TRUE LIES - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to True Lies! I never expected to see Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis in a movie together, but they are such a fun duo! Enjoy!

so a little real world explanation on the runaway Ingram: while the scene where it falls down the steps and shoots all of those terrorists is exaggerated for the sake of Hollywood story crafting, the genesis of that malfunction is based on a real life design flaw in the mac-10. It fires from an open bolt which has to proceed forward to strip off a round from the magazine and then the firing pin causes the round to fire. Unfortunately, enough of a jolt to the reciprocating cocking lever on the top of the weapon can cause the weapon to fire on its own, so that dropping the submachine gun can fairly easily cause an accidental discharge. I suppose the idea behind the stair case shenanigans was that she dropped the weapon and the charging handle was bumped multiple times to keep causing the weapon to fire and at least some of the rounds went in to the area where the terrorists were approaching. The other part of that equation is that the mac-10 has a VERY high cyclic rate, around 1200 rounds a minute, meaning the weapon would most likely be empty halfway down the stairs or even earlier.....TMYK

This is one of my favorite James Cameron movies.

And for a Bill Paxton rec, you may consider checking out the series "Big Love". It probably wouldn't be great for reactions, but you may enjoy it on your own. The cast is great and the storylines are foreign to most of us so the show is fun to watch.

This one was fun. I believe this and Tombstone were the only movies to have both Bill Paxton and Charlton Heston, so kudos on the grouping. When you start regularly exploring older titles I'll suggest some Heston movies for you to check out. For now I'll just mention that if you decide to start the newer "Planet of the Apes" series, you should first check out the original 1968 film, which stars Heston. It is not only the best movie in the whole franchise, but also a classic among sci-fi films.

I second The Abyss (1989). I do hope she watches the 1993 Special Edition.

Speaking of James Cameron, I also suggest the 1993 Special Edition of The Abyss (1989), Avatar (2009) & Avatar: The Way of Water (2022). #MoreJamesCameronForAddieCounts

Happy Wednesday, Addie. True Lies (1994) is one of my favorite James Cameron movies. That finale with the Harrier jet was awesome. One of the funniest parts of the movie was when Harry says "STOP CHEERING ME UP!". The scene where Helen was dangling on the helicopter was filmed on Jamie Lee Curtis's 35th birthday in 1993. This is also the first movie to EVER use the 1994-2009 20th Century Fox logo, with Bruce Broughton's arrangement of that iconic fanfare.

Great film love it.

PHILLIP CORNISH

Available on Hulu and Sling TV in the U.S for those wanting to know where to watch it. 😃

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 Glad that you were finally able to watch this one. This movie is one of my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis movies. Definitely looking forward to watching this later this evening. Another great Arnold Schwarzenegger movie that I very highly recommend is the 1988 comedy "Twins". Have a great day today! 😊

Randee Carreno

Such a fun movie.

Thomas Yanez

Awesome! Looking forward to this one

One more must-see James Cameron movie to watch: "The Abyss." You may be seeing Jamie Lee Curtis again next month in "Halloween"... and/or in December in "Trading Places," depending on if you put them in polls and how they fare in said polls. I'll also throw out "A Fish Called Wanda," in which she stars alongside Monty Python members John Cleese and Michael Palin.
