2023-03-12 14:56:02 +0000 UTCThe botched Omar hit was really on Avon & Slim Charles because that was Avon's play to go to the City Records Hall & pay Fat Face Rick's sister for information on Omar's family members. Avon gave the assignment to Slim & then Slim assigned the most delicate of jobs to the 2 most incompetent soldiers in their ranks & then when they did the most competent thing which was to call Slim Charles (their immediate Supervisor) Slim didn't answer the call. If Slim had the day off then they should've had the day off & if they didn't have the day off then they should've been directed on what to do if they see Omar on Sunday which should've been to wait and do Recon by following Omar to find out where he's laying his head then that way B & B (Slim Charles) could hit him at midnight Monday morning. Stringer made the call to shoot because he wasn't told about the Grandmother at all & Stringer is coming off of being told that he might not be hard enough for the streets. Ignoring the Sunday truce rule to get rid of a nuisance that broke the rules first by taking the witness stand against Bird is understandable which is why Stringer said, I hear the cocksucker's name & I ain't thinking bout no church day then Avon understood.

Omar punk arse put his grandmother in mortal danger by diving in the cab WITH her INSTEAD OF running the OPPOSITE direction AWAY FROM the cab when he spotted the shooters. Also there's cops who are just itching to fire. Prez, like some people, should have never been a cop and, like hinted at in Season 2, he might have been pressured into it by family.

2023-03-09 23:11:10 +0000 UTCYep! The thing with the Wire, is you have to watch episodes a bunch of times. The details are super subtle but they cover everything. Most shows beat you over the head with stuff things and make it obvious, whereas the Wire makes you work for it. Its much more gratifying imo.
