The Stadium & The Sword in the Stone (Supporter)

It's Midnight Map Time! That means I stayed up extra late to publish this instead of doing it in the morning. I'll have the main post up in a bit, so well before anyone actually reads this, probably.

The Hollow Tree (10x10) (Free)

Normal map for this week is coming along nicely, too, but it's not ready yet, so here's a little mini-scene I drew over the weekend for fun. This one's patron-exclusive, and also free! The zip file has an ungridded and gridded version, as well as the raw .kra files for the map.

Japanese Summer Shrine Festival (22x22)

This one was kinda fun. Festivals fit in well with shrines, I've wanted to draw a shinto shrine for a while, and a friend provided me a convenient manga with a reference for natsumatsuri held at shrines. So, here's a summer festival held at a shrine!

  • The Supporter-tier variants include the festival held during the day and night - as well as empty versions of the shrine grounds, featuring just the buildings. The empty version also comes with a rainy variant.

Sinnoh Region v2

Through the power of sheer boredom and the insistence of a friend, I have made an additional, larger, more fully-featured and detailed Sinnoh map! This is totally free, by the way. I made it for fun.

Features include:

  • A high-resolution map, with a 70x70 pixel 10-mile grid surface, all game routes, many extra routes to cover the anime's additional towns and travel paths, major landmark and location markers for most of the significant locations in Sinnoh, an a...

Desert Canyon Bridges (35x35) - A Collaboration with Neutral Party

Good morning! I'm sorry to keep you all waiting this week so much longer than usual, but a project of this size necessitated it, and I'm happy to release this week a map designed and drawn alongside Alex of Neutral Party, a remarkably talented artist that I'm sure you've heard of before. These twisting bridges across canyon ledges are connected to a set of repurposed ruins, now used as an outpost, a home, or perhaps ...

Monthly Map Poll for September

I'm sorry, I almost forgot about this. This week has been really busy with college and a large map project - it's scheduled to be launched on Saturday, and it'll be something real interesting, I promise. I can't show spoilers for it yet!

Rules are:

  • Everyone gets to vote for as many maps as they want.
  • Whichever has the highest number of votes by 3:00pm next Sunday will get drawn as the first map for September.
  • In the event of a tie, I'll flip a coin...

Quick edit for someone on Reddit

Someone wanted a dark and stormy sky map, and I realized I had painted a cloudy background for the Skyqueen months ago, so I went and grabbed that and did a quick edit with a few filters to make a basic rainy, cloudy, nighttime sky. It's nothing too special, but since I uploaded it there, I figured I'd share it here, too.

If you squint, you can see a sligh...

Free Sinnoh Region Map

I drew this about six months ago for a game set in the Sinnoh region, and someone mentioned to me that I should release it here! It's not perfectly accurate to the games, mind you. I added a bunch of extra towns and cities from the D&P anime and movies, and a few extra routes to cover most major transportation routes (I find it a little hard to figure that the only routes across the Sinnoh's center region is a couple of mountain passes). Also, I think the Safari Zone is actually meant to ...

Master Archive

This post houses links to all of my maps in a convenient manner, because Patreon's search tool kinda sucks. They are sorted by month and have download links included.

How To Use

During April 2021, I was introduced to a better method of organizing my uploads. Instead of having to make three posts for each map - one for each tier - I could just link to file downloads in the main launch posts themselves. So there are two methods for downloading based on the map age:

The Boss's Office (20x30)

Good afternoon! My break is over, so here's this week's map: the Boss's Office, which may or may not be a pun, depending on what sort of encounter you host here. Fight with the CEO himself? Maybe his bodyguards? Maybe the party broke in after-hours to raid the company's servers, and got into a tight spot?

  • The Supporter-tier variants include a futuristic office with a holographic globe inside the main chambers and a brilliant window behind the CEO's desk to blind o...

