would do the job. The kitsune had wrapped the pair of...
