I'd say this, "The Talented Mr. Ripley," the first 3 Jason Bourne movies, and "The Martian" are his best movies.

2022-11-10 12:43:22 +0000 UTCDamon and Affleck were unknowns when this was filmed on a budget of 10 million (earning 225 million during it's theatrical run alone). Almost immediately after initial production Damon was selected by Steven Spielberg as an "unknown actor" to play Private James Ryan in "Saving Private Ryan". Before that movie came out "Good Will Hunting" took the 1998 Oscars by storm, winning Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Robin Williams) and Best Writing (Affleck and Damon). It was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (Damon), Best Actress (Driver), Best Director, Best Film Editing, and Best Music - Original Score. By the time "Ryan" came out in 1999, Damon was a household name.

2022-11-07 19:10:01 +0000 UTCGlad to hear you're also definitely going to do "The Green Mile." π You'll recognize a few additional actors in the film other than Tom Hanks: you've also got the sniper specialist from "Saving Private Ryan" and the prosecuting attorney in Andy's trial at the beginning of "The Shawshank Redemption" as 2 of the other prison guards, Brett from "Alien" as the prison janitor, and, after "Forrest Gump" and "Apollo 13," Gary Sinise completes his on-screen trilogy with Tom Hanks here in a small role.

After a hard day's work on filming the movie, Steven and the entire cast and crew of SL would gather around to listen to Robin's comedy routines to help cheer them up, due to the movie's very serious subject matter.

RIP always to Robin Williams, who passed away in 2014. Fun Fact: Robin Williams won the 1997 Supporting Actor Academy Award for this movie. And Ben Affleck and Matt Damon won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay for this movie that same year. Another great Robin Williams movie that I very highly recommend is the 1991 "Hook".
