Commander 2019 - UPDATE

Well I popped my to play I should have picked up more. Well a lesson has been Learned.

I'm personally not placing any bets on brawl. CBs are just too risky rn...imo. Waiting for Rudy on this one...if he gives a good deal...will potentially get some...if not...oh well. Likely, Rudy won't carry brawl stuff.

So who has the hot tip on Eldraine collectors editions and brawl decks. Rudy will you have brawl decks in quantity or should we be looking for cheap preorders?

Commander weekend was capped out (32 players). 48x sets of 4's sold out, US$120 per set after taxes. Hardly anyone is keeping them sealed. Most bought average 3 boxes per person (purchasing power here is low) at US$33/box outside a set.

Picked up 16 sets at $116. Yayyyyerrr

$149.42 after tax at my local LGS. It was 15% off if you bought the case....I’d say I did alright. Now to sit back and watch.

This will occur to some degree...but unlikely by much I believe..this is ofc dependent on how big a second reprint is, if we eventually get one. I agree that it is likely. End of October/beginning of November would be the smart move.

Rudy replies to EVERYTHING. But I bet he got like 1000+ DM’s in the last week. Give him time. He will always reply to you.

I'd imagine a limited reprint for the holiday season. Can't see them not taking advantage of the high demand and soaking up everyone's money. Question is...how will it affect the prices of the previous commander products? Will it just be turn and burn and excess money going into bid up C19, causing older sets to drop in price with lower demand for them?

Blowout cards . com still has them for $150 if anyone wants to get it before the price spike!!!! I doubt the re-print will be large so best to get it while it is still reasonable!!!

I had a suspicion this would be a year where they had a lower supply. Last years decks were still on the shelves within the last month, pretty much convinced me they would print less this year (it's never the quality that's the problem after all). We shall see if it holds though. Hopefully if it sells out fast they'll be smart and print more.

Well this is bad news for people who missed out, but good news for people who bought sets. I have three sets currently, one set sealed in the case still and two sets were removed to display. I was planning to open and sleeve up merciless rage but this news is making me reconsider...

Hi guys! So here is my story. I couldn't buy at the pre sale. Nothing big. I looked at amazon and it was $176 plus tax and not to be shipped until release date. The date is Aug 23 2019. I live in Virginia was at DC for business drove through Maryland. Stopped at a Walmart that's on the way. All Four 2019 Commanders were on the shelf! It was 11:30 Eastern time. $41 and change each. I brought all four. $178 with tax in hand and out the door. And the news is no restock? And a sad note there was a father and son waiting behind me. There were buying Pokemon. I think that a good snatch and story. Ricke

Well hope whoever got the 2 I had ordered then was refunded then paid again to be refunded again is happy with them. Bummed I don’t get any but not the end of the world.

Retail "leaves no real meat on the bone". Would have to be above $180 to even start pulling into profitability. At $200 value you would only make $10 (calculating 15% seller expenses and that doesn't factor any taxes you pay).

interesting info. I had hedged against missing out (which I did) by buying super early and lucked out with a sale on top, so i got 5 sets at 112.49 each shipped. Glad I did now.

That's the thing there is no MRSP anymore, its open market. Add that to the current price of the cards in the deck is sitting at right about $100 for 3 of the 4 decks, some store might open to crack em open and sell singles.

I am going to stash mine in the basement next to my Anthologies boxes and pray for a brighter tomorrow.

This was the exact same thing I was about to ask. I'm wondering if Wizards is changing their business model by making sets more scarce, and thus higher cost. This may be an internal strategy being used in order to try to work on the print quality issues.

Any update on modern horizons?