Boss's Office Preview

Here's a quick preview of the next map - a CEO's office in a high-tech skyscraper - currently likely to be published tomorrow! I'm stretching out my work hours a bit more in anticipation of the upcoming semester and also to try to fix my terrible work habits, so maps may be launching later in the week more frequently in the future. Possible variants for this one will probably include a board of directors' meeting room, more cult nonsense, and maybe a Pokemon arena, if I can fit one i...

Wizarding Class 103 (20x16)

Morning! This map was a commission by someone seeking a map themed similarly to The Magicians, a television show whose existence I was previously unaware of. A modern urban fantasy-style magical classroom - though, the magic in some of the variants is so subtle, I'd imagine it could pass as a normal one too.

There's actually way more individual versions than the splash image shows. There's different colors, intensities for the spell-circle storms, and medieval/modern versions for just a...

This post's only purpose is to delay the charge for this week's map until the first of August (today!). You can safely ignore this!

Messing Around

I was looking at a set of dungeon geomorphs a few days ago, and thought about drawing something similar myself, just to see how they'd turn out. So, I drew these in my free time. I'm pretty happy with them, so I think I'll keep drawing and see how it goes. Maybe I'll complete a full set, time permitting.

The first two are 10x10 tiles, 1000x1000 pixels total. The hallway ones are all 500x500, or 5x5 tiles. Same resolution as my normal maps.

Mine Map Pack mk2

One of the minor issues (heh) with doing a pack of irregularly-shaped maps like this is that they don't fit nicely into a single splash image. But I'm sure noone mine-s having three of them.

Last week's monthly map poll turned out surprisingly heavily in favor of a pack of mine maps. There's like, dozens and dozens of tileset maps out there, so I didn't want to just make basic "end, corner, turn, straight, T-crossing" tiles - my lighting and shadowing style makes it hard to make reliabl...

Desert Temple (20x31)

I know I put it in this week's monthly poll, but after posting that, I realized that I didn't actually have a good idea this week! So I'm drawing this now, since it looks like the mines will win the poll in the end. Time for a little good-old-fashioned human sacrifice, and slash or pleading-to-the-pharaoh.

(As far as I know, Egyptians never practiced ritualistic human sacrifice, except for in the case of the pharaoh's retainers being sent to the afterlife alongside him. But, this is als...

Monthly Map Poll for August!

Time to do some voting! The rules are simple:

  • Everyone gets to vote for as many maps as they want.
  • Whichever has the highest number of votes by noon next Sunday will get drawn as the first map for August.
  • In the event of a tie, I'll flip a coin. If the tie involves a patron-submitted suggestion, I'll default to the patron suggestion.
  • The rest go into my bin of possible future maps, if I run out of ideas.

Charge for the last map

I delayed charging for the last map to give former Dutchman patrons a chance to switch to the new, cheaper Benefactor tier. This post's only purpose is to charge for the last map! So feel free to ignore it otherwise.

Old Roadside Shrine (22x20)

I've had this picture in my head, of a small cliff overlooking a river, for some time now. Specifically, because there's a place very similar to this near my home, but there's no river, and I've thought for a while that it'd be a really nice place to be were it not for that. There's also no shrine nearby, too, which is a pity. But fortunately, being an artist, I can take artistic liberties!

  • The Supporter-tier variants include the shrine entrance during either the ...

Poll - Fantasy?

I'm considering whether to stop drawing sci-fi/modern maps entirely and focus on fantasy content instead. Various pieces of data have led me to conclude that mixing different types of content isn't really desirable for most people, since a lot of them tend to either only run a single system (predominantly and overwhelmingly fantasy, thanks to WOTC) or, of course, only run a single type of game at a time (again, overwhelmingly fantasy). But, for such a substantial change, I feel the need to pr...

Plumeria Atoll (36x36)

It's time to send your party on a tropical vacation (read: shipwreck), because I've got a suite of new atoll maps for you! The name's inspired by the pink Plumeria flowers, which are also the reason why the islands are covered in them - look them up, they're absolutely gorgeous.

  • The Supporter variants are two atoll versions, the first with the rocky peak of the original volcano still peeking above the island, and the second as a true atoll, with the island having ...
