Octobet 2019 Mid-Month Update

Overall 4 out of 5 distributors have reported Throne booster boxes are selling at a slower pace compared to Ravnica and War boxes. The general attitude is this is due to money being absorbed into the Collectors boxes. Still no word on Allocation period ending yet.
Commander 2019 reprint is expected to show up any time now. I placed large orders with all distributors hoping to get a lot so i can do a 2nd offering to the patrons. Price will be the same as before, in addition, people who missed out on release will get a 24 hour advance priority before being offered to repeat buyers.
I still am very nervous of these throne of Eldraine "brawl" decks.
I have chosen to NOT order any of the re-stock at this time. This might change as wwe get closer to the end of the year.
"Mystery packs" i truely have no idea whats going to happen with this very "secretive" product. I pressed a lot of people for info on it, and received no valid information :-(
Ravnica Allegiance will remain available until the end of the month, but im not sure about next month. As of now it remains readily available but similar to guilds, i am starting to run into issues with ordering large quantities. I am not sure if this is a new process wizards is engaging in to help smooth out the tail end of a product lifecycle. I feel they are trying to prevent the "out of print" and then large spike, like Dominaria moving forward by engaging in a "soft landing" for box lifecycles.
As for holding sealed product right now. I am still actively seeking out more quantities of Throne collectors boxes for long term investment. I believe the singles will continue to erode in value, while the sealed boxes continue to get opened. In a couple months the singles market will stabilize and we will see some cards start to spike back up.
As we push towards the end of the year, i think many boxes like Ultimate masters/collectors boxes/commander products will be softening while everyone tightens the wallet and preparing for the new items and holiday spending. This will probably make for a great entry point for many long term collectors/investors/players.
Lastly today....the reserved list. This is the lowest amount of "reserved list" talk i have ever seen in the 4 years i have been on youtube.
The lack of discussion and lack of excitement on old cards is very fascinating right now. The public has put the pitch forks away and the negativity towards the reserved list is almost silent right now. I expect this to stay....until we start to see prices move up again....which eventually will return.
I recommend anyone looking to collect these old cards to wait for the holiday sales / cash back promotions and to start looking to build a position long term.
Ironic how, no one online says anything when prices go down, but everyone complains when prices go up.

2019-10-16 04:44:20 +0000 UTCI would pick up some brawl Rudy and sell the position rather quickly once supply is drying up, I see them as commander lite boxes and since they have cards that can only be gotten in collector they will probably hold easily above MSRP and you should be getting them below that. I see them as a low risk item.

2019-10-16 00:58:36 +0000 UTCHe'll typically let us know about a month in advance before he stops offering a standard product. In this particular case, Core 2020 won't be going anywhere any time soon. Sets are typically in print for 9-12 months, which means he can order them in mass quantities.

Although I have no real data/facts to back this up, I get this feeling that with a massive influx of new players, a large majority of whom are playing Arena, the focus is so strongly on Standard given that that’s what’s available to play on Arena. However, maybe I’m wrong and there actually are plenty of new players diving deeply into Modern?
