In the interest of simplifying my export process and file size limits, I was considering dropping exported PNG files for practicality's sake, and switching to only exporting JPGs, for a handful of reasons.
- Size: PNG files are big. My map archives routinely reach 200mb, especially for the larger maps. This means they take up space on my drive, but also that it's often difficult to upload maps where I make some 10 to 18 variants instead of the normal 5. A 30x30 PNG ...

Edit: Glowy death pyramid versions are in, free to everyone, including non-subscribers! I attached them to this post, check the images. I also applied a different grid to the air spaces this time, and it does look nicer than the checkerboard - lesson learned. How does an atoll for the next map sound?
Morning! Last month's map poll turned up as "skyscraper rooftop", so that's what I've attempted to make here. It was real close between ...

Good morning (or, it will be once this is posted)! This month's poll results came up as Skyscraper Rooftop, after tough competition with Planeptune Plaza. I might have to draw that one too, later. But for now, this is this week's map! Have a good rest-of-your-week.

Good morning! Since the Skyscraper's Rooftop option won the poll, that's what I've drawn. It's basically finished other than for some minor touchups, but to avoid overcharging anyone this month, it won't be published until tomorrow morning. In the meantime, have a couple of spoilers! Hope you have a good day.

Good morning! It's time for a new map.
This map is inspired by Mirror's Edge, specifically Chapter 2: Jacknife. I tried to replicate several individual elements of the stage for this map, and ended up creating an elaborate if questionable complex serving as a flood control center and associated channel.
- The Supporter variants include the flood control cha...

Good morning! (EDIT: And, happy father's day!) Next week is a new month, so it's time for this again. The rules are simple:
- I've got a list of ideas in the poll below, plus some patron-submitted ideas.
- You can vote for as many as you want, and whichever one has the highest number of votes at the end of the poll period (next Sunday) will be drawn next week!
- The rest go into the infinitely-growing ideas bin.
- If there's a tie between a patr...

Good morning! People really seemed to like the last Pokemon route map, so, I made another. This one's also based off of Hoenn, because Hoenn is the best region. It's fully compatible with other less modernized settings too, of course.
As an aside, from when I was choosing which route to draw, there's a minor issue with Pokemon's maps as is in that most of them are designed for 3/4ths perspective - that's the screwy not-quite-top-down perspective you get from most old JRPGs designed for ...

Good morning! This map was directly inspired by Hoenn Route 104's southern half, and will probably be instantly recognizable to anyone who spent as much time with Pokemon Emerald as I did. It might even be recognizable otherwise, since I included it in last month's poll along with a reference image. At least, I think I included a reference image.
This wonderful seaside spot may have an owner, but they're an inattentive one - their shed is barren and the boat's gone missing. Either they'...

Hope you're having a good day! I'm just messing around with a tree. No harm to 2-Minute Tabletop intended - I just wanted to see if my pencil brushes looked nice. Mixed results? I actually liked it without the shading, too, but the shading's pretty important for making a map look good.
Also, have a spoiler in the form of an unfinished sketch.

I probably should have made an announcement about both of these some time ago, but I didn't actually learn about the sales tax problem until yesterday. Apparently, Patreon is being legally forced to implement sales tax across many pledges. I'm not clear on what Minnesotan laws on the matter look like, so I'll have to do some research on it. But from my understanding, this means that Patreon will start charging an additional 4% to 11% tax on applicable pledges. For $1 pledges, this would be be...

I hope you're all doing well, because I've had it up to here with this year. This map was the result of last week's monthly map poll! Cyberpunk city streets morphed into a pastiche of a scene from AKIRA - as the map title should make obvious - with civilian pathways built atop skyscrapers. Frustratingly, my style of drawing doesn't do a good job of displaying height properly due to orthog...

Long-term patrons and/or followers will know that I had a lengthy series of commissioned maps revolving around cruise ships. I finished them off recently, as all of the remaining maps were relatively small setpieces and maps unsuitable for standard publishing. And now I've finally gotten off my butt, and I'm releasing them all for free to you guys!
The total contents of this .zip archive are:
- A two-room 6x14 cabin map with a single bathroom and a small kitch...

Boy, this sure isn't a place I'd want to visit myself. This sort of slummy, seedy atmosphere is anathema to me. That said, I bet the crime bosses love it. Or maybe a high-value target? Are you trying to kill them, or convert them? Maybe a player just decided to go looking for this sort of establishment.
- Supporter tier map variants include the nightclub during both day hours and night hours, with a brightly lit dance floor and the world's most tacky lighti...

Wow, is it Sunday already? It feels like it shouldn't be time for this yet, but it is! There was only one patron-submitted idea this week, too, and spoiler alert: it's pretty much what I'm drawing right now anyways! I'll still include it on the poll, of course.
The rules are simple. I've drawn up a number of possibilities for the next map, and also add all suggestions from Enthusiast and Dutchman patrons. All patrons get to vote for any number of the map ideas listed, and the one with t...

Good morning! I went around searching for a shady beach-type map a few days ago, and I couldn't find one, so I figured I'd just make one myself. Featuring supernatural fog, horrific portals to the abyss, and possibly fanservice.

Good morning! To celebrate having crossed some 25 patrons a while back, I decided to create a free tileset for making maps with. So here's what this is:
- A pack of four tilesets made for use with Tiled, a free and open-source map editor
- All of the above assets (where appropriate) cut up and converted for use as tokens in VTTs like Roll20, so that you can assemble maps in Roll20 without dealing with Tiled

Someone suggested to me a few days ago, "I'd like to see an airship map!"
Well, you're getting an airship map! It's also a fantasy map, in a JRPG sort of sense, and possibly set to the tune of Whoever Brings The Night. Whether your players are hitching a ride, crashing the party, defending the craft or sneaking aboard, this top-of-the-line cruiser has your back.
- The Supporter...

Morning!
I wanted to get a quick poll of what everyone's actually looking for in my maps, because I realized that I don't actually know what my audience looks like, in terms of expectations. My direction so far has been rather true to my name, with miscellaneous maps from all sorts of genres, but that isn't necessarily useful to everyone. D&D dominates an enormous chunk of the hobby, and the vast majority of other systems are fantasy as well. So I need an idea of what you guys want ...

You know, when I put down "Saloon" in the monthly poll, I didn't expect it to get 6 votes and I also didn't expect to become so infatuated with the idea myself. I actually really wanted it to win.
Fortunately, I'm an artist! So here it is, in all of its old western glory. Drop it on your players exploring the frontier! Make a frontier up if you have to! It's even got a Fallout-themed variant, so you can use it for those couple of Fallout-themed RPGs. I'm pretty sure they exist - hands u...

Deep in the heart of a tropical island/planet, the party -
Actually, I'm feeling very silly right now, writing this. Maybe it's because I'm still tired from waking up.
This is a volcano map! This is the first time I've ever drawn lava before, and it turned out pretty great, I think. There's a volcanic lake variant for supporters, (or possibly a sea-side cliff?) and a storm variant for that, because honestly, a "nighttime" variant for the volcano was pretty underwh...
