Rumors are swirling at the distributor level that Japanese war of the spark boxes are in such demand, they will be doing a 2nd print run on a foreign product, this has never happened. I dont know if it will be large or small to effect the overall market. USE CAUTION. Either way, i have still chosen to NOT order or participate, since i do not agree with this business strategy. It is very high risk and a stunt to sell a foreign product that was dieing.
2. War of the Spark remains extremely TIGHT and all distributors remain sold out and with the first restock wave hitting distributors this week, they are limiting stores to 1-12 boxes each. I expect prices to remain very inflated until allocation window closes in another 20-40 days. Use patience and DO NOT pay anywhere near the crazy prices of today.
3. When War of the Spark goes off Allocation i have 1,500 boxes ordered and i will NOT run out and everyone can order what they please. I will have it at the 79.99 price point for a normal 12 months
4. Modern horizons pre-orders will open about 10 days before release. I expect box prices to spike to over 200.00+ per box at release. The market is acting like this set is going to tank and do very poorly. I think a lot of people are in a big surprise. I expect to be able to hold the 189.99 range +/- 5.00 bucks up or down.
5. Modern horizons will ONLY be OFFERED in quantities of 3 or 6 boxes ONLY due to the weird shaped boxes.
6. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH MODERN CARD PRICES - MODERN REPRINT SETS ARE COMING LATER THIS YEAR and i dont know what cards are in the set BUT but whatever gets the REPRINT HAMMER will GET CRUSHED in PRICE. USE CAUTION investing/flipping.
7. Now through the summer "weakness" is probably going to be the best/last time we see these cheaper prices on dual lands and many reserved list cards that have bottomed out and continue to quietly creep up.

would you rather buy a Library of Alexandria and a sealed box of war of the spark regular for under 1k on ebay or would you rather buy a Timmy box? Think about it long term...

Not to take away from Rudy, but since he was clear he wouldn't sell in quantities less then 3 boxes, my suggestion is not taking sales away from him. Just buy a single box on eBay. You can find them for as much or cheaper then Rudy is offering them for. I would recommend supporting Rudy when you can but given your financial constraints, this looks like a reasonable option for you.

2019-05-21 16:25:12 +0000 UTCThe tricky thing about these sets is I remember masters 25 having a lot of hype. It appeared as if that was going to be a home run set. It turned out to be somewhat mediocre. What we do know is this set has Serra as a planeswalker. That alone is a big deal in the magic world. Hopefully they donβt dilute the cards that stand out. Like putting out a deck you can buy with Serra as the cover card for example.

I was tempted by a Timmy box at a LGS @ a less-than-Ebay price. I sold them as fast as I could. Get good stuff that's worth more. Don't gamble.

It contains unique artwork foil planeswalkers, along with packs for a set that has seem to have a pretty good release. It's also a limited print run, so unless WotC plans to release these alternate arts in the future under another set, this is the only way to get them. It's a collector item, and I know without a doubt, someone in the future will be willing to pay a pretty penny for one.
