I like this movie, but I can't find it scary because the Simpsons ruined that for me. That and to me Jack Nicholson will always be the Joker, so I don't take him quite as serious in movies as I should.

I bet, in a year or two, if you were to re-watch this, you would do a lot better than your first time and it would seem like a different movie. I have a feeling you would shoot that idea down in a heartbeat! lol Take care of yourself, Addie!!

Now if you can take this then you can handle the 2019 follow up; Doctor Sleep with Ewan McGregor in the role of Danny all grown up. Definitely should watch it for October. It does have a 3 hour running time though.

Still a classic but I donβt see the point in watching them again. When jack chased Danny outside he should have asked him βhave you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlightβ π if you know what I mean.

2022-10-28 03:01:20 +0000 UTCYeah, you really dove into the deep end with this one. πΆ It's widely considered one of the most terrifying films of all time, along with the likes of "The Exorcist" and the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (I'll be expecting your reactions to those next year π). Even the edited-for-TV version still creeped the hell out of me as a child. I'd definitely agree that the sound design and music selection are the film's true MVP's.

You will be happy to know, it is more of a thriller than horror. It is no way as scary. In fact, it has a lot in common with an X-Men movie. lol

I even liked seeing this movie featured in Twister (1996). You should definitely check out that movie and Doctor Sleep (2019) as well. BTW, nice turtleneck sweater.
