Watch me injuring myself.

This was Saturday around noon when the mail truck came.  I usually have the garage door open in the morning but forgot this time. I had a few copies of Planet X3 going out, which is normal.  But when I saw the mail man right in front of my driveway, I decided to just duck under the garage door instead of waiting for it to finish open.  I  tripped and lost my balance.  But I kept trying to stand back upright, which caused me to just go faster and faster until I eventually fell.

The interesting thing is, in the video, it doesn't look all that bad. I've had much worse falls. But I caught myself with my right hand and somehow my body kept moving, causing my hand to flip backwards in a way it wasn't designed to do.  This over-extended all of the muscles and tendons in my arm.  It hurt so bad I became dizzy and felt faint. At first I thought I'd broken a bone or something and would have to go to the ER.

After sitting down for about half an hour I was able to ascertain nothing was broken.  I could still move all of my fingers and joints, even though it was very painful to do so.  And my arm did not hurt from external pressure being applied, which again suggested no broken bones.  As such, I decided not to go to the ER and just wait it out.  For the next 48 hours I would not be able to use my right arm for anything.  Not even typing or using my mouse.  In fact it has been educational learning all of the things that are surprisingly difficult to do with one hand, such as tying my shoes.  And it really stinks being I'm right-handed.

Sadly, I was nearly done with my next video on Texas Tech History.  I had 17 minutes of it already edited together.  But as you can imagine, I haven't been doing anything the last few days besides watching TV.   The good news is, today has been a massive improvement.  I'm actually typing this on my keyboard with 2 hands, something I would not have been able to do yesterday. I still haven't regained full motion of my elbow without a lot of pain, and I still can't rotate my wrist more than about 10 degrees without my eyeballs popping out from pain.

I'm hoping I'll see further improvement tomorrow.  Either way, I've reached a point I think I can start working again, albeit more slowly and carefully than usual.
